LG Announces the UltraGear 27GN750 Monitor: 27" 1080p IPS, 240 Hz, 1 ms, VRR Support

LG today introduced their UltraGear 27GN750 monitor, which aims to bring high-speed, fluid gaming to a relatively low price-point. The 27GN750 is a flat monitor with a 27" diagonal, featuring an IPS panel and 1080p resolution. The gaming chops on this monitor are very much increased by the fact that it features a 240 Hz refresh rate with 1 ms response time. LG also touts VRR support in the form of G-SYNC Compatible certification (which means it employs VRR much like AMD first did through VRR instead of having to employ a dedicated module).

LG says this display is HDR compatible, but make no mistake, it's the lowest form supported (400 nits typical brightness with 320 nits as minimum according to LG), so that compatibility is... Arguable, to say the least. There's no VESA HDR 400 badge for a reason. Color reproduction is rated at 99% sRGB coverage (typical for an IPS panel). Connectivity-wise, we're looking at 1x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, 1x USB 3.0 (upstream), 2x USB 3.0 (downstream) and 1x Headphone. LG quotes a Tilt / Height / Pivot Adjustable Stand. The LG UltraGear 27GN750 monitor is available for $399.

60hz is not for me, if that is what you like, than enjoy.

I'm high refresh for life, and have been since QNIX 1440p high refresh monitors in 2013 or 2012.

also 32" 4k has a hard time scaling for older games, its not worth my time modding scales and UI's like Dragon Age Origins. 27" 1440p is plug and play for everything, makes life easier

This is perfect for competitive twitch shooters.

youtube videos are in 60 fps now and it looks like 90 fps cause the 60 fps youtube smoothing does to it...

1080p is fine at 17.3 and 21.5" imo, but 23 and 24" i don't like seeing the pixels.

1440p just looks very clear to me and 27" makes it more immersive

umm go watch any video that supports 60 fps on youtube? any game channel will do... you can't tell that it looks super smooth compared to regular fps? i have noticed this for 2-3 years now, if not longer, youtube does something special to 60 fps videos you just click on settings on the youtube video and change resolution, look up linustechtips... all his videos support even 1440p and 4k 60 fps, if your internet speed can handle it anyway.

what size of 4k do you prefer? I do intend to get a nice 4k tv (but 120hz native one, they should be coming out this summer with HDMI 2.1) and a ps5 on launch day. im prob going to do a 49" wall mount it and hook ps5 up to it.

Simple, 1080p is still the most widely used gaming resolution and 27" screens are an optimal size. The technology is mature, the resolution standardized and most GPU's can run games in 1080p at high refresh rates on offer by the displays in the article.

That also relates to your own monitor refresh rate. Worth a look. 50hz source material won't look nice on a 60hz monitor, for example. And 24hz is also sub optimal but better. (24 > 48 > 72)

Remember that, 30hz is garbage, 60hz is acceptable, 120hz is recommended and anything above 120hz is luxury.

55 is really big man, for a monitor I'd think twice. You will like it early on... but for prolonged use, ergonomy standards are out the window completely. They already really are at 34 inch unless you sit far enough. Maybe one thing you might wanna wait for it affordable 48 inch OLED because I believe those are coming soon or already out.

I already accepted the fact that oled has a short lifespan, maximum 5 years or so and if we think about, most of us change monitors around that time.

I would agree with you if I did not use glasses hehe, when I take off my glasses I cant see very far hehe but I do understand your point, the more you sit away the less ppi matters but that is when ppi matters hehe, bigger screen and that with low ppi things will look crap.

You know not everyone can or wants to game at 1440p ~2160p specially if you can't afford the GPU ($1000+ here) to push high FPS at high res I'd buy one to use with my RX580 and when I get enough money together to grab a better GPU the monitor will still be a beast for 1080p plus it's IPS so it's going to look good (hopefully)
