Blizzard today released the system requirements for their remastered version of Warcraft III, Warcraft III: Reforged. The new game sees the inclusion of the original Reign of Chaos campaign and its expansion, the Frozen Throne, amounting to 60 campaign missions. Reworked graphics, four-hours of updated in-game cutscenes and re-recorded voice-overs are paired with rebalanced online play and the addition of social and matchmaking capabilities.

Requirements-wise, it's a light game on its minimum settings for sure: Blizzard says gamers will need an Intel Core i3-530 or AMD Athlon Phenom II X4 910. A mere 4 GB of system RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 or AMD Radeon HD 5750 will be required to power the games' visuals. If you aren't looking for the minimum specs but how good of an experience you'll have, the Recommended specs up the ante: an Intel Core i5-6400 or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X or better are being called for, paired with 8 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 280X.

I'm more worried about the €30 requirement. For a game that was way worse than the first two. Still enjoyable, but Blizzard was able to remake SC and make it available for free...

Also:
Internet connection, Blizzard® Battle.net® desktop app, and registration required to play.
you can shove it where the sun don't shine Blizzard.

Interesting, GPUs and CPUs from 2010 that Nvidia broke SLI support can play a game released in 2020. I suppose new hardware like the 9900K or 3900X will get super high frames with a 570 as the GTS 450 has 1 GB of VRAM if I remember correctly.

SC remastered isn't free. It is 10 USD.

WC3 was a masterpiece and created several new genres like MMORPG, DOTA.

People keep playing it even after 20 years.

It took me days to beat the single player on hard difficulty.

But if you ask me, 30 USD for new visuals is a bit too much.

Suggests to me that the game possibly does not use more than 4 cores/threads.

Oh, I can't agree with that. WC3 was on par with the first two IMHO.

That's what I was thinking, very conservative requirement specs. This has an obvious upside; almost everyone will be able to play it!

Now Blizzard, bring on the screens shots!!

They offer similar fps in this game (and pretty much in games in general).

That is a 6core, 3.33ghz CPU. While it'll show it's age, it's still a decent gaming CPU.

It even lags on i7-4790K and 1070 Ti. Game really is badly optimised.
I am sure there will be patches (it's Blizzard afterall, even with it's faults), but right when the beta ended it was still not as smooth as the original game.

That's just a beta being a beta. For final release it will be more optimized.

I know it's your opinion and all, but I'd like to ask how was WC3 worse than the first two?

WC1, both races are 99.5% the same at that point, aside from some unit stat differences.

For WC2, there was no difference between both races aside from the magic and minor changes with land units (i.e. Bezerkers can heal, but Rangers do more damage). I remember that humans were slightly overpowered on sea maps.

WC3 however was more dynamic and varied, so you had to play differently than just building the best units as fast as you can (although you can still do this for the single player campaign). This was basically a slower, medieval Starcraft (with a better GUI) but with Upkeep and non-map-specific hero units to add to the strategy. Starcraft had an emphasis on APM and unit control, but this one made you think on which specific units to rely on, especially in multiplayer. C&C Generals (and Zero Hour) gave WC3 a run for it's money, but had a powerful map editor.

WC1 and WC2 were great for their time, but they were basic RTS games compared to their rivals Command & Conquer and C&C: Red Alert. I would compare Total Annihilation but it too was just as simple as WC2.

Most likely, but still, Ryzen 3 1200/1300X/2200G is a more accurate choice. 1700X Really Blizzard? System requirements these days are so useless.

You feel hurt or what?

Why would someone feel hurt over inaccurate system specs? Dafuq you on about. :kookoo:

For my part it's a 4.4 ghz cpu with a little overclock. It's desent yes, but not perfect. 2019 I ran in to a few games that really gave this old cpu a hard time even oc to 4.4 ghz on all cores.

Thing is, I have the Xeon version of that chip, the X5680(not OC'd), in my gaming rig and have no problems maintaining a quality experience at 1440P. Granted, I have a 2080 and customize in game and driver settings...

People keep playing it even after 20 years.

But if you ask me, 30 USD for new visuals is a bit too much.

I will wait for half price sale myself.

You are right, they made the original SC free, not the remastered bug was talking about.

As for your last sentence: "As for Warcraft III - it was an okay game" Sorry, but LOL.

Far Cry New Dawn is drastically different from FC5? Cause I played that at x1.5 and it was pretty damn smooth. And I have X5690..

A lot of people seems to hate this release:

Same game with updated graphics.

Except of...
