What about Ti, SUPER and Ti SUPER ?

Super only existed to tell us Turing went from shit to not all too shit.

I doubt they'll want to repeat that

But yes, this 'leak' is full of nonsense. I didn't even bother much to dive into it actually, when I read 3090 my mind goes elsewhere. Also, Titan Ampere on a hard launch along with the rest? Total BS, makes zero sense.

What WILL happen is a 3080 launch on a GA104 die, or something along those lines. Nvidia will NEVER launch the biggest SKU first in this gen, its a new node, so yields will prob not even allow it.

2016 calling

Was gonna type that yesterday, yeah.. There is ALWAYS a product with an X. Always.

As someone who is finally looking to upgrade after 5-6 years, the amount of blue balling going on here is really getting on my nerves. Just release the friggin' specs and a expected shipping date. Absolutely ridiculous, this whole charade.

Stop following the news, and wait for cards on shelves, read reviews, buy card when availability is good.

Its never good to anxiously await new GPUs, and much more comfy to buy mid-gen. You avoid early adopter woes, drivers are solid, prices are normalized. This applies to... almost all purchases ever ;)

Yes, and there will be some clock speed improvement as well, but even if we can get to 120Hz at 4k in current gen titles, it may not be enough next year (or in CP 2077 - edit: or in any Assassin’s Creed game).

As for who needs 4k at 120Hz - plenty of tvs support it, 27” 4k monitor prices are getting lower and lower too (looking at the EVE Spectrum - I paid a similar amount for a 27” 1440p 60Hz IPS monitor 9 or 10 years ago). I don’t think it is outrageous to think that in 2020 someone who pays $1000+ for a graphics card will want to pair it with a high refresh rate 4k or ultrawide monitor. Why else would you spend so much on a graphics card?

There are many professionals that require one or several top of the line graphics card to render 3d images. In these cases, the monitor used is secondary.

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
big navi.. i seen it again...errh, and it cant get even near rtx 3090.
It will depend on the size of the 3090.
Given how well 250mm 5700 compete with 12nm chpis 2+ the size, Vega days are gone for NV, there will be no comfort in the high end.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

steam stats. Less than 2% of users on steam rock 4k. I wonder how many of those are 120hz...

So clearly not a significant market... but one that is slowly gaining. Hell an overwhelming majority run 1080p or less..

I personally think the advantage over 60 Hz is just placebo.
The difference is significant. I cant tell you how many people have walked into my room and stood over my shoulder C
commenting on how smooth 144/165hz is over 60hz. Even on the desktop. Im sorry you can't see it...it's not a placebo, however.

The numbers I see are 2,17% for 4k screens, while the cumulated numbers for 2080, 2080 Super and 2080Ti are 2.62%. I'd say it's more or less the same market, way more significant for mindshare than for actual volume.

Apologies. That went up a couple of tenths. My fault.

pretty standard amount of blue balling. i've grown accustomed to the blue ball schedule. i expect the real information to come out in mid july, so i sold my 2080ti a week ago. that way by the time we know what ampere will really be like, ebay's return policy expires :p
bought my 2080ti for $1150 on release day. sold it for $1000 after almost 2 years of use. all thanks to amd not competing, lol.

i wish nvidia would take the gloves off and give us a 6912 core or fatter RTX card. i know it won't happen, but a man can dream.
