NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti, 3060 LHR Tested in Cryptomining Workloads

Time is running out to mine ETH, soon the new Innosilicon A11 Pro 8GB 2000Mh will launch, greatly increasing the difficulty, while decreasing $/day, PoS is also on the horizon. You would be nuts if you invested in "mining" equipment now, especially after the bubble seems to have popped and markets are moving downwards. Equipment won't pay itself off in years to come as ETH will move away from PoW. I am not a miner but to invest now is an extremely high risk scenario at this point in time.

From my research, moving to another coin won't simply fix the problem of profitability, it will take time.

I read the article about the interview with the guy that did that and he said he did it just to piss gamers off. What a jackass.
Looking on the bright side, he can't safely park it anywhere in public now. ;)
With those babies in view, he'll return to smashed windows and the GPUs gone.

Mining should be banned. It is respoonsible for at least 110 Terawatt Hours which is like sweden in total as a country. Do we really need this? No.
Banks should be banned for keeping electricity on from non renewable sources, all electric cars should be banned since they take electricity to charge. Gaming should be banned because it takes electricity. Would you like me to keep going on? There is 0 difference between you playing a game and someone mining to make money.

The problem is that miners are using gaming cards for mining to the point that gamers can't even buy one unless they don't mind getting scalped. If you want to know why I insist that RTX 3xxx and 2xxx are gaming cards then visit the site put up by Nvidia to market the cards to their intended audience. Here's the link:

You will read about the 3xxx and 2xxx cards and their great value as gaming cards and absolutely nothing about the gaming cards as great for mining. They were never intended for miners by Nvidia.

Nvidia for that same reason really needs to make a compute/mining-centered card that blows all previous cards out of the water on that workload, but can't game.

Yes, that will likely require a new gpu arch, but it'd be worth it.

The banking system is arguably responsible for more power consumption. This is a bad argument.
Only if you ignore the per transaction power consumption. The global banking system transfers trillions of dollars every day, while crypto in the tens of billions while using half the power (at least 100x more per transaction).

That's the thing that most miners don't see when they make a direct comparison between total crypto energy usage and total banking system energy use. No one I know even uses crypto but everyone I know uses a checking account, CDs, credit cards, a debit card, a safe deposit box, go to physical branches, use ATMs and most have a mortgage and a car loan. Banks provide services for hundreds of millions of people so of course as a whole they use more power in total.

Still wondering that why they don't entirely disable this toy money crap..

Depends on the coin in question. This is certainly true for bitcoin but doubtful it is true for all coins.

As I said earlier, I strongly believe we are in a "beta" phase of cryptos development.

Because you don't know people that have or use crypto doesn't mean that people don't use it.
I know people who mine and use crypto but I also know people who watch and star in pron movies.

I don't imagine anything other use for crypto than buying something illegal shit from deep web.

Hi,
Governments are trying to figure out how they can get their cut first
If they fail to effectively get enough they will ban it's use until they can get the free funds out of coin exchanges and the individuals that have and use it.
Governments produce nothing but taxes and fee's

You can't really plan anything on top of crypto's volatility.
But yes, if it's income, it should be taxed as such.

Yes, my EVGA z270 FTW I bought from newegg some years back was certainly imaginary/illegal. Heck, why not both.

that's a /s, it should go without saying but...

What people will be learning that even if crypto goes down, you can still mine but just hold onto it and wait for it to go up again before selling.

It needs adding to the tax system, then I guess loads would stop. Governments need to get a hold of digital currency exchanges where people sell it and tax at that point.

this will not be a paper launch.
June 23rd 2021, cough cough, yeah it was once again. Nvidia is after only money and is not for any party except the ones carrying the most cash. This LHR crap is only to pre pump the hype BS train for their overpriced mining only Ewaste nightmare everyone should be crying about instead of that miner got my card, no actually that scalper got your card miners are just for the most part in the position to buy that over priced card from the scalper.

They already do that and it has not stopped anyone BTW have been doing it for 6 months now and take a look at the first quarter of 2021. That said, lets give credit where credit is due, it is not miners that are causing the supply shortage but scalpers and it is also not out of the question that NVIDIA limits how much they make now to rise that demand in the consumer market for gpus, knowing for a fact scalpers will get the cards and pretty much only miners and well off money wise consumers can even afford to buy one, then pump out the LHR cards to piss off miners to in turn get them to buy the ewaste mining only cards Nvidia had planned beginning to middle of last year for this year, then consumer cards back on shelves with one catch, the price is 25-50% MSRP vs before, all because of the situation having the greedy nvidia dumping gas on the fire on purpose for profit, once again it is all about the money, Nvidia is smart enough to know LHR cards for 1 ALGO would do nothing but make those who Nvidia want's to buy their ewaste mining only 2021 cards angry, but for what it is worth, Nvidia may have announced this but NO WHERE on the box or card does it mention LHR, a huge lawsuit could be slapped on them with 10s of million jumping on board to the false advertising that has taken place with ZERO indication the card in the box is LHR which is the same as selling damaged product except they did it on purpose, they would lose in half a heart beat in court, if I was a lawyer I would be all over that like files to sh** because it is coming and I hope Nvidia loses 100 million plus in the process to teach them you cannot play with consumers minds, hearts and wallets and not face any penalty. Context, if they limited all algos then Nvidia would have a defense but to target one algo for a test run then apply same to all RTX cards is targeting the future buyers of their mining only cards, meaning they did not place LHR on the box or card on purpose to get future sales from the only crowd of consumers wanting that card to not have a lite hash rate on ethereum, that is illegal under US law and international trade law btw I cannot wait for a huge group of hard up miners to start the lawsuit against them and run them through the dirt. They are the company who has mentioned many times before they want to charge monthly for drivers and rental of gpu cloud gaming to in that order to replace making massive e-waste card for shelves, yet at present they do not even seem to have a shortage or care about e waste only money, their agenda and ethics on the whole is for themselves and profit, I do not see them winning a case with these facts and terms in any court of law in any nation

They could, but there are dozens of privacy coins that they probably use themselves to hide wealth as have 10s of millions over the years along with the anonymous exchanges to turn it into an easy to liquidate off the books crypto in 1 transaction all with no one knowing anything except so and so address somewhere on earth turned this much privacy coin into this crypto then fiat and that is all the info they have and probably ever will have, bitcoin began almost 2 years before the surface web knew it existed, it is a hacker creation and a good one, a currency that cannot be stolen before you get it "taxes on a paycheck get money stolen before you get it because the government does not even give you the chance to pay, they assume all citizens cannot be trusted and are tax evaders doing this" so you keep your wealth in a vault no government of thief can break in and have a glory day with, your transaction history has no info other than how much is in a wallet and what was sent at so and so time to so and so address not geo locate data or personal info unless your on an exchange. All and all a currency the common person can control, that cannot be stolen, audited, frozen, drained dry because the government says you owe them, and at this moment in time the largest bitcoin holder has but 10% of the sum total, with the majority having 1-8% closer to that lower number, that means the invention was a success and the sooner people wake up to the fact that this is what makes crypto better than government controlled fiat currency the better off all normal people will be. Those who rule have forgotten they only have power and the wealth to so have that power because of their citizens to which today it is common practice to take as much as they like from them for any given cause and pretend to have our best interests at heart when we all know it is a show and a game that has gone on for to long and needs to change with a nice wake up call to so remind them, the people are what matters and the source of all their power, wealth and might, this is the essence of the group who created bitcoin purpose, and I would say the plan is panning out very well thus far. Remember this long run on sentence about a decade from now, you will see.
