Here are some GPU readings for those interested. I logged GPU-z for about 2 hours.

The dips are likely the cutscenes I experienced or menu times.

Raw log attached as well if you want to look it over.

Full screen mode is enabled and all settings unless indicated are maxed out (High, Ultra Psycho)

The notable settings are:

I disable Film grain

I have DLSS manually set to "Quality"

I do not use Either the Static or Dynamic CAS settings both are disabled.

It's pretty non scientific but figured id share. My CPU sits at around 40% while running the game the entire time, which was a little surprising to me, I didn't anticipate it would use the CPU so heavily.

That said, I don't track FPS so I don't have that logged, but I haven't experienced hitching or perceived fluidity issues with the game. Not to say it's not happening. Just that my monitors are 60hz or more likely the game is just "steady" somewhere around 30+ FPS.

I've been pretty lucky I havent experienced any of the issues like C2D or massive game breaking bugs or FPS loss like others.

My wife got the PS4 edition, and the textures are mega washed out, but with a free upgrade to the PS5 edition im not really concerned and she doesn't care.

Performance aside, games fun! Initial few hours were pretty rough. UI is VERY different and it took me a bit to acclimate.

Thanks for the breakdown! That will probably help more than a few.

Extremely disappointed with the game from a technical point of view, it's not that it runs poorly but this isn't exactly the Crysis of this generation in terms of visual, it looks good but nothing to write home about. Anyway, now I know why they made sure to release the game after PS5 and Series X launched, because this is what you get on previous gen consoles, it's basically unplayable :

I can't imagine paying 60$ for that. Apparently they gave out copies to reviewers only for the PC and new consoles, nice way to sweep dirt under the rug.

You can surely squeeze out better settings? Here's my (more refined than before) setup right now for 50-60 FPS @ 3440x1440

The big ones are volumetric fog quality; shadows beyond medium - close shadows at high is a big visual win though and the hit isn't that major. FidelityFX is the magic bullet - at 80 static scaling you gain a crapload of performance and the IQ hit kinda fades after some time looking at it. There are some minor graphical glitches such as actors moving in closely, will leave a smokey colored trail, it looks a bit odd in some story cutscenes only.

Did anyone notice this yet? Surely its not intentional? :p And its EVERYWHERE

Settings:

Drool. Too bad photo mode is uber clunky and normal screenshots do it better, but man. I'm gonna go sightseeing some day.
I may have to try your settings when I start. Your screens look great!

Not sure if the stealth tutorials wasbugged (i think it was) apparently i was supposed to use my cyberware to tag targets but i was zooming in and facerolling over my keyboard for 10mins trying to tag things and nothing happened so just quit the game.

I also forgot to save the game so im crossing my fingers that i havent lost about an hour of game time lol.

Otherwise the game runs good. lowest frames im getting is between 40-50fps on ultra@1440p. I have the fps capped at 80

I got the game to work sort of. I have to load a early save that didn't crash, then load the save that did crash and then play until it crashes again. then repeat the same thing over and over.

The Devil's in the detail!
The team must have spent some considerable time on rendering humans because they are without doubt the most realistic I've ever seen in a game. That first struck me when I started the character customisation at the beginning. I was, wow!

No walk? Isn't the default movement walking and Shift enables running? Or is it that NPCs dont move aside?
Alas no, I'd called it more fast walking rather than running. When an NPC is walking in front of you, you tend to walk the same speed as them, but you gotta walk behind them otherwise you might "run" past them. It only really bothers me when you gotta follow someone. You can sneak of course which is slow but a little awkward at times.

Oh btw, your previous post #397 with most settings at medium gave me +90 fps. :D

Oh that, yes I noticed it but it didn't bother me yet. The game wants to automate that follow walk for you, sorta. I'm not opposed tbh, always hate doing that myself - even games that give you a walk speed always are a bit too slow or too fast to truly hang onto someone.. TW3 was a mess if I recall correctly... Here you can and with no effort. Gotta let the game do it.

