The hype factor is working, it seems.

In the UK, they're still on pre-order status with no info on price.

I see there are some relatively small ones with pre-installed waterblocks, like the Inno3D iChill. I would actually consider buying one of those, but only if I had a youtube channel called JayzTwoCents or something.

I mean this does seem like a 4k only affair..... Finally can retire the peasant resolutions of 1440p/1080p for good.:toast:

All joking aside if I wasn't a 4k120hz gamer this card wouldn't be very exciting to me I guess 1440p with maxed out RT is the alternative use for gamers.

You would probably need 4K240hz screen to properly utilize DLSS3 Frame Generation, 4090 is just way ahead of all current hardwares :D

I noticed that will likely need to disable it and just use DLSS quality with maxed out RT... Poor me I guess, hoping I can grab one at 6am if not I will just get one when they pop back up on besbuy dot com.

Post-launch buying flurry pushing up prices. Happens every gen. It's how we identify those with more money than sense.

Pretty sure that has more to do with tax being double and sometimes triple outside of the US

The problem with this gen is that the FE will be so sought after. The other clown cards with their ridiculous coolers will be in stock for sure.

Probably, some of them aren't much different than my 3080ti FTW3 and my guess is a lot of people who can afford 1600 gpus are going to stick water blocks on them anyway.

Only the Strix I find ridiculous.... I'd be ok with a Gaming X or Suprim both air and liquid and maybe the TUF.

I think a bigger problem is that it specifically caters to 4K gaming. It's not that it's too fast at 1080p and 1440p, but the performance isn't even there at those resolutions. Nvidia is turning into the Bentley of graphics cards, selling only to people who don't mind paying ridiculous prices for the best 4K experience. But, as long as people like that exist, it's not a problem for Nvidia, I guess.

That has more to do with CPU gaming performance stagnation more so than Nvidia making a product that is only good at one resolution. If you look at some of the 12900K/DDR6000CL30 1080p data the 4090 looks a little better but is still bottlenecked by the CPU.

Still this product is for people who want to max out RT at 1440p with no upscaling or to push high refresh 4k nothing wrong with that.

That's true. On the other hand, there's no point in complaining that you "only" have 500 FPS at 1080p instead of 600.

4090 Ti rumor:

Hasn't Nvidia been doing this for years now? Putting aside the best dies to use them later for an even more expensive product isn't new.

Pretty sure that has more to do with tax being double and sometimes triple outside of the US

VAT in Denmark is 25%, so that would make a $1600 item $2000. There could definitely be factors beyond Day One Hype, but it's def not just taxes that are pushing 4090s to $2500+.

(Values in USD cuz that's what the quoted post used)

These are great cards. I have a 2080Ti and performance is nearly double. I paid close to 1500 for my water cooled 2080Ti (single fan) and the MSI is going for 1750 for dual fan. So, for and extra 200 I get twice the performance and twice the cooling. Do I want to pay 1750, of course not and wouldn't if not for the doubling of performance. I game on an LG C1 4K 129Mhz, so this card is right for me.

Nah, gamers gettin their game on isn't the problem. You only need to take a look at the idiocy on ebay to see where the problem lies.

Every single 4090 is sold out by noon Eastern time on every USA website. So, this thread is now irrelevant, doesn't matter if you want one, they gone boys! I guess Nvidia made a mistake not making it a $2,500 launch price, probably would have sold out then too

Still two models (according to my local Micro Center, and if their website is current) are showing as still available to buy in person at the store. $1700 for a Zotac or Gigabyte model.

The store started with 8 different models showing as available when the day started. Nearly 2 hours after the store has opened, there are still 2 models left to pick from. Doesn't look like this card is in any kind of high demand as Ampere was.

No, I won't. I got a 3080Ti when they launched. Curious to see what AMD has, but pretty sure im skipping this generation entirely.
