I bought Gigabyte RX 580 2048SP recently, when it arrived and i check in GPU-Z it show RX 590 GME 2304 SP DDR5 Samsung, but FurMark show it is RX580 2048SP.
I found that the chipset number is 215-0910038 when replace thermal paste and it should be RX580 2304SP chipset so tried to flash it back to RX 580.
I download Gigabyte RX580 8G (samsung) from VGABIOS and tried to use AMDVBFlash 3.31 which can detect my current VBIOS (AMDVBFlash -i) but when i run AMDVBFlash -unlockrom 0 and AMDVBFlash -p -fa -fp 0 XXX.rom, it prompted SSID mismatched.
I also tried to download AMDVBFlash 2.93, but it cannot detect my current VBIOS, it just prompt adapter not found when i run above commands.
Not sure why only 3.31 able to detect my current VBIOS.
Anyone can help me?

Hello.
First of all please save your current BIOS file in a safe place.
Then we will play with your card as long as you like.

Hello.
I would like to ask you why do you want to flash another BIOS in it?
As long as it works as it is ?
Yes, i know that it is a lower version of RX580 but still, you bought it knowing that.
So do not expect to make it a regular RX580 by flashing another BIOS.
And as i said earlier, after you save the current BIOS we can play with it as long as we want.
Cause we have the original file saved.
Would be interesting to see the labels from the card.
Please put some photos here.
Also in GPU-z in advanced tab you choose memory info.
I need that picture also.

As GPU-Z show 2304SP, so it should be normal version of RX580 instead of lower version or any others information to clarify it?
That's why I am confusing now...Buy Rx580 2048sp > GPU-Z show RX590 GME 2304sp> Chipset is "215-0910038" RX580 2304sp..
there is no label found when replacing thermal paste, only checked the chipset number "215-0910038" and see "Gigabyte".
just want to flash it back to version that match the chipset number as I found some DisplayPort port seems not work (not sure is it related to BIOS).

I would like to have some more info about your card:
- was it bought 2nd hand?
- It was bought new? From what store?
- How you ended up to have problems with the card?
- What are the symptoms you have with the card? What is not working ?

As an example i attached a picture with an RX580 card with the labels :

it is from china seller so it is second hand and mining card.
it doesn't have big issue, gaming is ok so far.
just some displayport port not work and model name not matched with Chipset number
i cannot find any label on the card.

So, based on the description i suspect that you have in fact a fake card.
Why in the world some1 will bother to take out the labels from a genuine card?

In fact i can see "Gigabyte" on the card like attached photo so mostly should be genuine card?
I think they remove the "back board" like your photo from the card for some reason and the label is stick to that board, that's why i cannot find the label.
My main issue is cannot use AMDVBFLASH to flash BIOS to that card no matter 2.93 or 3.31,

OK, so we decided that is a genuine card but with no back-plate.
Good, let's find out why the amdvbflash does not discover your card.
When you write the following command what results you obtain : amdvbflash.exe -i

2.93:
amdvbflash.exe -i
Adapter not found

3.31
amdvbflash.exe -i
AMDVBFLASH version 3.31 EXTERNAL, Copyright (c) 2021 Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Of course SSID mismatched. We changed the BIOS from another card.
More than this, we used forceflash command to flash the new file.
Pfffff

the problem is cannot force flash bios using 3.31.....

That command does exactly that : forcing the soft to be flashed without matching the old one.
It's annoying.

yes, i also do some research 2.93 should be able to force flash. But only 3.31 able to detect my card.....

Yes, i was aware of what you said earlier that 2.93 did not detect your card.
Weird indeed.
But since your card was not bought new, as you said even the backplate is missing, we can consider the option that the card is damaged somehow.

not sure but 3.31 able to detect it and i run several stress test and games also passed...
is there any AMDVBFlashDriver for 2.93 just like 3.31

Is it safe to use PolarisBiosEditor edit device ID value in your provided BIOS to match current BIOS?
then it should be able to avoid SSID mismatched error?

No, please do not play with PBE.
But...when you try to write the same BIOS that is already flashed, the forceflash command does work ?

So you are saying that you can't write the BIOS i provided because SSID mismatch?
That is so wrong...what in the world happened here?
I crossflashed BIOSes between Sapphire RX580 and XFX RX580, using the 2.93 variant.
Of course the ID and subID were different but i used forceflash command.
I still have those Sapphire with XFX BIOS.

LE: please be so kind and send me the BIOS you saved.
I want to take a look inside it

Yes

Yes, because only 3.31 able to detect my card but cannot force flash and 2.93 cannot detect my card so i cannot do anything.
attached for your checking.

Something is wrong with your original BIOS.
I received this error:

Please try to upload the BIOS in TPU database and give me the link you receive.
Don't actually load, just need that link you receive.
