We tried installing it and made it to the part where i open nvidia control panel to turn on sli ( the option is there, thanks to the patch).
But as soon as i try to turn it on the whole nvidia cp just stops respondin and i have to close it. after that it's gone. even if i reboot, nvidia cp is not available anymore and i have to reinstall everything.

no idea whats causing the problem...

So I take it that the patching worked, the copying too, the certificate got installed as well. You enabled test signing mode and lowered UAC, so the modified driver got loaded upon restart and gave you the SLI option in Control Panel.
So far you did everything right...!
Still the driver crashed...

I remember that sort of problem when I accidentally paired two non-compatible GPUs. Gave me a blue screen.
So there might be the possibility that your GPUs are not compatible or that you have a third GPU connected about which you haven't told us...

please help me. i have 4 1050ti. i cant enable sli on win 7 x64
i use driver 384.94, DifferentSLIAuto1.7.1
I did the following:
install driver, go to folder c:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_neutral_eb700218979194fd\
copy c:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_neutral_eb700218979194fd\nvlddmkm.sys to c:\soft\DSLIAuto171\
run DifferentSLIAuto.exe
he said - Patching was successful
Then I disconnected all the video cards in the device manager (because otherwise the folder with the draperies is not writable)
boot to safe mode
edit path in Install.cmd
run Install.cmd
he said - all ok, but The file nvlddmkm.sys in the folder remained old with the old modification date. I copied the file nvlddmkm.sys manually.
Rebooted normally.
Enabled the video card in the device manager.
Reboot.
And the nvidia control panel does not start. Says the display settings are not available, the display is not a connection to gpu nvidia.

what to do?
Hey bro, I met the exact same problem as yours. And when I turn to the device manager I found the system detected problems in my graphics driver. I wonder if you solved this problem? Could you tell me how you handled this?

i tried 385.69 with v1.7.1
1.71 can't patch 385.69 at all, don't try it
if you want to use SLI on non-SLI baord, should use 385.28 or earlier version
(i'm not sure 384.94, actually didn't test this version)

The most frequent error is not enabling test signing mode, because of not properly reading the instructions.

Follow these instructions step by step:
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/page-88#post-3644795
The only things that have changed since are the version numbers. It's now 1.7.1 that matches 384.94/385.28
Also it seems that the last copying step I introduced there is not necessary on most of the systems, but still might be needed.

Hmhhh, version 387.78
You're basically using advance versions of the nVidia driver on an advance version of an OS, which are both subject to change. Can't imagine someone writing a patch for this.

But kudos for your way of documenting the problem. Others should follow your example...

That's why I ask what to do manually to modify the files.

I might be wrong but I don't think the 1050ti supports SLI
Two of them do theoretically, at least after using the DifferentSLIauto patch, albeit without the SLI bridge.
But that user tried to pair two different GPU architectures, that's why he didn't succeed.

I am curious because that would mean you can SLI a 1060 too.

Yes, but without the bridge you get sometimes subpar SLI scaling and from the price/performance point: Why not just buy a GTX 1080?
SLI is dying with DX11. DX12 no longer supports it because the future is mGPU.
I'd only SLI old stuff you already happen to have, as I did with my GTX 770s.

I'm just curious , it would have been very easy for Nvidia to completely block SLI on these cards even with this method.

Not in hardware, because it's a driver trick. And they did block every type of GPU combination they did not deem feasible, along with their requirements about PCIe bus width, which (along with the opportunity to make some additional bucks) ultimately led to the requirement of certification of the MoBos.
But that is exactly what DifferentSLIauto does circumvent.

Thank you very much! Now I got my SLi succeeded. The problem I had is about the certificate manager. I only deleted one certificate under the DifferentSLiAuto folder but not the other one in "trusted XXXX". Now I am wondering if I can quit the test sign mode. As I tried to quit it, my driver turns to be wrong again. If I keep that mode, many games and applications are not available to use.

That's the problem that remains with this solution. There seems no way of loading the modified driver without using test signing mode, unless someone buys a trusted certificate.

Hello,

I have two quadro M4000, my mainboard is based on X58 chipset and has two PCi x16 gen2 (it's the mainboard of the dell T3500)
Does differentsli has been planned to work with Nvidia quadro ?
Simple Answer is Yes, I used two K6000 on Supermicro board

The simple answer does not explain, how you managed to patch the professional version of the nVidia driver...:shadedshu:

Agreed, it's supposed to work.
The only thing DifferentSLIauto does is to give you back that 'Maximize 3D Performance' checkbox, whenever two nVidia cards are found.
Whatever follows is at the mercy of the driver and the hardware.
To debug you might want to borrow another 660ti or 760ti and try with two identical cards and see whether it works or not.

ROP count should not be a problem, but on a second thought bus width actually might be a possible culprit.
