well I went to my ex today reseated the CPU same problem but this time I got 1 long beep and 3 short beeps witch means a problem with VGA. I think the whole problem is with the video card its old a GTX 960 so I'm going to buy me a 3080 Asus brand when they come out and give her my 1080 I know it works because I had it on that system with same ram and CPU

I ordered her an EVGA RTX 2070 super if it doesn't work I'll send it back everyone cross your fingers

it's going to be a couple of weeks before we can work on the system again she is always busy but in the meantime, I'll do a lot of reading on the problem like I have been doing. I have found that a lot of people have had the same problem different things cause it so I'll keep trying everything I read.

Hi again well one of the things I'm going to try is updating the BIOS to the latest one try the new video card since I get that VGA error and if I feel up to it try to build it outside of the case but that would be hard on me I'm always in a lot of pain if any of you guys have any ideas I'll appreciate it. I know the memory worked in that system before can't figure it out lol

another thing it could be is the BIOS battery is bad from sitting for a while I'll try replacing it

Hi, all I was at my ex-wife today I worked on her system replaced the bios battery I got her an MSI water cooler installed it installed the new EVGA RTX 2070 super video card flashed the bios to the latest one installed the other two sticks of ram hit bios reset then tried to start the system this time got memory error beep one long beep two short beeps then q code f9. I read it means memory training failed this is getting old it use to work when I had it maybe the motherboard is bad

I sure hope your right I did notice that the rear fan header was not working so I plugged the rear fan into a different header now the rear fan works. next time I'm going to try a bios hard reset

Try reseating the Ram firmly and booting a few times to give Ram training a chance to do it's thing.

Hi, all it will be another two weeks before I can work on my exes computer but from reading a post online there was this guy who had the same problem. he discovered that his backplate was shorting he fixed that and it's working for him. I remember that when I first took off the backplate I used a screwdriver to pry it up in between the adhesive insulator and the backplate when I put it back on the motherboard I noticed there was a few holes in the adhesive insulator so it could be shorting threw the holes. so I'm going to use some electrical tape to cover the holes

The backplate shouldn’t of been glued to the motherboard. All of them I’ve taken off have the glued side on the backplate not the board.

Hi, all well I tried everything I can think of still the second channel on that mobo is dead I think I bent the board too much trying to pull the backplate off I even put on a new backplate still no go it will boot ok in single-channel but in duel channel, I get one long beep and two short which means memory problem. today I looked on Amason and found a crosshair vi hero wifi for 200 so I bot that for her and it's brand new too, I hope it works this time.

What are you doing that’s using 64GB of system RAM? I’m usually having trouble bumping into the limit for 32GB. Windows disk caching is quick to use the free RAM.
