OFFICIAL GTA V (Discussion)

I'm blind or there are no glitches? Explanation pls.

Look at the dots you can see on the roads ahead and you can also see some dots on the grass, black/white dots instead of textures.
If I drive more closer the dots are gone and the textures come in place.

I'm currently changed to 368.95 driver but I see the same, or maybe I didn't noticed this before on the roads.
Dots on the grass hasn't been always like that.

Edit: Got a response from nvidia, it were "jagged edges" what I saw, I was playing with MSAA x2 because doing donuts in high grass with my car were giving me fps drops with MSAA x4 and stayed at 60fps with MSAA x2. Now using MSAA x4 again so I don't see these black/white dots much anymore.
I only see the dots sometimes in (low)grass fields now but ok.:ohwell:

I already was worried a bit that my short OC adventures had caused some damage:wtf:

reinstalled the latest driver again.
I call it "solved" then. :p

I constantly have drop outs from sessions full of players. I thought it was my internet, but I read it's from the p2p networking rockstar uses. One person with a bad connection or playing with someone over seas will ruin everything. Best to play with local folks

Since the latest driver I noticed some parkinglot stripes are half floating.
Haven't noticed this before.

I wish there were more Boats and Submarines.
This game has the most realistic water I've ever seen!

This is normal. The ground and lines are not always even in all places.

You will notice on some roads if you tilt the camera to the side view of the car it will appear to be floating as well, that's just what is going on here.

I contacted rockstar about this ...
Don't know if they do something about it but we'll wait and see. :ohwell:

Should I turn off "shader cache" for GTA V?

Note: my CPU is a i5 6500.

I have alot more add-on cars in the game, but here you can see a 89 Porsche 959, Liberty Walk Lambo, Bentley, another GT3 Lambo, and a custom widebody Comet. Ill have to post some more pics when i get a chance. Added some muscle cars. Muscle cars from top down is a 1970 Chevelle, 69 Charger R/T, 69 Cuda, custom Charger and a Pontiac Firebird.

this mod look so amazing ! im using it now its (new updated version) much better than older version 1.4

NaturalVision ✪ Photorealistic GTA V 2.0
https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/naturalvision-photorealistic-gtav

after you download this

open :
README (English) .. or german or russian "depends on your language" and follow steps carefully step by step its very important

im using these mods - what creator of NaturalVision recommend :

NaturalVision 2.0 (updated) im using main preset "not performance preset" + VisualV (updated) + L.A. Roads with patch 2.7 + L.A Vegetation + Real Freeway Signs + Environmental Emergency Lights + PC Trainer V 1.1

and all settings on max ultra 1080p except anti aliasing
FXAA (ON) MSAA (X2) NVIDIA TXAA (ON)

50~60 FPS(i7-6700K+ GTX 1070 msi gaming x ) both stock not overclocked + 16GB DDR4 3200 mhz
sometimes it drop to 45 FPS

if you have a very good gaming PC to run this smoothly @60 FPS or little less like 50 sometimes , i recommend you try these mods guys

and try Vivid mode on your screen (some monitors) make it look even better

note : after you install these mods you need to change the brightness in the game settings to 3/4 ( increase it )

Can someone who's playing GTA V @1440p with a GTX980Ti/GTX1070 tell me if you can get a steady v-sync 60fps with 4xMSAA?

I'm looking around for a 1440p monitor but if I can't get the steady 60fps with 4xMSAA I might need to go for a 25" monitor with higher pixel density and 2xMSAA instead of a 27" 1440p.

Thanks!

Depends on the grass.

Fighting the shimmering?

Yeah, I will leave the grass at very high if possible.

How many fps do you get with 4xMSAA , grass very high and other settings very high/ultra?

Except for advanced graphics.

You're way too set on 4x MSAA. 1440p is a high resolution, 2x MSAA is easily enough there (it's even good for 1080p). If you could compromise, you could very well play high fps with high Hz monitor + Ultra with 2x MSAA, but you're insisting on 4x MSAA way too much. Just saying, you miss out on high Hz gaming, but it's worth it.

GTA5 distance shimering is present even on max msaa and 5k DSR. The engine is like that. No screen can fix that. Those who say that retina class 4K screen omits need of AA are wrong... the engine doesn't do everything in set resulution especially in distance where optimisation algo is working.

I get stable 75FPS. Rural places with grass tank it to 60ties with everything max, soft shadows and Fxaa.

Msaa kills everything. It howers aroung 50-60FPS then... but... the distant shimmering is still everywhere and stutters. My 980Ti is not enough for that.

So I may as well go for a 27" 1440p if it doesn't matter.

Or would you recommend buying a 1080p G-Sync monitor?
https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/492671/acer-predator-xb241h-rood-zwart.html

Or a "cheap G-Sync" 24" 1440p Dell?

I wouldn't take any of them at the current moment at all... I am waiting for 1440p Samsung Quantum dot panels like in CH711. No use pouring money in old shitty tech...

Right, but this isn't for sale yet and I think it'l cost an arm or a leg....

Thats probably out of my budget.

Speculations go around 600-800€, if it's good, I don't care... Monitor is a product for 3 year usage at least... 120% aRGB space and near perfect black levels keep me really interested in this product. The older C24FG70 isn't bad either a bit brightness uniformity problems... but hey... they all have flaws.

This is exactly why I use MSAA and FXAA in combination. Fxaa helps to smooth out things MSAA can't.

I use 4xMSAA with FXAA at the moment on 1080p v-sync 60fps (tried other options but it made it look worse).
