Seems error-free for me right now, though a few news articles from the past few days seem to be missing pictures entirely.

These attachments are permanently lost due to a configuration error. When the "normal" servers came back online, the "safe mode" servers synchronized their files with them, like they're supposed to continuously do in normal non-safe-mode operation. I forgot to plan for that scenario when I wrote the scripts

You can't insert quotes from news article. You can quote the news article, you can select it via Insert Quote and all you get is a big nothing.

I thought they did that for a reason, but it eludes me. It's been like that for some time, at least that I can recall I haven't been able to quote a news article for the past year or two.

aaaaand we're back to our main servers.

As previously announced, the posts you made between "safe mode" getting enabled and now are gone. If you really really need to recover some post text, send me a pm asap, I can pull it out manually.

If you're working "what just happened?": Our server hosting company decided to pull the plug on us again. Again with minimal notice. Once the servers were reconnected they forgot to connect our internal networking. When they "fixed" connected that, they ended up swapped the public and internal network cables. After a couple of hours I've got 2 servers fixed through tickets and then suddenly the dude disappeared and hasn't been back since. This was 8 hours ago. No ticket updates since. So I decided that we can run with two servers and brought those online.

We'll be moving to another server hosting company very soon

With customer service like that they could find themselves out of business, the sooner the better.

Exactly .. I'm certainly not the only customer that's unhappy. Their service used to be really good, now it's terrible. This could actually be a sign of going out of business: cutting support, because support humans = cost. Quite broken English in tickets, too, so maybe farmed out to some cheap 3rd world country.

They can't avoid the cost of the labour. That is ridiculous greed, no human labour (unless some very good machine learning substitutes) means no service at all.
