There is an entire thread showing my statements. Unlike yours it is full of screenshots. Some of which include what you can push a 390x up to. Those cards are pushing over 34mh/s all over the web.

I would wager you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about that and look forward to no response in a couple of days like everyone else who is full of it.

Just thought I would chime in that it does 37 MH/s + 1200 SC (dual mining) out of the box in power saving mode (under 200w), and then 40+ if I simply clock the memory up to 1050.

I haven't adjusted anything else and the overclocking is a lil' too buggy for me to bother working hard on it till Saturday. But way above your 390X and it's (i am sure totally real) 34 MH/s lol.

Im really not sure what is going on.. no screenshots, no support, just his word. A random arse post. The problem i have with that is new driver shows 36 mh/s with overclocked ram. Surely it is not tweaked, i bet there is more in them.. the values are believable however, i need screenshots to see it considering. Get it together captain! :)

I still havent seen the math on ROI. It is hard to say it is worse and still be the best mining card all in the same breath...which is my biggest WTH point so far...

I have. A 580 makes like $80 a month (Remember I said ~50% better hashing?). Right now the RX 580 is selling for $350 - $400, and Vega takes up the same amount of space.
ROI isn't as good, but Vega is the best mining card by a respectable margin.

I don't know anything about mining, but the intelligent way to do ROI is to include depreciation of hardware, electric costs, and return. Have you done that?

BTW, real prices of Vega are going to be higher than MSRP as well. Based on current card prices the GTX 1070 looks like a good choice: https://hothardware.com/reviews/ethereum-mining-analysis-gpu-performance-and-optimization?page=2

Really nuts how pseudo currency is driving GPU prices.

of coarse they are "scrambling to make a profit"
they don't have any cards(for what ever reason/s)to sell
if they have a lot of them they would not need to bring up pricing so high over msrp(whatever that is)to make money on selling them

I call bs on this whole freaken launch
raja that bs artist " we are late because we want stock so the miners don't get them" lol driver for miners came before any game fixes lol
we are not all fools just some of you

Why are you insulting people? WTF?

As far as your post in the other thread... I'll bring it back here on topic and respond...

That's right now too lol. I have been tweaking it with some other early adopters and we should be to 45 MH/s within a month.

Wait how would Vega not at least get like 35 MH/s or higher? I don't believe you have ever mined a day in your life because you clearly do not even know how this works...
I'll say again, WHY ARE YOU INSULTING PEOPLE? WTF??????????????

I haven't mined recently, you are correct. I was in it in 2013 and 2014 then bailed. That said, I did not contradict that point so I have no idea what you are going on about. I quoted for, and asked what hash rate you are getting and asked about numbers for the ROI. Earlier in this thread you said it was "a steal".
I will say it again for those who are reading at elementary levels: The RX 580 is going for $350+ right now. That makes Vega a steal for $500-$600.
I disagreed and asked for numbers... you wanted two days.... you had it and more, and still didn't break ROI numbers down to support your assertion. I'm not trying to be a dick, I am trying to get you to support your assertion and learn. If you can't do it, well, frankly, I will need to see it from another source. Prove your assertion because it doesn't seem to be great hitting 37 mhs and costing an arseload more than a 480/580 and using a lot more power... Help me see what you are seeing...

... and lose the b1tchy attitude at the same time. FFS, I already have a wife, and certainly not getting the same benefits from you to tolerate it...:toast:

Wait this is hilarious. Fine I will upload proof for you morons.

Hahaha wait is Wizard god? Or just some tech guy on the internet. He isn't infallible people (Not trying to insult Wizard, just the people that think he is infallible).

That's still garbage for double the power consumption, double the core construct and double the memory bandwidth of an rx580.

He also isn't testing tweaked cards that is a stock run of a specific DAG for solidarity.

Are you really asking why I "insult people" when you are throwing snarky comments left and right? LOL I am just not afraid to say exactly what I mean. What did you even mine? Some coin that would be useless in the long-term you sold right away?

