i'd say the 4090 FE is 1999€ (at least). board partner cards maybe 2200-2499€.

the 3080 with 12 and 16gb is odd... how do you make two different bus widths with the same SM count? either it's a different bin with more/less cores or it's a fake.

you can choose 1999$ for anything about 2k. But guess the FE base price, not ROG or Suprim

I still kinda think 12gb is right. adding 60% amount of vram in one generation is hard to believe

75 billion transistors in next-gen. that's about 87% of total human brain neurons

nvidia uses 11 and 12gb cards since more than half a decade.
16GB would be the absolute minimum i'd accept to buy for a brand new high end card.

There wasn't an option to vote for 24GB of VRAM for the 4090 but I think that's what it will be just like the 3090.

I think 4080Ti is 16gb and 4080 is 12gb.
probably the 12gb is more attractive to ship to market first as we're expecting inflated msrps.

Problem is, guys that are saying 4080 will have 16gb are not saying what would be 4080Ti followed by a year after.
besides 12gb is enough for 4k when memory-in-use is concerned.

Sure it's 24:

Do you think there could be a 4090Ti with memories on both sides (like 3090) totaling 48gb?

In the TPU GPU database there is a listing for a 4090 Ti with 48 GB VRAM but of course that could change.

The only reason I can think of to warrant 48 GB VRAM is for some type of work that could benefit from it. It's massive, massive overkill for gaming.

Those who voted 12 or 16 for 4080 are both right.
Those who voted 699$ for 4080 or 1999$/1499$ for 4090 are wrong.

ok, now that 4080 has a 12gb version. may be 4070 is getting closer to 10gb version.

I think it's weird a 1200$ card is still a non-Ti 4080

I have no intention of buying any of the cards announced but i guess pricing it what it is, 899 for a 4080 isn't outrageous if it wasn't the 3rd card in the lineup. Still if it's that much fast i guess it will fly off the shelfs.

More interested in the ones to still be announced. I imagine pricing for those has to be different in a recession and not dealing with deep pocket buyers, money is no object kind of people.

500 for a 4070 and 400 for a 4060 is unreasonable prices?

Man, I wish they had gotten these out in July like originally planned. We might have actually seen some black friday deals. I'll probably get the 4080 12G. I hate paying full price for anything though.

So you're saying it is outrageous, because it is the 3rd card in the lineup.

Depends on 3070 price when 4070 is available. I'm sure they keep the 3070 with competitive prices.
The sooner 4070 arrives, the higher its price would be. I doubt 500$
700$ would raise some eyebrows but it is possible.

899 for the top card seemed more reasonable to me, but i'm known to be a cheap bastard.

PS: i guess a 4090ti/titan kind of exotic card at 1500 or more wouldn't be that crazy to get money from the idiots :D

The RTX 4080 12 GB isn't worthy of being called a 4080. It has 47% of the 4090's SMX count and half the bandwidth. The closest comparison in Ampere is the 3060 Ti which has 45% of the 3090 Ti's SMX count and a bit less than half the bandwidth. I hope all the people who preferred Nvidia when AMD had better cards for less money are happy now.

I paid 920$ for my 3090 and now this 4080 is just 20 bucks lower. Sure it's faster but 12gb is nowhere near my requirements.

They're not idiot. Budget content creators would have to pay 2500 for Titan RTX to avoid a quadro card. These 1500~1600 cards are a blessing.

I'm sure board partner 4080s will be pricier than my card. So I should give my 3090 horse an Arthur Morgan pat

Im kind of worried about this as well. Ive been playing Warhammer 3 on a 2060 6gb at 1440p and have been getting messages that I ran out of vram and the graphics will be downgraded. I have a feeling 12gb wont be enough vram for future 4k games. Might have to spring for the 16gb. If I do that I will probably wait until next year for a sale, if we ever get one.

You'd probably better pick a 3090. Perhaps not so late, it will be 800$ or so
Idk, may be AMD (I leave that to others for advice)

for those prices i take 2 of each, remember "the more you buy the more you save"

idk there are a lot of crazy people out there, but buying at those prices, people have to be insane.

You'd probably better pick a 3090. Perhaps not so late, it will be 800$ or so
Idk, may be AMD (I leave that to others for advice)
Thats not a bad idea. If they get low enough I may go that route. Then I wouldnt need to upgrade my motherboard for the 4080.

Wait a minute. 4080-16 has less CUDA cores than 3080Ti and 4080-12 has less than 3080

comparing to the 4080-12, you'll get 36% more cuda cores, twice the vram and still pay less than 899$

not an expert but you can't compare them like that, there's the new 4nm difference for example. Like Steve from GN said they are "different cuda cores"

Despite the slightly lower core count, the clock speed improvements will give a 30% performance increase (3080-12 to 4080-12) besides architecture changes.