So the only way I can get 60 fps consistently is to lower my resolution to 2560x1440 and use "low" for my graphic settings. I can run high and 1920x1080p but it looks even worse due to my screen being a 4k unit. Dropping to 1080p looks like crap. 2560x1440 look really good and switching between low and medium doesn't make much of a difference visually but it adds about 10 fps if on low.

In the city, it seems to be fairly steady at 60+ fps with some dips into the mid to upper 50's and as high as 70 fps at the peak.

I need a better graphics card!

Well seems like I'm not the only one pissed at the stupid key binding of CDPR or lack thereof in their own forums there's 13 pages of people pleading for cdpr to allow full key remapping instead of hard binding certain keys to only be what they (CDPR) want them to be

Speaking of this, has anyone else had issues with middle click actions not working in the game?

I know it isn't my mouse since middle-clicking works with other things.

Gamed for few hours without a single crash.

I locked to 50FPS. My 1080ti is clocked at max 2100MHz all the time and kinda this combo makes it fairly playable at QHD. In settings I cut down some shadow settings.

Ran through Act 1 today, and started Act 2, so far bugs have been minimal, performance on my reference 1070 is unsurprisingly bad at 2k, 20-25 fps with the default settings, using the medium settings gets me 30-40 fps, which I find playable, so far I'm enjoying the game.

A day later, no crashes yet. ALOT of graphical bugs/glitches though. Seen complaints about so many different things, CDPR have alot of work infront of them. It'll be great game, but in couple of months.

The Devil's in the detail!
The team must have spent some considerable time on rendering humans because they are without doubt the most realistic I've ever seen in a game. That first struck me when I started the character customisation at the beginning. I was, wow!

I was wondering who would post a Titty pic first.....

This is why I'm waiting for the 3070 Ti before upgrading, assuming of course the TDP of the 3070 Ti isn't too close to the 3080 (which consumes too much power for me).

I just played on my old rig for a few hours with no issues (aside from lackluster performance). I did the Nomad start on this rig.

At 2560x1440, low settings, dynamic resolution scale from 50% to 100%, I get 20-30 FPS outdoors and 30-40 FPS indoors. I didn't have any crashes, interestingly, and I'm even running an older GPU driver (456.71). I installed the game from the offline installer; no GOG Galaxy on this system. It's also running Win10 20H2

My old rig has an i7-2600K at stock clocks, 16GB of DDR3-1600, a GTX 780 3GB that clocks to 980MHz under sustained loads and the game is running off of 7200RPM spinning rust.

I might try a few things like deleting GOG Galaxy and reinstalling the game with the offline installer (maybe on my boot SSD or my data HDD). I might also try updating Windows to 20H2 and/or even doing a fresh start. My main rig has less of an excuse to run the game like shit now.

Also in terms of VRAM usage, the 780 stayed pegged at 2.9 to 3GB the whole time.

I dont know but if I see the Rtx on / dlss on visuals and perf and put it next to mine Im not impressed with the performance for that IQ level/improvement. Maybe its different in motion but even the videos... just SSR does it so well already... Im hitting similar FPS without RT on a GPU half the speed of a 3080. Like... 2 gens later?! Pfew

I can actually say I can play this game just fine on an ancient 1080. Graphically I think the game and perf then gets zomparable to The Division (1) somehow got reminded of that game several times yesterday while playing.

The performance is alright on 2560x1080 with a 1660 super, but man, the lack of DLSS is such a punch in the guts. If I knew that it would get so good I would have spend more for a RTX 2060, GTX are not aging well at all.

And with the current state of thing , even used RTX 2060 are overpriced

I can't imagine paying 60$ for that. Apparently they gave out copies to reviewers only for the PC and new consoles, nice way to sweep dirt under the rug.
Ummm, next-gen version is backcomp of last gen.
