Yeah, I disabled all power saving options and plugged my PC directly to a wall outlet rather than a power strip. Haven't had the error since 2 days ago. Didn't happen last night. But it seems to be random time intervals apart so time will tell.

is it better for cameron to go quadcore q6600 or upgrade graphiccard?
i think he cannot oc the q6600 so i have mixed feelings if the e8400 is better(but there are games that dont start with dualcores like farcry4)

Well you can do the tape/bsel mod on the q6600, which easily overclocks into 2.99-3.0ghz with a bus speed of 1333. There's also some xeons that unlock with the lga771 to lga775 mod for cheap on the bay. So the problem is with the cpu now i was thinking it was the power supply?

Right on. Well, you'll see improvements from them both but the graphics card would be the most noticeable as 5670 is getting dated for even 720p. Single core performance from higher clock speed is still generally more important for gaming, but at the same time its nice to clear the core/thread count out of the way for the future. (Keep in mind processors on lga775 will be bottlenecking the newer stronger cards.)

Amazing! Im certainly excited! Glad it didn't take long after we had everything ready then ran into my stupid case only taking matx. Can you explain some of what im looking at? Once it gets mailed out ill order that PSU.

EDIT: Ahhh the stuff I will finally be able to play/do.. Amazing. Puts my 5670 to shame. Which ill be paying forward! @bogmali helped me with it and once I upgrade it will be given to someone in need.

Certainly works, I'm happy to work on getting a new case. The GPU was what was really holding me back. Just keep me updated bud.

NIce!!! 570>5830 its closer to the 5870 roughly. It is a power hog though so 550w recommended but a 500w 80+ should be ok, will benefit from cuda/ physx etc where as radeon would be better gflops for floating point operations for things like folding and non gaming. Nice setup for sure though. How are the temps the 570, they were notorious as well as the 400 series for heat. Also did you tape mod it, pretty sure the G0 SLACR stepping is the one thats mostly used (uses less wattage and can handle 9 degrees C more than stepping b3), it's the one i have.

thats with a asus commando and its running 3,4ghz with around 1,30volt which goes to 1,25volt under load. cannot find a loadline cali.
yes its G0 stepping.
and yes with gputool after a night the card reaches 80° with an open test bench.
maybe i will look for fresh paste

but the mainboard i cannot send cameronh because from austria to usa is getting expensive if paket goes big,
so its the q6600 and gtx 570 thats going to him on monday

the bequiet sfx 300 watt handled the gtx 570 easy for 1 year with the hardware from my sys specs

I plan on getting the EVGA 500w to handle it considering the 570 needs two 6 pins as well.
