G502 vs G700/s fite on!

you can replace that cable, its standard micro USB. i use the charger from my galaxy S1, since its almost 2 meters long for charging... never actually run it wired to the PC.

Yes but to use it without the default cable would not be a good idea as it would just become loose while playing, but sure for just charging. The default cable is terrible and i think they must of known how bad it was like come on.

I use game detection mode for mine.

I just use built-in memory. The G602 only has one profile that can be loaded into the mouse unless you're using detection or have the PC managing profiles.

It's on endurance right now, polling rate changes when I switch to performance and the sensitivity could change as well if I were so included, which I'm not.

i was shocked by how well the 502 performs for such a cheap mouse. i have happily ditched the razors for the increased functionality it brings.

I was tripped out by your pic for a sec - I was in the middle of configuring my G700s when i needed to take a bio break for 5mins and left. When i came back i kept clicking on the little icons on the right hand side of your pic wondering why the GUI wasnt working and why the top left now had green looking dots. I went to my taskbar and flipped my own LGS (Logitech Gaming Software) back on the screen a few times on and off, and wondering why there were now two instances of LGS but one obviously hand hung and i honestly thought that till i decided to scroll up to see if my windows had frozen lol.

an honest 'WTF' moment right there.

Its like when youre completely drunk off your tits and trying to turn on the TV with the wrong remote and getting all mad because its not working.

Profiles in the passed on the G700 have been a pain in the ass for most people, not sure if they fixed that though.

Problems like it don't stay on the right profile. i only use one profile so it's never effected me in fact i don't even install the software no more now either.

Tested the mouse out on some BF4 test range just to configure and get a feel for the mouse. I have to say, while the grip (im palm grip) is quite comfortable the mouse feels a tad too heavy for my taste with the battery installed. With the battery out though it feels roughly about the same weight as my G502.

Currently running it wirelessly while having it plugged into a random wall charger.

It fits my hand better, side buttons are easier to click. And donno why but with G602 my hand was always sweating. It pissed me off a lot.

I will only write down my experience with the G700 here, I use it for 3-4 years now.

It's the first mouse I got with perfect wireless performance (I had a MX700 before and a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer, both performed relatively bad compared to this), that has no handycaps compared to wired. I tested it with comparing to the wired mode of the same mouse, no difference at all - and I tested it in FPS + RTS games and all other types of games. The mouse is perfectly formed for a right hand user, even better than the legendary MX500 form. It has a lot of buttons, all buttons are perfectly built, not like someone said here. Also the buttons have a low click distance which is good for a RTS gamer, or FPS gamer. Battery endurance is maybe the only problem you'll have with that mouse, because it has only 1 battery and is a gaming mouse (using somewhat high energy), it needs charge every 2nd day at least with continious usage. The laser is very good, 5700 DPI is more than enough for anything, software is very good too it lets you customize every button and DPI setups (up to 3 different DPI setups with 5 profiles each) - the changes can be saved in the mouse, so you don't need the software if using it with another computer. The charging cable is good enough too, it's not as good as the cables a wired mouse has but it's thick and solid. Charging the mouse with it is very quick (about 2-3 hours from low or empty to full), but you can only use batteries with ~2000MAh with it because it isn't suited for charging higher capacity. That's why I used a 2800 MAh battery and a discrete charger with it for years to have a spare stronger battery and no need of the charging + cable at all. The receiver works over long distances, I was able to use the mouse in over 10 meter distance, that's more than enough for almost anything. Also the mouse has a nice simple black style without fancy LEDs and such things.

For me it's simply the perfect mouse and best I ever had, I couldn't wish for anything better, just a better battery perhaps, that's it. Get it and be happy with it.

So glad i got my g700s *and* kept my g700 (after WD40 fixed the double clicking button problem), so my laptop gets its own kickass mouse too.

I'm pretty happy with the 3 months of battery life I get out of my G602 with 2600mAh NiMH AA batteries. I'm sure settings make a difference on battery life as well. If I always used performance mode it would chew through it in less than a month TBH.

Will not be getting no 3 month with the G700s due to it being a laser based mouse, although a spare battery or just remembering to plug it in solves the issue.

what i wonder is why with a replaceable battery G602 you get months of battery life but only a measly 10 hours or less out of a G700s..

tis the only way i fault the mouse.. having to plug it in and charge it so often.. surely they could manage more than 10 hours on a charge.. i tend to use mine as a wired mouse and leave the bugger plugged in sooner than have to piss about plugging in the cable to recharge it every time it goes flat on me..

let me put this another way why the f-ck does the G700 need so much more power than the G602.. i cant really see any logical reason why.. both are sold as gaming mice.. both seem to work in a similar fashion..

popping a mouse in a handy cradle to charge is okay.. having to plug in bloody cables every few hours is not okay.. it defeats the object of having a wireless mouse in the first place..

ps.. or wake up logiteck and put a lithium cell in your rechargeable gaming mouse and lets have a nice cradle to charge the bloody thing in.. what you have now is nothing but an out dated kludge.. whinge apart the rest of it is nice..

i use a 1.5M (ish) long cable from my old galaxy S1, and charge it overnight. never an issue - the power warning for 10% comes up and i still have hours left in it.

The G700s has a laser where the G602 has an optical sensor. I'm sure that can make a pretty big difference when it comes to power usage. Despite the G602 having an optical sensor, I can't really feel a difference between it and the G500. It's part of the reason why I liked it.

The G602 isn't laser so, how it's driven or the power necessary to run it simply could be different. I haven't noticed any sleep lag with mine.

Interesting little tidbit: The G602 can hold two AA batteries but only needs one to work.
