They want you to come and see their Origin Access...
This be a good way to get people to look.
on the house appeared slightly before ea access, both are over three years old, access is still cheaper even if you were going to be buying 50% sales each year, not everything EA does is a scam out to get you even though you are free to not buy anything
It's monumentally redarded by design. It has perpetual problems by stalling Windows on shutdown and what's even more nerve wrecking, the damn thing doesn't survive system formats. Steam and GOG Galaxy, after system partition format, games on other data partition remain there. You just install the client in the same place and all games remain there. If you do the same with Origin, EVERYTHING is gone and you have to redownload several 10 gigabytes of games every frigging time. Not even backing up USERS profiles helps. This is so monumentally idiotic I just can't comprehend how EA can't do it right. Then again seeing how broken their games are lately, I'm not really surprised...
which year are you talking about? i cant run in-place updates after adding an AV with high level settings (also switching to high UAC settings), so for now i uninstall, my game files are there, i reinstall, my game files are still there (burnout paradise + titanfall)... i dont remember if \origin games\ the default or if i wrote that, meaning my uninstalling of origin only removes the \origin\ folder
i have never tried this with steam while using \steam\steamapps\ as the library path to know if it removes everything except that, havent tried with uplay either
user profiles what? nothing is stored there except for specific game saves/configs like bfbc2
you can copy game data for years, i copied bf3 onto a second computer a few years ago, i may have even done this to bf2142 in the EADM days before origin (for sure i've cloned an EADM account set to autologin, but anyway that's the past)
now that i think about it, maybe when i copied bf3, the trick was to remove a few SMALL game files, start dload on second computer, close origin, paste my copy, resume origin, problem solved... i guess a reformat is technically a different computer
edit2: if you think you were coping origin stuff from your user profile, you're supposed to go to \program data\ not user (not program files either, although maybe there's something in common files)
