Edit: Or should I wait for the UE5 remake of The Witcher 1? Hard choice. :D
I would personally wait. I played the Witcher when it was released and to be honest it was a totally mediocre game. The protagonist (Geralt) was mute half the time and the story was all over the place. Combat was definitely mediocre. Give CDPR credit as they went back and made an extended edition of the game, fleshed out Geralt with more voice over and made the story flow better. Combat was still mediocre so hopefully the remake helps that out.

That's up to personal taste, I guess. I for one, love the whole Witcher series as it is. The first game, while having its teething problems, offers one of the best atmospheres in any game up to this day, imo. I can just go to the lakeside, or Vizima's outskirts during the day, and listen to the music and look at the landscape without feeling any need to do something. :)

I'm not hating on the first game. Like I said, the EE turned it into a very solid game and CDPR should be praised for it. Too many studios would have moved onto the next game but they went back and to make it into the game they wanted it to be and are doing so again.

Personally, I wish Bioware would have done the same to Dragon Age II but when your big daddy is EA....
