Are you sure? Netflix, Youtube and Facebook should all be using AV1 if supported...I've never used av1 in my life, don't plan to and it doesn't matter when the CPU is beastly.
It's an oem cpu that's available for enthusiasts, b/c supply is good, now.
Hardware decoder is definitely better than going to the CPU for it, if not faster then much-much more efficient.
However, it is only latest iterations of GPUs that have hardware AV1 decoding, in addition to RDNA2 Nvidia's Ampere and Intel's Xe. We have known for a while that 5000G is still Vega. So not that big of a surprise.
