Maybe if devs pushed the core thing, we may have seen Intel move off their asses. AMD took long enough, but finally gave us that - more cores/good price. Hopefully the industry makes use of them.
They actually gave them more cores a long time ago! But in a optimistic platform not able to compete with the way software was and still is coded.
