Resident Evil Village is the first Resident Evil with support for raytracing. The game looks fantastic, yet achieves very high FPS on all graphics cards. Especially GPUs using the AMD RDNA2 architecture deliver amazing performance, even with raytracing enabled.

by looking at comparison section , I can't see big different between RT On/Off. right now I played demo version and works well with RX480.

As usual the most apparent RT is the refection on the floor etc.

Wait, did you say $79?

OMFG.

I'll pass. I'd understand if it was like 30 hours long. But that's silly level pricing. I'll maybe play it when it's on sale.

80 EUR? No, thank you. Worst thing is, I know others will try to do this too.
P.S.
RT screenshots look almost if they are in the wrong side. I guess the implementation is really bad, the only good one is with the floor reflections.

There is a typo on RT performance tables with an GTX 1660 Ti that don't support RT and showing the same performance that we can see at non RT performance tables.

Back then when Capcom release hardware requirement, many bashing 6900XT for same tier as RTX 3070 equivalent, well this graph proves otherwise.
Also @W1zzard , are you sure you've done testing right? I've found some interesting tidbit here.

RTX 3060 outpaced GTX 1660Ti without RT.

But with RT, somewhat opposite, RTX 3060 now slower.

IDK where the $80 price tag comes from, for me it shows up as $60 on Steam in a RE:Village + RE:Verse bundle.
It is the RE7 + Village bundle that costs $80.

Fixed now, I had the 1660 in the RT charts by accident

I naturally am referring to MSRP of $450 vs $550. And note - one is SOLD OUT while the other isn't...

My Microcenter had 5900X at $550 in stock from Thursday to Saturday morning last week. They've since followed suit and jacked the price to $700. 25+ in stock all week. :(

If we're going by street price logic, every goddamn part in the test build is overpriced.

  • "Rendering Mode" lets you enable interlaced rendering—a legacy feature of the Resident Evil Series. It's not really that useful today.

Nah, it's actually a new highly efficient form of Checkerboard-Rendering. It increases FPS by about 50% while the loss in image fidelity is not big. A dramatic step up the interlaced rendering in Resi 7. PCGH reviewed it here:

It works very well and reconstructs details nicely. It's no DLSS but it is a great substitute when DLSS is not available. (But disable VRS, as it is buggy with interlaced rendering)

It is definately highly recommended for lower spec RT hardware and is used on the consoles as well.

Techpowerup alway make me happy with their review. Thank you for your hard work.
I've already played castle demo, I founded that the performance of RX560 4GB is not good at full-hd medium.
Frame rate can drop to 30-40 frequently. I can only use it for temporary solution.

5.7Gb Vram usage, at 900p... wow, sucks for all the 1650 Super and RX 5500XT 4GB owners :(

If Nvidia release RTX 3050 Ti with 4gb, during a time when CROSS GEN TITLES, eats up all the vram, people are going to be pissed.

I'll pass. I'd understand if it was like 30 hours long. But that's silly level pricing. I'll maybe play it when it's on sale.

Have a look at the 6GB 5600 XT vs 8GB 5700 XT in this game: Since 1080p VRAM usage fits in the 5600 XT's 6GB buffer, 1440p VRAM usage just barely fits, while 4K VRAM "only" fits in the 5700 XT's buffer, you'd expect the performance to tank on the 5600 XT at 4K:

1080p - 27.6% faster 5700 XT
1440p - 26.3% faster
4K - 24.4% faster

Doesn't look like the "shortage" of VRAM hindered the 5600 XT much.

And the 4GB 5500 XT got 76fps at 1080p. Why would someone think that sucks?
