each workshop is it's own storage until you unlock the perk Local Leader then they all become connected.
I had no idea! Good! I pretty much had all my stuff stored at the Red Rocket, but now that I have the Minuteman base taken, I'll grab that perk next. :D

What level are you? I am working my way towards that mission... did you use your power armor? Thats my go to in tough situations ;D
I'm level 11. Even with the armor I took from one of the first missions I cant beat it. But looking online people do it easily. I even used a fat man+ missile launcher + flamer but cant bring it down.

EDIT: I did it finally. It took me 3 bottlecap mines and a mini nuke to bring it down.

please keep in mind it doesn't work until you setup the actual supply line. just unlocking the perk isn't enough.

Ah, so you pretty much need rank 2 in that perk. Almost there.

To create a supply line, highlight a settler in one of your settlements and press [Q] (or R1 on the PS4) to display a list of workshop settlements. Select the settlement you want to link to your current settlement. The settler will now be assigned to "supply line" duty and will travel between settlements. If you ever want to remove the supply line, simply assign the settler to some other work object.)

once you have done this they should shared now.

So I finished the main story line with the minutemen as my faction. Pretty sad but not spoiling anything
So how long does it take to finish the game, roughly?

it depends how much time you spend sinking into the window dressing. 30-40 hours or so.

Loved Jborg's idea of a high rise building :)

Here's mine which I built in Sanctuary.
I tried to go higher but higher means getting out of the workshop so right now it's impossible.
Have yet to figure out how to pass the wire for the wall bulbs on the top floor though:

I don't think you can build higher than 5 stories.

If you just wanna run through the game as I did I would say around 15 hours for main story line (may differ on faction). Now this is with ZERO side quests and the best part is the game continues AFTER the final main story line.

I'm amazed by the sheer size in Corvega Assembly Plant area.
I could snipe from atop of highway to the top of those big ass chimney.

Somehow remind me of Heavy water plant level of Sniper Elite 1.

My fps could dip below 30fps though (Ultra 1080p).

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
Maybe I missed, but it seems all the people with no issues are not running Win 10! :)

At this point I'm wondering if my graphics card is too weak for this game.
I've been having a lot of crashing issues. Basically I never went beyond character creation because the game would crash. Installing the latest Nvidia driver and Fallout 4's beta patch made no difference. The only way I solved this was to forget about my monitor's native resolution of 2560x1440 and play at 1600x900. This way I played for hours, without a single crash!
I thought it would be less taxing on the graphics card if I played at 2560x1440 with no AA rather than at 1600x900 with full AA, but seems I was proved wrong.
I also thought my graphics card was future proof (especially with 4GB of Vram)... but it seems I was wrong here too!

i'm running W10 with zero issues. no need for admin on steam, only had to lower one setting for 60FPS (shadows or AA, not enough juice for both)

One thing I wished the crafting had was snap building. This would make sure all pieces you place are straight with no gaps. If this is a feature I have not seen yet please let me know cause my house looks like crap in some spots.

you don't need to wire the lights. just put the light bulb anywhere near a conduit or switch (AOE)

My admin issue started when I upgraded to Win 10, and it's not just Fallout 4 but Fallout 3 and New Vegas as well. I'm pretty sure if I try out Skyrim it'd be the same. And it's weird because I'm the only admin.

I can run the game maxed out but only on 1080p and get 45-60 fps (my monitor's 60 fps max).
If I run it on 1440p everthing goes below 30 fps even if I lower the settings!

____________________________

@Easy Rhino apparently you aren't given a home in this game (unlike Fallout 3 where you get Megaton or Tenpenny Tower) so they made the option that you can build your own house, which is nice. Presumably the storage there will be safe and won't reset. You'd also have access to a bed, build the pip-boy display etc etc... However crafting is not essential for the game, it can be ignored totally.

____________________________

@BumbleBee switches and conduits have to be wired. I got mine wired on the bottom floor. But the bulbs I want to light are on the 4th and 5th floors... There's no way I could make a switch there which is connected to a pylon or generator unless I get my character to fly... :)

@Jborg how many storeys is your home? Have you got light in the top rooms?

____________________________

Can someone help me with this problem please:
While looting Sanctuary I didn't scrap the intact furniture but saved it in my Workshop.
Now I built my house in Sanctuary, but I can't find my furniture in the workshop. I had a lot of sofas, tables, chairs etc.
I did find the smallish items like toasters, fans, salt shaker etc... it's just the large furniture which I can't find.
Am I missing out something?

More fun new everyone.

Earlier there was a debate as to how many units of previous games had been sold. This time, Bethesda themselves are weighing in:
http://bethsoft.com/en-us/news

That's right, over 12 million (12,000,000) units sold world wide, with a sales figure in excess of $750,000,000. If anyone thought that Bethesda was just scraping by, or perhaps they were so small as to be allowed errors due to monetary restrictions, it's time to readjust thinking. Even if Bethesda is only getting 10% of the sales (an admittedly low estimate), you're looking at a game that has earned $75 million. Eat your heart out Hollywood!

let it go or take it in private. no one cares about sales figures or engines. we just want to play the game and enjoy it. try posting something positive for a change.
