It's just first time we have seen such a CPU,and some results are surprising. But hell if you say that aloud on this forum, you'll get jumped by hoards of people,it's heresy here to say anything bad about ryzen. I don't care so I'll always say it aloud when I'm puzzled by something. Plus frankly HWunboxed review I saw was pretty weak without pointing out 2990wx can't perform under windows.
I wouldn't say you get jumped on, and it really isn't heresy.
Coffee Lake has a higher IPC than Ryzen. Ryzen is on the whole weaker in games. The APUs came out too late. The 2990WX is pretty weak at some loads. The TR4 platform is too expensive.
See? It's easy to state downsides of anything as long as it's well founded.
It is generally frowned upon to say anything bad/derogatory about AMD in general. It is also equally frowned upon to take Intel's or Nvidia's side. Stick to these two rules and you'll gather likes in no time
AMD has been taking too long with Navi. Focusing so hard on HBM was a mistake. Every AMD GPU released in the last few years have had serious performance/watt issues. Polaris is way, way too expensive. They suck at GPU coolers.
Nvidia has superior performance, and from a fiscal perspective they
should charge as much as possible for the cards. They are within their rights to choose who to send review samples to, and until it's proven illegal they are within their rights to withhold review samples if someone don't want to abide to their policies.
Intel wants to keep their grip on the CPU world, anything else would be downright stupid. It's the correct thing to do for them. They have the better CPU core design as it has higher IPC and can be clocked higher. Their CPU interconnect (forgoten it's name) is better than the Infinity Fabric.
See? Don't make things up and everything'll be fine. I'm not saying anyone has in this thread, but there's two sides to everything.
