Hey guys,

If any of you know I’ve had numerous issues with my 5700 XT 50th Anniversary since day one. My question for current owners/users is it worth swapping for AIB 5700 XT. As I was offered a deal to virtually swap for no cost but I’m not sure if it will make any difference.

Sounds like an excuse for a 2080Super

I’d do the swap. Noise and thermals are tremendously better on the aftermarket cards.

Isn't 5700XT anniversary specially binned? That would be a downgrade no?

Didn't 19.9.2 fix your problem? Can you RMA the card with AMD? That should be well within warranty.

Personally I won't just hang on to your 50th special 5700XT. There is a good chance that by end of this year the driver will be all sorted out. Only 3 more months, not a whole lot!

No as mentioned in the other thread

After 19.9.2 I still get freezing Which requires a hard reset and crazy as it is temps be sitting around 45*C before the freezing

Also warranty would be a hard thing as 50th are very limited and there’s almost no stock of them

And I don’t think they are binned as AIBs run higher clocks

I wish lemon law applies to GPU, that right there is a lemon. You can keep trying your luck with other 5700XT. Good luck man

Asrock or sapphire

A measly 75mhz or something. The thermals on those stock blowers are horrific. Whatever he “gained” from the factory OC is almost certainly being lost and thensome to thermal throttling after the card hits 100C+ in about 15 minutes. Read some reviews of aftermarket versus the stock cooler. They’re terrible.

Put it this way, I already have my 5700 XT, but if someone had previously handed me a New-In-Box Anniversary Edition, I would’ve immediately sold it and bought an aftermarket model.

To the OP: Take the offer.

Yeah, better thermals, idle fan stop. Dump that Anni as soon as you can. Just don't trade it for something like that golden MSI card with way too small thermal pads on memory.

I had similar issues with my 2 5700xt's I think it is a driver problem.Try disable Hardware Acceleration on your web-browser and also disable Enhanced Sync and this could probably fix some issues

Isn't the pulse supposedly the best AIB 5700xt out there? If you get an option to swap, with no extra costs, I'd say give it a try.

I would try to sell it, hoping to catch some AMD fanboy willing to pay decent money for it, then add a couple dozen bucks and get a 2070super ;)

I would do the swap for the Sapphire Pulse 5700 XT. then do a clean install of OS when it arrives.

I still think you need to try a new B450 motherboard, MSI has some new "Max" B450 and X470 boards. only $80. I think it might fix all your issues. I know it shouldn't be that way, but you might just have a bad B350 board, the quality control on them wasn't all that great to be honest.

Again my board has nothing to do with the issue

I’ve had this board since first gen Ryzen with a 1700X and it has never given me an issue. Only issue I’ve ever had was my CPU overheating due to the paste needed to be replaced.

Wasn't anniversary edition $450 instead of $400? Unless you get similar value AIB you're facing loss. But then again holding on to it longer won't net you anything. It's not like Nvidia's Star Wars edition cards.

I’m pretty sure they hold some in reserve for replacement or attempt repair. Just RMA.

Nvm I can’t read, you got a swap offer my bad.

Will the warranty be transferable from the new GPU? If not transferable I would not swap. Warranty is absolute must have for hardware this new, 7nm and such

Yes new includes warranty

your decision is easy then. do the swap. and if you end up not liking the sapphire pulse, i will buy it from ya for a small discount. (not buying the reference cooler though) :D

msi has bad reviews for the thermal pads not touching the vrm's, so I would get the sapphire pulse.

I have the Pulse 56 and I would not get a Pulse line again. Nitro would be my preferred.

Yeah if he could do a swap plus pay like $30 more for the Nitro that would be ideal. Pulse is a good card this round though, gamersnexus highly recc it / reviewed it.

MSI Mesh and Sapphire Pulse are the only options
