Thanks for the info. Mine runs most of the time at 875mv, so If I set minimum GPU to 1800, 875mv is not enought :/. I just want to keep high frames steady. Right now, I still play on 1080P, but I guess upgrading to 1440p could help alot to keep high GPU frequency most of the time.

Note: don't ask why I play on 1080P, I want to keep the card for a long time, with high frames :) hahaha

Setting the minimum and maximum frequency slider with 100MHz offset to each other can help to keep the frequency within a certain window.

Seems like the voltage is more dependent on Min/Max GHz range you set, rather than voltage slider. Wonder if that’s changed anyhow with new drivers. Didn’t test yet.

So I managed to flash ultimate bios on my toxic in Linux.
It works but there are some issues...

First of all driver still knows you dont have a xtxh stepping so if you go past 3000 or 2150 you get driver reset.

The second issue is, Vcore stays at 1018mV...

In essence theres 0 reason for any of you to attempt to flash this bios on your card. It doesnt work

Another dangerous thing, if you dont have dual bios you will brick the card and youll need to flash it on Linux via another gpu because you will not get vga output outside of Windows, not even bios will show up.

Thanks for the information.
That is exactly what I was saying. XTXH is different product stack so I think it is similar experience you had to people who flashed 6900XT bios onto 6800XT cards leading to bricking their cards. o_O
There is thread at igor's lab forum where people has already discussed this.

Seems like the voltage is more dependent on Min/Max GHz range you set, rather than voltage slider. Wonder if that’s changed anyhow with new drivers. Didn’t test yet.
Yes that is the case. With min max slider you give boost algorithms a reference frequency window where it will try to keep the card.
What I noticed also is that on 6900XT stability is achieved if you give drivers 200MHz window rather 100MHz like on 6800XT.
6900XT has usually more clock variation and if you Ocing it very high it needs larger window because it can get power limited and clock need to go down a little.
This the case for my 6900XTU (Liquid Devil Ultimate).
I have it currently at 2750MHz@1175mV and lower slider at 2550MHz. 2650MHz was causing stability issues in very intensive seen where clock want to go lower than 2650MHz.
I have currently 382W core power setting on it which is default for Unleash bios.
I have not yet played around with MPT.

I had the same problem with my MSI MERC 319 6800XT. Whenever I tried to undervolt in Wattman the voltage was stuck to 875mv. The card was very unstsable. So I used More Power Tool and set max voltage there instead. I like my card cool and quiet so max is set to 900mv. Then I set max freq to 2200mhz and min freq to 2100mhz in Wattman. That works very well and then fan is never over 1200rpm

So I got the Toxic limited, been playing around with wattman and mpt for ages, still cant hit 2.7Ghz. Any tips for hitting 3ghz? Someone told me it was possible without a block/LN, I still haven't found a way to do so. Only thing I know is that max mem clock is 2150.

I guess it is silicon lottery.
I had a Toxic before also which I returned.
That was not able to hit more than 2620MHz.
Nothing I tried had helped there also. Pushing core power to 384W and 384A TDC with MPT did not help to increase the limit there.
There are very rare 6900XT samples out there that can reach 2.7GHz.
I have not seen one that can hit 3GHz. I have reading around many forums.
Now with 6900XT made out of XTXH silicon this could be possible. :D
I will try to hit 3GHz with my 6900XT Liquid Devil Ultimate. This is an XTXH silicon card and with my initial test I am already hitting 2.7GHz in games. :D
My setting is 2750MHz@1175mV and default powerlimit of my card is already 382W with 15% slider in Radeon driver.

With memory setting one need to be careful. These cards allow you to set 2150MHz but in many cases actually Time Spy score gets lower when you go higher than 2100MHz.
You need to test step by step memory frequencies and check at which point the score start to decrease.
My 6800XT before had max 2110MHz going higher dropped Time Spy score dramatically.
I haven't tried memory oc on my 6900XTU until now.

Since yesterday I have now a new power supply BeQuiet Dark Pro 12 1200W Titanium and now will work on tuning my brand new Liquid Devil.

I cleaned my custom loop including the GPU block this week because of some deposit issues. I was shocked with what I found upon opening up the GPU block. They ate it all up. DSC05930.JPGIMG-3545.jpgIMG-3544.jpg

Did you try using wattman to bump power up 50%? Right now I'm sliding max clock to 2.7Ghz, mem to 2150mhz, power to 50%, but wattman keeps freezing every time i try.

ok yea cant reach anything. All I'm doing is 15% uncap with wattman. Manual overclock seems to hit 2662Mhz, somehow Toxic Boost is stuck at 2620. So leaving Toxic boost disabled lets it run faster? At the expense of 16Gbs instead of 16.8Gps memory?

My Toxic does 2680/2700 effective on Core on games.
My 6800XT Nitro+ SE did more, around 2750 Mhz effective.

About memory, both my 6800XT and 6900XT do 2150 Mhz with fast timings but now that you speak about performance degradation, I didn't test for that. Guess I should.

About Toxic Boost, 16.8Gbps is probably memory slider maxed out or close to so manually overclocking it should yield better performance.

oc'ing vram really doesn't gain anything for games. I leave my vram at default, and OC gpu core only with power slider at 15. 2100 min and 2600 max, and strong fan curve. i typically get 2400-2500mhz in games. that's where the fps comes from, honestly not sure why people bother oc'ing vram, i never seen it give me more fps.

I just got my reference 6900xt today. But holy junction temps. After about 10 minutes in rdr2, my gpu temp was 73C and my junction temp was fluctuating between 102C and 108C. Cranking the fans up to 90% will get the JT down to 102C and removing the glass panel did nothing. Errrffff.....I think it is time to just block it.

Do I get it right that Radeon software conflicts with msi afterburner? Always get errors in RDR2 when I turn it on. If so, anyone tried to run drivers only and do everything else (tweaking, monitoring) via afterburner instead?

What case are you using? Usually, when the fans are cranked up, there should be a noticeable drop in temp, I'd expect that at 90% fanspeed, the JT should be in the 90's, unless airflow isn't ideal.

You cannot bump power by 50% in Wattman.:p
It is only possible to do 15% there.
To push high one need to use MPT.

When I had 6900XT Toxic I also noticed that when you have Trixx installed and tried to manually tune stuff in Radeon Driver then there were conflicts.

Additionally, I just put a higher rpm exhaust fan in and removed all glass panels. 68C GPU temp and 104 Junction temp.

So turns out +150 on memory actually causes regression.

+100 gives me the best results. Thanks for the headsup, completely overlooked this.

To finish my headaches going back and forth, I just enabled Toxic Boost which gives +100 to memory and 2660 to core.

Glad I was able to help. :)
I noticed that myself some time ago when I was experimenting with the 6800XT.
Lot of cards only go 2100MHz before you get regression.
