I'll be sticking with this corsair as long as I can. I can't do any more spending when I want a monitor, GPU, CPU and cooler, motherboard. If I said ram to the Mrs I'd get castrated.

Most of LPX is utter garbage. It's not even the chips, it's either the binning that they chose or the PCB design they use. Other vendors make better kits with the same ICs.

There are some exceptions. There's a very respectable 3600 14-16-16 2x16GB LPX kit, which can obviously only be one thing: high ish end B-die. Think there's a 3200 14-14-14 kit and some other high end B-dies too, all relatively new kits.

As for yours, 16Gb Rev.B is the best DDR4 chip that Micron can muster. It's found in their high end 4000CL18, 4400CL19 and 5100 kits. All bets are off as to how they perform in a Corsair kit rated much lower than they usually are, but I'd say you should be in a good position there. There are much worse things you can get out of LPX.

Yes utility is only good for reading system it's not great at that either so one use at best.

I think i have corsair lpx stuff but it seems to run fine with a slight overclock.
I've not messed with timmings or anything else though as i am happy with how my system runs.

Generally it just follows Rev.E guidelines, but better. But I don't think Crucial itself puts Rev.B any lower than 3600CL16 kits, so I don't know what to expect from 3200CL16. I run my Rev.E at 4400CL18 for APU duty so Im not very useful

Of course, thaiphoon is not always right about things. It could very well be something else, and on Corsair you have no easy way of knowing unlike G.skill. Only one way to find out, start OCing

Obviously you have more CLDOs to worry about, and tRFC is very different for 3800, but it's roughly where you can expect to start on Micron.

Many people think the QVL is a joke, and don’t pay any attention to it because maybe they know better? With my rig I checked the QVL at G.Skill and Asus.. I really have not had any problems. I have had frustration boxes before and this one is a walk in the park..

I use the QVL as a guideline. If I see say 3600 supported in single rank, dual rank or 4 dimms I know any kit that has the same frequency (regardless of timings) will generally work without issue. I dont need to buy that specific in the QVL list. Just needs to be the same frequency and matching configurations (aka single, rank, etc).

Didn't ever read the other two sets
But these did the same thing until I switched sata port usage.

These were bought a long long time ago when ddr4 was new and prices were complete shit across the board so i skimped on amount back then to save some money
So 4gb sticks are mostly obsolete unless a mother board is restricted in dimm amount yes 4gb sticks should be avoided now days.

4Gb D-die is some of the worst shit Sammy ever made. Plausible from the XMP and age.

But my 4Gb E-die (2.0V overclockers' prime choice to this day, basically crappier B-die) also identifies as D-die, so who knows
