So I've been playing a lot of AC in between crashes. This game seems to crash more on my Intel + NV main rig than Intel + AMD laptop.
But anyways...earned REC. Tried some ships and weapons. I upgrades my Aurora MR to the LN...seeing as it can still be used for hauling cargo and had more and upgraded guns...this is a very fun ship. Sure its not as agile...but it's durable enough and even with fixed weapons I can do pretty decent in combat using KB + mouse. Its combat ability is much better than the MR...even seems more agile...but that probably isn't the case.
I also performed better in the LN vs my 325a. I enjoyed that fast and agile ship but even with upgraded guns I wasn't ever really happy or content with it. The Avenger was an improvement IMHO...for my playstyle.
I need more guns lol.
Well a good friend of mine who's been an early backer like myself talked me into a sweet deal...a cheap upgrade to an F7C-M. Badass! Impossible to turn down.
Though right now that's the ship dominating every AC match I enter. I can see why...the turning agility plus all those guns is intense. It's amazing to fly around in and considering how I play (combat) its a great fit for sure. Its nice to be able to get those fools back that picked on me so badly with the same ship they use....though its far more satisfying when I pull it off in the LN (very rarely tho..).
I still switch it up between the good ol' Aurora and the F7 tho. Both have made AC more fun...and I'm a space combat whore at heart so I couldn't be more content with my ships at this point.
In the end, the F7, at times feels OP and easy to get kills...there are those pilots of the faster, more agile and smaller ships that really make combat a challenge and fun..and I have really enjoyed winning and losing. I also know many ships are due for revisions so I dont imagine the combat advantage is here to stay. I'd like to see the 325 handle G forces better and have a stronger punch in combat. I'd also like to see the Aurora LN pack a little more punch out of the chute.
With that said..I had issues accessing the Universe so I stick primarily to AC. The flight model is sooooooo much better overall... HOTAS or mouse + KB...both feel really good. I have enjoyed my time in 2.0 far more than I ever did in 1.0. I hope they keep this trend going.
Now here's to hoping that 2.1 and 2.2 bring on some better stability and more stuff to do!
