OT post but please indulge me. Have you played the Dark Souls games created by From Software? They have no cheats and require the player to learn every nuance of every boss to finish the game. It makes most RPG games look like games day at Playskool. Games like CP2077 & the Witcher don't need cheats, they're easy enough considering the difficulty levels. Dark Souls? Brutalistic hardcore punishment. It's almost not a game.

FTR, I've never finished any of them. Not through lack of trying....

I don't equate memorization to skill and have never understood why people think Dark Souls takes skill, it takes memorization trial and error, not skill. Perhaps that is all skill is, if it is... then well that is just sad to me cause I thought it was more than that. I guess timing is a part of skill, but I still feel it more than that, even though I can't describe it.

I think getting 40 people together in 2005 to do a major raid in World of Warcraft required a different kind of skill as well, there is a reason 40 man raids really don't exist at the brutal difficulty level that they used to, and it had nothing to do with timing of attacks back then, it had to do with leadership, keeping everyone on same page on Ventrilo, etc. Those were some fun times.

But to be honest I don't have a definition of skill, so perhaps you are right, but I just feel it is more than just "learning and timing mechanisms" that Dark Souls requires.

Also, I don't necessarily play games because they are difficult, I play for the story/atmosphere/unique ideas. Which is why Endwalker is my game of the year. Best story ever told in the history of humanity. The ending of Endwalker... my ******* God my brain melted, it will never be topped.

See, i've got ADHD. And i cant play games that require that sort of memorization

I need my keybinds the same between every game and shit too, and i've never understood why people love playing games that are difficult just for the sake of being difficult (Dark souls seems to actually be quality, in many different ways - it gets a pass, even if its not for me)

Bought this game during the Winter Sale. First "GTA" style game I've attempted to play. Game looks really interesting. But soon realized I don't have the time to fully enjoy what this game offers. All this back story/lore, what have ya ... constant side jobs/upgrades. Yeah, that takes time. Doom 2016's style is about as much time as I have when it comes to upgrading perks and gear. Can't help but feel I'm missing out on life(like enjoying this game).

I can see why this game took forever to release.

When a game starts to feel like a job, it quickly loses it's luster for a lot of people. Games need to be fun. This is not to say that games shouldn't have challenge, but when the challenge starts to intrude on the fun it just becomes an unpleasantness.

You own the game. There are no rules that say you have to rush through it. Play it one mission at a time. Consider it a long term entertainment investment that doesn't nickel & dime you to death like a lot of games do!

Different kinds of games for different people, really.

The trial/error and 'agility/endurance' based games are of a special kind. Cheats in those games completely counter the whole concept of it. Tetris is probably the clearest example of it. You play for high score, or 'completion' and the game gradually increases the difficulty. Dark Souls is of a similar nature, but adds RPG flavor to it, and the accompanying game of choice/progression. But in the exact same way, most of that gets lost immediately if you could cheat.

As for why cheating is now no longer commonplace in games that are nót like Dark Souls... money. Cheats are being sold now as MTX, and they never work as well as a cheat. Those % boosts, and other P2W stuff. But also: progression gating / time gated content is harder to bring if players can cheat. And: online and cheating is impossible, or not preferable, because people will be comparing and always min/max.

Cheating I think is now more easily referred to as 'modding'. If a game is moddable you can cheat like you always could. If its not... beware, commerce is always ready to provide for you or the whole game is already built like a money pit. Assassin's Creed is a good example, selling boosts in a shop for an open world SP game. Middle-Earth games like Shadow of Mordor did a similar thing.

to be honist when we use cheats we are cheating our selfs :) in over 30 years of gaming ive never come across a game that has to have cheats enabled to finnish but what do i know eh i havnt played every game. i do use mods but there more to making the game to how we want them unless its something like a god mode mod. im looking forward to trying some mods on CP as soon as ive played it all.

its not about finishing, sometimes even after finishing i like to go back to a game like assassins creed and get infinite money and just have a blast at the local shop.

There was no need for it. If you read up, there were numerous exploits in this game to ease up your gameplay.

im just saying how i feel about cheats when first playing, the way you use them is just like a mod to take the game to another level. ive been using the "cheat terminal toolkit mod." in fallout4 vr ever since after my first playthrough and loving it it makes the game never ending.

man you are not getting it... its not about gameplay, story, etc. its about freedom to enjoy w.e i feel like enjoying in the moment. if i want to buy 5 swords, then throw them in the pond to look at different water physics, then ride a horse to the next shop and do the same, and thats what i am in the mood to do, then i want the ability to use cheat codes to do that quickly. im not farming for gold so i can do stupid crap my brain wants to do

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
That actually works on CP2077?
no idea on my side (i rarely use CE aside some particular game that have no trainer or only "premium" trainer at launch ) but i used WeMod on one run with sucess (it's a trainer hub/launcher) and CP2077 is supported for a lot of options (no need for the "Pro subscriptions" nonetheless, it works just fine if you are not the kind that want the "advantages" given by it).

Cheat in single player games is a way to add replayability and silly fun indeed

not compatible list but works fine (well last time i checked )

Use WeMod and works very well. Haven’t played CP2077 so can’t say but it works for some programs that it says it might not. Is free.

Thanks for this. Going to give it a try on a recent game I gave up on because it stopped being fun.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
are these trainers safe to use for single player games? aka no viruses etc? i might give this a go....
Wemod is quite safe, been using it from time to time, compared to downloading trainer from MrAntifun (safe most of the time, but trainers trigger false positive most of the time too) or shady website (well ... don't ... just don't) WeMod is a centralized MrAntifun without the false positive, way more safe than anything i tried before (aside CE )each trainer are checked and they have good scores all around the board.

oh yeah..... wemod trainers by mr antifun its must be for all single player "offline" for any pc games......

but, for this game only, i am using internal cheats mods by nexus mods.....
i only use gameplay improvement from Nexus (aka vehicle handling and some others) thus my initial run and my no cheats run are modded but not "WeModded"

Never heard of it, all I saw ever was those ultra shady CE websites. Never went into it... but Wemod sounds/looks neat.

since 2001 until today..... i am still using mouse in my left hand and keyboard on my right hand, so... some option keyboard on wemod CBP 2077 can make me some difficulty, because i am always using some numpad key for this CBP 2077, also for most all of my pc games..... numpad key it is very very important to me......

ah i see ... well i use a GMMK TKL keyboard with a Logi MX Ergo thus i have no numpad but i bind some shortcut to my Tartarus V2 (heck that thing is the only thing from Razer that did not go bottom side up in the first 6 month of use ... thanks Belkin Nostromo n52 legacy... ) without WeMod Pro it can be a pain in the bottom (no shortcut editing) but manual activation in WeMod works.

most of the time my trainers have binding from F1 to F12 plus modifiers.

Benchmark Scores it sucks even more less now ;)
And after the debacle that was Witcher 3 when it first came out and had un-remappable keys before they changed it due to player anger you'd think that they should have learnt their lesson but here we are new game same problem keys that can't be remapped. Ohwell maybe they'll put it out as a DLC

That doesn't really count as "finishing the game", does it?

Haha.. ask the trophy/achievement afficionado's that and you can look forward to public hanging.

FSR is quite a nice surprise for me. I did a quick benchmark yesterday. And the game with Ultra preset at 1440p with FSR on Ultra runs just 10% slower than at 1080p native and Ultra preset. I might get to finaly play this game since i have it as a pre-order and only sunk about 11 hours in it.
