You are having a quiet moment with your dog, then the right song comes in your pipboy and action breaks out, that's what Fallout is

Some NMA user said:
So, to Howard Fallout is just killing people to the tune of 50's music...... great....

This is exactly why Obsidian, or anyone with competent writers (just now Bioware, for the love of god NOT BIOWARE), should do a new New Vegas.

And mini games and shit? What are all the writers of old doing these days? Locked in cages and forced to write code? Used as gimps?

So happy! can't wait for fallout 4 :toast:

I really, really hope the engine won't be bugged to hell garbage like the one in Skyrim. And that they will unfuck the Creation Kit or whatever will the modding tool be called. In other words, I hope they learned a lesson from Skyrim.

no :D

Meaning what? That one of the distinct advantages of the PC is gone?

Well on the plus side we could get Xbox One Exclusives :)
Its Probably MS trying to integrate the 2 (XBone and PC)

Read my post :) ^

Well this just goes back to @RCoon's epic post from last year chronicling MS continual FAIL at supporting PC gaming, despite their continued protestations to the contrary.

EDIT: I think this also will likely confirm my prediction of free modding for Bethesda games on the PC being gone as well. They failed at Skyrim, but I said they would be up front in the future and make sure there is no misunderstanding going forward. Reason? Because it will be impossible for them to allow modding on Xbone without controlling it, and certainly will then force PC mods to come from the same CONTROLLED pot, so as to maintain their precious compatibility.

Well, we can be hopeful, anyway. I do predict that PCs will still maintain the edge easily, since the first thing anyone does with any new TES game, is find a way to jack the texture package so far up the scale that you can count the legs on the ants, looking for mutants. Which your standard Xcock just can't handle.

True that. Fill the texture mods with 4096x4096 textures, and an Xbone will likely melt!

i have an inkling that they may only allow certain types of mods, such as those created within their own level creator.

See, now this is why MS gets away with this. No offense to you at all, but when the masses think like this, falling for bribes, MS has a free pass to walk all over everyone.

Maybe its just me, but I've been feeling lately that the PC is receiving more of the PS4 exclusives than the XBox ones. It's probably just because my attention has been drawn to the few that are coming to PC, and my lack of interest in any MS conference (90% of their set at E3 is still tailored towards the XBox than BOTH PC and Xbox as it should be). Anything that comes on Xbox should automatically come on PC. The new consoles are X86 and most of the games are built on engines fully capable of running on PC.

Holo-lens is cool and all, but there's only so much "news" I can take about hearing from Minecraft for the millionth time.

EDIT: On topic, I know graphics shouldn't matter and all, but this is 2015. Those Fallout 4 graphics are unacceptable. No amount of story is going to excuse the fact that the polygon count, 720p textures and animations on those damn dogs are downright awful. That stuff looks closer to 1st gen UE3 assets. Definitely not a AAA title in looks.

I think graphics in Fallout 4 is almost good enough, I'd just improve textures of grass and small branches
1RMa_NG3QJOE.jpg
... and that shader for the ground, little rocks don't look properly lit, no paralax occlusion mapping or tesselation :(
... and that messed up UV mapping on the shoulderpads above armpits

So, has everyone missed the announcement from Bethesda? The little announcement they slipped in around the DOOM 4 announcement. That little announcement about a new platform for "digital content."
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/141167-bethesda-e3-announces-bethesdanet-hub

This screams "content portal for mods" louder than anything I could have imagined. With Skyrim you were forced to go through Steam, and the content was dealt out with the Steam workshop. With a dedicated service Bethesda could control all modding in the game. If the paid mod thing was an issue for Steam I don't see how the community won't be pissed about this. Considering that Bethesda is pimping it's "support" for the community I am wondering how this will be played. Considering how quietly the Bethesda.net announcement was played, I think Fallout 4 might not warrant a pre-purchase just yet.

Edit:
I didn't make this point clear. Bethesda kept regular modding, but embraced the workshop so anybody could download mods with little to no effort. The workshop was baby's first modding, while those insane enough to want it could mod to our heart's content through the regular older system.

Exactly what I've been saying by reading the tea leaves, and I didn't even see the announcement. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

BTW though, no one was "forced" to use steam for Skyrim mods. The majority of mods were on The Nexus long before, and the greater variety and content still resides there. Just a minor correction to your otherwise spot-on post.

It's not exactly 2015 game though. They've been working on it for like five years, so I guess it is what it is. And maybe it's just the damn engine?
Personally, as long as the textures are at least somewhat higher resolution than what Skyrim has, I wouldn't mind. But they sure could do better than this. Especially since there won't be any stupid old gen consoles limitation (but how much VRAM do the new consoles have again?).

It realy looks like "Fayrim". I am betting on huge amount of bugs on launch.
As for graphics, well, after W3 I have quite high standards xD

One thing is for sure: if I decide to buy it, it will be no sooner than half a year after release, ideally a year or so. But maybe it won't matter and we will rely on unofficial patches just like with Skyrim.

Meaning what? That one of the distinct advantages of the PC is gone?
I see it as a plus unless the Xbox also gets the tool to make the mods, even then I don't see how trying to make a mod with an Xbox controller would be anything other then a PITA. Also just wait (no idea how long, but it will happen eventually) until someone makes a graphics mod, or some crazy high res texture pack that needs more GPU power then the Xbox has.

at least you wont need a gaming PC to make the mods.

The graphics are probably partly limited by the power of the consoles, the bad animations are a hallmark of Bethesda on any platform.
If the game runs even halfway decently on either console, it should fly on PC even with hd texture mods.
Looking forward to this game, but it is currently priced a little crazy, especially for a digital release.
