Test it with Win11 at least and see if it makes a difference.

@P4-630 I really dislike win11, so that will be a last resort. Might end up trying it if nothing else works though.

I don't see get why a different windows version would be needed though, even if it has an improved kernel - it's just a single ccx cpu after all, and not a big little core cpu or something like that.

I'm personally leaning towards this being a result of amd's infoumasly buggy drivers.

Try Again. The Game works no? Just not to how someone else did. Did your CPU come from the same wafer as Wizzard's? Even if it was the same wafer were they right beside each other? Like others have said you are using a system build for Windows 11 on Windows 10. We don't know what you have enabled in the BIOS much less what MB or PSU you are using either. There are so many variables to performance differences that you should ALWAYS list your System Specs when asking a hardware related question.

And that's how you announce to the world that you didn't actually read the post, without telling us that you didn't read the post...

Rest of your post is just one big /facepalm, and completely missing the point... but then again, how could you get the point when you obviously didn't even read the post in the first place...

There isn't any core parking issue here. It's only Threads that aren't use here. 0 Game uses all these threads anyway.
A mod should close this thread before it derails, this guy is clueless.

@Dragam1337 I know your frustrated with this new system, but try and listen to the advice given. Everyone is just trying to help you sort things out.

Also I see no problems either. Not using all the cores to 100% is normal for gaming. This isn't only a CPU workload. Games are tied to the GPU as well.

Speaking of clueless, it's funny how the 7800x3d review has it using all threads in this game then...

I did listen to the ones that came with actual suggestions - im just not gonna go win11 yet :)

And it absolutely normal that not all threads are being loaded 100% - the issue that some aren't being loaded at all, which they are in the 7800x3d review.

This looks alot like the core park situation to me, though it might be caused by something else.

I built a new 7800x3d system, with asus b650e-f strix mobo, and gskill 6000cl30 mem, and newest win10 build.

I reinstalled windows for this built (didnt intend to, but was forced) - however, despite not having had any other amd cpu in this system, i am getting the core park issue, which @W1zzard also mentions in his review, though he didn't get it after reinstalling windows.

I've tried all tips and tricks i've been able to find online, to no avail. As far as i understand, the PPM driver is at fault for this issue, but i'm getting it but with and without it installed, after i did a 2nd windows reinstall. Tried running with both the newest beta bios for mobo, and the last official one - same issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Edit : i have noticed that it's always the same 6 threads not getting any usage.
Have you tried to 1) Update your motherboard bios , 2) install the chipset drivers from the AMD website , 3) use Best Performance power mode. (change power plan) 4) Turn on Game Mode in Windows.

I did write these things in my very first post :)

But yes, i've tried the last official bios from feb, the newest beta bios from this month. I've tried chipset drivers asus website, and the ones from amd website. Using maximum performance power mode, yes.

I've been thinking if some other program might interefering, so atm i'm running windows completely clean installed... only drivers, steam and cyberpunk installed... but still the same issue.

During other workloads, it will load all threads (not 100%, but evenly spread), but then while in games it looks like this

Have you turned Game Mode on/off , Core Isolation - Memory Integrity on/off? maybe that can help.

If anyone wanna chime in with a suggestion for a fix, im all ears.

Gonna ignore all the other noise...
Maybe start by not being negative towards people trying to help you? You've been awfully rude throughout this entire thread so far when people are only trying to help you. Like others have said, it isn't a CPU parking issue. It is an issue with the game - all configurations and systems are different, no component is exactly the same in a system, not to mention Cyberpunk 2077 is a very poorly optimized game even on brand new hardware...

However, like others have said, try upgrading to Windows 11. It really isn't that bad of an OS and gives better performance in games than Windows 10 does.

He is partially right, the cores are unparked after a given load which can be specified under registry. Check the programs which I talked about earlier, it has the (registry) settings exposed for that. But it cannot be determined from just that one game. It could also be that the game is causing this, again speculation but I don't have access to his machine so who knows o_O

The good thing about windows is that there's a record of almost everything done, good or bad, through registry you just have to know where to search!

Yeah, game mode on/off. Thought that might have been the sinner, but didn't see any difference.

I haven't tried Core Isolation - Memory Integrity on/off - that appears to be a win11 feature ?

What program is it that you are using to expose those settings ?

I've gone through regedit to unpark all i could - some weren't unparked. Didn't make a difference though.

All new hardware , I also vote for installing windows 11....

Especially for new game ?.. or globally use Win 11 for all ?

Be sure to make a backup (power plan) as well before tinkering with them!

Also this was on TGL-H running win11 so your settings would be different & some (newer) might also be unavailable.

If it's CPunk 2077, it's patched today !!

//

A hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 is out now! Among others, it fixes the two most frequent crashes, including the one occurring during the final quest. Dynamic Resolution Scaling setting will now consistently grey out when Path Tracing is enabled.

The update won't change the version of the game visible in the main menu but might still affect mods.

Go into the power plan settings, you'll find them there ~
Interesting software ^_^ , on my 5700x cores are getting parked under light load only when using Power saver plan.
@Dragam1337 would be nice to see a screenshot while you are in Game with this program opened.

Nice program indeed @R0H1T

However i can see right away that the core unparking i had done in regedit worked - none of the cores are parked, even while doing nothing. So core parking is ruled out as the issue :)

In the last screenshot he posted if you pay attention for some cores every other thread is not used. There isn't a single instance he posted where an entire core is not in use, this is not a core parking issue.

Sure & that's why I said it's better to take logs through hwinfo or any other similar program & see if that's an issue across a variety of games, if not then it's likely a minor problem with the drivers &/or game itself. I'm not an avid gamer so something like this doesn't really bother me.

I see this very often in games and it's accentuated by the fact that my processor has 12 cores, some of the cores see utilization on both threads while most others only on one thread of each core.

You can check this video, it doesnt show each core utilization but it has Avg Active Core - 5.5.

The thing is that my previous cpu didn't have this behaviour - it had even load across all threads, which is why i know something is amiss. But yes, i am leaning towards drivers at this point.

He is running gpu limited at 4k though, so doesn't say that much :)
