It's hard to say for me.

I really enjoyed the gaming experience that NES brought - I was (and probably still am if I had the games) a huge fan of the Dragon Warrior games on NES. I never really got into the FF games on this system, but had a few friends that loved them. I enjoyed the countless other games....and some I thought were awful by gaming standards at the time, such as Rambo....that game was awful, but because I had it, I did beat it. What a stupid final boss; helicopter that you throw grenade after grenade while dodging bombs. This Rambo game makes Rambo III look good and Rambo III was awful.

On the other hand, I really liked the RPGs that came on the SNES, such as; Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, Breath of Fire 1 & 2, Lufia 1 & 2, Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger....the list goes on.

Then again, I did play the crap out of RPGs on the Sega Genesis; Shining Force, Phantasy Star series, Shining in the Darkness....but my favorite game was probably a RTS, Dune: Battle of Arrakis. I played through every campaign mission for each faction and I thought it was awesome, the scream the foot soldiers made when you ran them over.

Although, maybe it was the Gameboy. I had all the FF games for it and the Zelda games, I had the attachable Light Boy, got that light for playing in the dark with the screen magnifier....it was awesome!

I shouldn't forget the PSX, loved some of those RPGs: FFVII, The Legend of Dragoon, Breath of Fire III, Legend of Legaia, King's Field 1 & 2

I'd have to say I don't have a favorite console, but I really did enjoy the gaming boom of consoles from the mid 80s to the mid 90s.

Never had a N64, I was a PS1 kid. Also didn't have a SNES either, though I have a broken one which I got from my friend, it needs fixing one day.. :)

I had a Mega Drive as a kid (and NES) but as an adult, I have to say that I didn't like that. The European version of your Americans' Genesis.

Still have the same NES I got in -93 though.

I enjoyed the MD/Genesis just not as much as the SNES. I will admit a few titles were better on it though.

To be honest, there's only few games on MD which I like today, Donald Duck Quackshot and Phantasy Star series.

The SNES was great. The Playstaion was great too. The PS2 actually made me forget about Computers for about 7 years. Psygnosis, Konami, Atlus, Capaom, Square, and I didn't even play Crash. Ace Combat 2, Colony Wars, All the Japanese Fighting Games including 3D, Diablo 2 so many I have forgotten. Many people swear by Gran Tursimo but for me Advan Racing was the best racing Game on the PS2. Socom is the reason I don't do MMO anymore. The PS2 was (for me) the best Console that ever existed. The sheer number of Games and the actually Worldwide production model made the the PS2 (for me) a PC without Windows OS.

F Zero was insane. If you mastered the Purple one it became highly satisfying.

I still play NHL98, my favourite sports game when I was a kid :)
That is the best Hockey Game ever made

My stepson (23) has had every Playstation since PS3, but I think his favourite is the Nintendo Switch because of its portability. He managed to get his hands on a PS5 but finds the games too expensive.
Never used a console myself, so I can only speak for him.

I remember having the Mortal Kombat for SNES and the Genesis. My older brother got the game on the SNES, but I got the game for my Genesis, too. I liked the blood on the Genesis so my friends and I played that version over the SNES.

The thought about Mortal Kombat on the Genesis got me remembering the 32X adapter for the Genesis. I had my favorite fighting game on that adapter system - Virtua Fighter! I could play the game to my heart's content at home and not have to go to the local arcade and play it.

Well, because there were only a few good games for it!

But if you found a Golden Ram, you could be happy!

Really, the 32x should have shipped with exactly the same 2x optical drive as the PlayStation, and just been a standalone console! By the time you deal with all of the issues of the PS1's lack of perspective correction + no billinear means you might be better-off rolling your own software engine.

A higher-clocked, increased ram 32x would have performed faster than the Saturn in most games, and all without the complexity of Quads

PS1 had a better game library in general though if you ask me. :)

It had games I liked and enjoyed playing, why wouldn't I like it? It was short lived, but then again, so was the life of my 32X adapter.....

My stupid older brother (and most likely had help from his "friends") stole 99% of all our game consoles, video games, sports cards/memorabilia and comics to feed his wannabe weed dealer needs - at the time it was probably $25k+ worth of stuff. He was gung-ho on trying to become the biggest pot dealer for his high school that he stole anything and everything that he could easily sell/pawn from our house one day after our parents went to work and everyone went to school. For the 32x I had 7 games; After Burner, Doom, Mortal Kombat II, NBA Jam, Primal Rage, Star Wars Arcade and Virtua Fighter......I never did forgive my brother for stealing all my stuff. He turned out to be a pretty shitty person as years went on. He's never been officially diagnosed, but after all the years living with him and knowing him I can easily say he's a narcissistic, sociopath. Thankfully I haven't had any contact with him for 4+ years and I don't miss the drama, lies and threats.

PS3 because it was not just a console. It was a very good blue ray and media center as well for its time. I used it for game's just as much I used it for Blu-ray movies and media center.

Else Nintendo N64. Yeah I played goldeneye 64 and perfect dark a lot on that console and legend of Zelda as well. Fond memories in deed.

Agree on PS3, I use mine more as a bluray player than for games. Though it needs delidding, it sounds like a jet engine even after repasting and dusting (the fat PAL 80GB model, swapped its drive for a SSD though).

PS1 had a better game library in general though if you ask me. :)
The PS1 made all consoles before it obsolete from that perspective.

Never had a N64, I was a PS1 kid. Also didn't have a SNES either, though I have a broken one which I got from my friend, it needs fixing one day.. :)
Snes was great and it has had a great deal of impact on me. Especially Zelda and Donkey Kong :) I played PS1 since my friends had that one instead. I bought PS3 myself but gave it away last year :D
Nintendo Wii is cool but it is not the same as the childhood snes was for me. Maybe it's because I'm older. Switch is great as well and Zelda Breath of the Wild is just amazing. Waiting for new Switch.
I remember having the Mortal Kombat for SNES and the Genesis. My older brother got the game on the SNES, but I got the game for my Genesis, too. I liked the blood on the Genesis so my friends and I played that version over the SNES.
Mortal Kombat. Remember that one. The only difference with PC the Snes version didnt have blood :)
