I've thought about upgrading to something in the 21st century, but I don't game, so it's hard for me to justify spending money on something, when what I have works great for my needs. And, I still use my iPhone 6s, still fulfills all I need a phone for, here's the kicker, I'm not tight or frugal, I just have other hobbies, like restoring Go Karts and Riding Mowers, and rebuilding small engines.

4k 144hz on my main computer. I just can't play 1080p. If anything maybe 1440p would suffice if the FPS is too low but I'd rather crank some detail down.

I understand. In the late 90s I didn't have my own PC yet, I had other hobbies, RC cars scale gas 1/10 and 1/5 on and off road which wasn't a cheap hobby, and on my room I had a CDi player with games, movies + internet on TV with CDi.
Good times and I could do without a computer back then.

The point is to show more or less the users' preferences, without too much details. You can choose between the most popular ones, if you don't see the one that you like, just select the closest relative.
It is intentionally an one-choice poll, in order to better understand what is the user favourite.

It is obvious that all of us use multiple resolutions on the different devices that we have. That's not the point.

Why would you say 4k is useless for gaming? I play 3849x2160 and it's been great. I can't imaging moving to a lower res unless I have no choice due to performance issue.

I am using a 4K 3840x2160 as my primary display resolution.
I see that this 3840x2160, together with 2560x1440 are on the rise in the Steam Hardware Survey, while 1920x1080 is on the decline.

It's a pretty dumb statement tbh. I used to use a 27" 1080p monitor, but it looked fine at the back of my desk. My current config with dual 4k screens I have them much closer cause of the DPI. I mean a 1080p 47" TV still looks good when you're sat at the correct distance, but up close would look awful.

2x 25x14@75, currently limited by my KVM. Once KVMs that support DP alt mode over USB-C arrive, i.e. that aren't limited to a hard number of monitor inputs/outputs, arrive I will add another 25x14@75 screen, because current KVMs that support 2 monitors are ridiculously expensive and those that support 3 are ridiculously absolutely stupidly expensive.

1080p means less detail, no matter the distance. The distance only helps you for one thing - to not see the awful large physical pixels which build the panel matrix.

I have a 55" 4K TV, and I honestly can't see much difference between 4K and 1080p films. The level of detail on screen and the level of detail visible from your viewing distance are two totally different things.
