Bullets going directly through buildings and being seen through walls is most definitely a thing now. Playing with the usual group on Discord, I was off about 600m from the rest of the squad, up a hill, trying to snipe down on enemies and provide cover. Squad runs in building that I can see front and back of. Road out front. See enemy approach road, fire. Squad comes out back door, holds behind building, waiting for enemy, who is still on far side of road. Enemy shoots... and I see dirt kick-ups from bullets hitting hill behind building. Squad dies. enemy shot directly through all four walls in that building, no windows on back wall, either.

When you've spent a decade plus playing FPS shooters with the same group, you know how they play, what they focus on, what they are good at, and what they aren't. Me, I like to take the point, draw enemy fire, push forward hard, and usually get knocked down or die quickly. I'm almost always the first to die. I'm very aggressive, and it costs me. But at the same time, because I'm a bit off ahead, but not usually directly ahead, this provides the team a chance to locate the enemy, counter-attack, and get me back up if possible. This usually leads to a 2/3rd win ratio. Hackers ruin that, of course, and on a regular basis.

In games like battlefield, this type of play is hugely successful. You die on point, you spawn back in a few seconds later, help push the enemy, and then move on. In PUBG, with only one life, you need to rely on visual and audio cues to make it work a bit better, but when people can see and shoot through walls, there isn't even much point in trying. Watching death cams and reporting players is part of every round now nearly. People cheating really turns what would be a great game into a mediocre one.

I expect with as much money as PUBG company is making off this game, they won't risk losing it and will be hiring security types to help scale their player base. I am not sure though.

Also is they ban 1 million people every couple months, at $29 a pop... wowza :D

Kind of glad this game was only $26 for me. Not sure it is my cup of tea. It is fun though, I just suck so bad that it kind of ruins it overall. It's kind of like CSGO, you either invest a lot of time or you just die instantly and it is kind of boring then. Maybe I just suck at shooters, I don't know. lol

Start by jumping as far away from the line of flight as possible. At least then you can loot in peace for a bit and take longer range shots before having to get blasted in the face with a 686.

There's nothing like investing a lot of time then dieing instantly. Some chump camping...or...just straight losing the first fight you run into. But, thats the pain and pleasure of it.

Ive been getting better lately. More consistent multiple kills and winning more battles than losing.. took time for me. :)

you just need to learn the guns, and paly with headphones and volume high. You can hear footsteps and such easily. Many times players do not disable voice chat either, so you can hear them talking. The game really relies on you being with a group that you can communicate with, because without talking to your squad, you might as well be playing solo, and going 1 vs 4 is never fun.

We'll jump into palces with other players often... sometimes you die, sometimes you don't. The game isn't balanced because of how the loot drops, so expecting every fire-fight to be fair isn't doing yourself any favors. Expect the other players to have better gear unless you have the best, and play cautiously. Don't stand in place, ever, if you can help it.

I don't get frustrated with losing, though.

It was always a thing. This is nothing new... on any game.

Of course, but with this one, its really bad. It hasn't been so obvious before, either. I mean, sometimes in other games, sure, but from what I've seen, it's usually 1-2 players in a round, not half the damn server (which, with 100 players, makes for 50 players, which is nearly a whole damn server in most other games) :p

I think that's the major tell on PUBG. When your kill cam shows bizarre scoping or aiming that results in your death. Another one I saw from a friends feed was when he was killed the guy s gun was pointed directly down and spinning 360 degrees mad.

Alsp played BF1 tonight (first time in months) and on 3rd game we got best squad. Yeah... PUBG, rough as fuck.

I wonder what his location is, what servers he was playing on and what his ping was.

Yeah ping deaths are a real thing. Literally playing your game seconds out of sync means some gunfights are lost before you pull the trigger. Not a hack but awful game implementation.

According to his accent and profile, probably European server. People with high ping and lags have the advantage, the netcode is messed up.

I can't watch that video without laughing.

"People, look this ******* cheater. this **** kill me! look this."

Even if I only get 6 hours of enjoyment out of this game, at $26 I paid, still cheaper than taking a blind date to a movie and twice the entertainment. lol fair enough I guess.

I feel like im under a rock. The hundreds and hundreds of times ive played ive never seen lag that bad. Rubber banding, sure, but that was ridiculous. Ive really only seen 1-2 cheaters that were conclusive...triple that for suspect play. Its real, its out there, maybe less on US servers now due to ping balance implementation?

Some folk will see more than others. Maybe your better than average experience so far makes it seem like folk are complaining but over here (EU) we've had pretty patchy experiences. I'd say though that it is getting better. Mostly...

At least its facing in the right direction for you. Thankful I have not run across that many cheaters... I am hoping less Asian users are in the US servers and therefore less cheating as seemingly that is where the lions share is coming from... I can see them spilling over to EU servers as well..

As I said, not too much trouble over here. The worst that happens to me is it freezing while going into the lobby. The latest patch (not yesterday's), didn't help me with that. But it typically happens maybe once a night/playing session (typically a couple of hours).

Odd, never had a lobby crash. The loading screen crash disappeared for me but that was either after the patch OR after I disabled 'replay' from the gameplay options (kept Death Cam on but Replay is off).

Yeah, I dont even get there. Its the PUGB loading screen in black before I get there where it hangs. But, I kill the process (have to) reload and continue on.

I'll have to give that a try and see if it stops. Thanks! :)

I just got killed while driving by a guy with permanent boost, running like superman, and aiming like robocop. Yet in the replay, he wasn't even aiming at me. I don't know if he was cheating or just lagging.

Valve needs to step in, ban hardware IDs and block cheaters from ALL multiplayer games. Steam is their platform and they need to protect it.
