I hate this unboxing and review in separate parts strategy, but I can understand it from a coverage and marketing point. More headlines for AMD, more visitors for review outlets. Win-win.
Regarding the card, it will probably be 10-15% slower than rtx2080, with some minor exceptions where it will tie it or even outperform it.
The price, even if high, is justified since we talking here about 7nm. nvidia didn't have the guts to go to 7nm, they went with 12nm which is cheaper and they still have to ask absurd amounts of money for their big rtx gpus. Also, HBM memory is stupidly expensive. AMD should have user gddr6 in consumer cards and hbm in hpc.
All in all, I don't expect this to be a success for AMD.