You are annoying because you are asking me to prove information readily available to those who know how to google (Do I have to explain what that is too?). There are dozens of posts and youtube video's (of even Vega FE from a month ago) showing 42+ MH/s. Look it up yourself next time.

P.S. What's with the weird wife comment? Are you actually supposing mining is affecting my sex life?! Are you 12? Did your wife replace your mining rig?!

Double? It's using like 250w which is a tad less than double a highly tweaked 580. Also you clearly are yet another person who doesn't really get mining.

You see those yellow numbers? That's dual mining - and I am mining Siacoin as well as 2 x 580's lol. So that's 40% better ETH mining + 100% better SC mining AT THE SAME TIME. This card is mining as well as 2-3 580's for 50% more money genius. RX 580's cost $400 right now, and even at $250: Vega is better because it only takes up 1 slot and overall mines at least 2x better! Vega costs $700 right now because that is the price point it takes for it to stop being better than the 580 at mining.

If you think this is bad, get ready for Vega 56....(Spoiler alert: It won't be $399 5 mins after launch lol).

Given the disappointing performance, high power and noise I reckon Vega will settle down to a "value" price in a couple of months. Given that the 1080 is about £550 at the moment, I reckon we could see prices of £450-£480 for a reference Vega.

Waddya all think?

If the "Miners are not Hogging the market " as some Claim because of Indifferent/poor mining performance
And as a Result Stock becomes Available to the Rest of the Retail Chain
two things can happen
1.market Crashes due to oversupply of Cards at higher price>>>>> BAD FOR AMD and Partners and RETAILERS
2. AMD and partners Structure the Price more Competitively to avoid the above >>>> good for General purpose upgrades /gamer/ box OEM Suppliers.
We are Going to have to wait a while to see whats going to happen
Interesting times Ahead for AMD

The 1070 (While definitely better than Nvidia normally is at mining) is essentially an RX 580 that costs more.

When I looked at prices a few days ago, 580s cost nearly the same as 1070s. And when the mining becomes unprofitable, 1070s will at least be superior gaming cards (can be unloaded for more $$$).

not so sure with of part of that
Mining has a reputation of using Cards to the point of Destruction and the Future S/H market is already a minefield regarding Card Reliability ( and if the Card has been used for mining the Seller may not be so forthcoming about previous use)

I still don't seem to be able to grasp how the math works out to make these things "the best mining card by a respectable margin" yet in the same sentence, "the ROI not being as good". I don't understand how that is possible.

Can anyone do the math since we are struggling to get an answer? Like, plug in the numbers for ROI.........................

580 -
Cost: $350 (cheapest on newegg)
Hash Rate: 30
Power use: 135W
Gross $ per day:
Profit/day (based on 10c electric):

56 -
Cost: $399+(if you are lucky)
Hash Rate: 36
Power use: 210W
Gross $ per day:
Profit/day (based on 10c electric):

64 -
Cost: $599+(cheapest on newegg..if you are lucky)
Hash Rate: 37 (with 45 claimed in a month.. let's see both)
Power use: 295W
Gross $ per day:
Profit/day (based on 10c electric):

I can only go by nameplate values... I am sure the hash rates are slightly more and power slightly less, but... this is what I am trying to wrap my head around... @cdawall

It doesn't mine 2 times better. A pair of 580s would mine more ethereum and the same sia at the same time. That means it would make more money. You basically agreed with me while yelling that you disagreed. It uses double the power and does not double the performance.

I actually do this. What's funny to me is prices have already dropped on Polaris cards locally (480 open items going for 180-220, new 580's priced at low to mid 300s).

can only go by nameplate values... I am sure the hash rates are slightly more and power slightly less, but... this is what I am trying to wrap my head around... @cdawall

This will all change when new drivers come out. For now the card is being targeted at gamers. ;)
