Hi, I wanted to buy ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme III to cool my gtx 1070 ti titanium and I have no idea if it will fit or not. I contacted arctic support but the didn't reply. does anyone have any idea?
the PCB design is the same as the gaming x edition but I am not sure of that either. the card is getting very hot on stock settings (83c) I had to lower power limit to 90 so that the card stays at 72-75c.
I tried everything I cleaned it, changed the thermal paste, changed the case airflow, added more fans to the case (6 in total), put a fan directly under the card but nothing seems to work.

Your GPU could just be a leaky bin that puts off more heat needing more voltage than a bin that is less leaky, and at a lower voltage.

There use to be a AISC quality reading in GPU-Z that reported the AISC quality of your GPU. I believe it was retired.

Have you ncreased the stock fan speed via a custom fan profile, instead of lowering the power limit (and max boost clocks, as a result) and see what results you get?

However, if you have high ambient temperatures - say around 35-40°c - you can expect higher CPU and GPU temps compared to those you may see in reviews where the ambient is usually around 20-26°C.

I put an Accelero X3 on my Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070. It was well worth it. The card runs cooler and is basically silent under any load. Temps max in the mid 60s under synthetic load and in the mid-to-high 50s under real world loads.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit on your card.

The great thing about doing it to your card is that you won't have to install the VRM and memory heatsinks since it has a frontplate.

It should fit fine, the hole spacing will work okay, the only issue I can think of might be circuit board components clearing the fins, but I really doubt that will be a problem. As said by others, skip the little heatsinks the Accelero kit provides as you already have a large one on your card.

90C this is regular temperature for most electronic active components, and electrolytic capacitors over VGA they are made to operate at 120C for 10.000 hours or more.
OCing the card at it limits its not going to help any one at the game score board.

I am not talking about that.

A 1070 didn't hit 83c even with the stock FE cooler.

Edit: never mind, this is a 1070ti, 83c is still basically as bad as a blower.

As long the ambient temperature this is always missing from such comparisons you may accept the numbers with plus / minus 8% deviation at the recorded 83C .
Use a calculator and punch the numbers so to get the possible range of temperatures from Lowest to Highest.

World wide average of ambient temperature this is 23C , you may also apply to this plus / minus 8% deviation.

All of that is true, however my point is about the cooler itself, it's just unusually bad and no better than a reference one.

At high quality GPU coolers, the measure of success this has to do with best engineering in use at cooling down the heat-pipes.
Reference design this will always be the poor relative, an single aluminum block with lots of fins and a noisy fan.
They think that all Gamers will use headphones and fan noise will be blocked.

It will fit. But Keep the heatsinks that cover the memory and the vrms on in the first pic. That is a lot better than the small little heatsinks you might get with the acelero package. there is really no reason to remove them
thank you. I think the heatsink that covers the memory and the vrms has direct contact with the main card heat sink which has a place for thermal pads I don't think the acelero has one like that.

Your temperatures are completely normal. Having said that, you can expect temperatures in the low 60's with the arctic cooler which will give you some overclocking headroom.
I had Asus Strix 1070 oc edition it never exceeded 73c even with overclocking so either MSI cooler is not as good or the chip on this card is a bad one.

Have you ncreased the stock fan speed via a custom fan profile, instead of lowering the power limit (and max boost clocks, as a result) and see what results you get?

yes, it is hot in my country but the ac in my room keeps the temps at 30c. I set the fans curve at 67c-100% and that didn't change anything.

I put an Accelero X3 on my Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070. It was well worth it. The card runs cooler and is basically silent under any load. Temps max in the mid 60s under synthetic load and in the mid-to-high 50s under real world loads.

thank you for sharing this. my only concern is that the PCB is very different from the FE edition and the front plate is in direct contact with the main heat sink which has a place for the thermal pads. the accelero doesn't have such a thing.

Otherwise your card would end up as ugly as mine.... I had to buy extra heatsinks for my 1080Ti because the Acelero Xtreme IV package didnt come with the small memory heatsinks. the black heatsink on the VRM was purchased off amazon with thermal adhesive/epoxy also off amazon.

I personally chose a cheap AIO with Kraken G12, it was roughly the same cost and it cooled better and I didn't need any extra heatsinks.

I have basically the same card a GamingX.
It rarely goes above 70ºC . With 30-32ºC ambient.
Did you try to repaste it or undervolt the card ? Bellow are my results with a 0.931V under volt.

oh, you used Acelero Xtreme IV. It has so many bad reviews so I decided to go with the extreme iii do I need to buy anything with it? as buying from amazon will take a month to get the stuff delivered to my country.

I considered that but g12 price is much higher from what the company website says(19.99$). it cost on amazon 43$ and it would only fit with very specific aio's must of them above 100$ also keep in mind air coolers have a much better life span than aio's.

sounds more like your case is an amazon box sealed with flextape..
my case is Thermaltake view 22 tg

Technically any asetek AIO will fit (the round ones that have those clamp things), anyway I guess I was just lucky I found a really cheap Thermaltake AIO.

Asetek is the company that actually makes the pumps and all that for manufacturers, they're all the same design, this is why most will fit.

get a proper case and your thermal problems are gone.
I doubt that the case is the problem it has good airflow and the CPU rarely exceeds 50c with Noctua NH-d14. I also tried leaving the side panel open didn't notice any difference.
