Thinking an opinion that FH4 wouldn't be playable on my current hardware was formed from those using much higher frame rates and equipment. Running Ultra graphics with 2K @ 60fps is perfectly acceptable.

Regretting I held off so long on something I'm having a hard time putting down. Starting to wonder how it's possible FH5 is much better. Hard to imagine any larger automotive draws than James Deane's Worthpoint drift car and Top Gear occurring in Mexico.

Post any more about your gaming experiences on the Steam Deck, and I might buy one! Seriously man, stop it! My wallet can't keep up with all this goodness.

Be thankful you can! I can't even if I wanted to, Valve doesn't sell it in Brazil

Currently playing Fallout 76, talk about a game that turned around! Amazing fun right now, I super recommend.

those were some of my happiest moments in my teenage years, used to do 12-14 hour marathon sessions all summer long... I did with Civilization III

spent 3 hours in bed last night playing Monster Train on my Steam Deck, I was cozy as fuck and it was insanely fun!!! Steam Deck isn't perfect for all games, or AAA games, but for indie games and card games like Monster Train, man it is an absolute blast.

I also downloaded CoD Advanced Warfare on my Steam Deck because I was curious (its the only CoD game listed as "Great on Deck") so I thought I would give it a try, honestly its fucking fantastic on steam deck, 60 fps, the aiming is very optimized, it doesn't feel like aim assist is helping me at all, even though it feels like I am aiming with really good precision, its so strange how good the aiming is on this with the Deck... its easily the best looking game I have played on Deck so far... honestly so impressive.

@Mindweaver did I mention to you yet how much I fucking love my Steam Deck? ok I'll stop haha

if Steam Deck 2 can be OLED 1080, reduce the black border some, have rdna4 and zen 5 optimized APU, and Arch Linux get Freesync to work, make it 75hz (75hz OLED will feel like 100hz IPS) and that is the sweet spot before diminishing returns takes place exponentially.. im fine if battery life stays the same, I can get 3-4 hours battery life in indie games in airplane mode.

I'm buying Deck 2 regardless of price or when it comes out, I am just so fucking impressed by it.
Cmon man, I had a whole phase where I was looking at handhelds... and I had all but convinced myself a Steam Deck isn't worth it. But no... the next one lives in the back of my mind. At this point in its existence I won't buy the version currently out. The original actually looks pretty compelling. I just always think with these things, that there will always be those unanticipated little ticks that will be so much better after they pop up and get ironed out. Let them optimize if they wanna roll out a whole new kind of product for them. If it ends up sucking, I buy the previous one used.

Running linux on one would be AMAZING. So many freaking possibilities there. That's actually part of what had me looking at handhelds... this idea that with some cooling, there could be handheld hardware capable of making good use of a full OS. That's far more interesting to me than a gaming laptop. I mean, at a minimum you unlock emulation and unrestricted multimedia use... meaning it could really do a lot of tricks for a portable entertainment device. It'd be like taking many of the benefits of a laptop and carrying them over to something more between a phone and a tablet, with the comfort and ergonomics of a controller. In my mind, it's always just been a matter of when - the PSP existed a while back there. And anybody who played around with one of those HAS to be seeing what I'm seeing when they look at what's possible now. Handhelds could be so much cooler and more capable than they've been, and I look forward to seeing at least one showcase previously unseen levels of oomph and versatility in handheld devices.

holding out for Steam Deck 2 is probably a smart idea if you don't mind waiting 2-3 years.

that being said I played 3 hours of Dishonored and another 1 hour run on Monster Train with Steam Deck today... and I was sitting at my desk with my 6800 xt and 1440p monitor... why did I play them on my Steam Deck? I have no fucking idea. lmao im just addicted to it.

I actually don't mind. I've already waited longer than that.

I think there's something a bit different about essentially holding the whole thing in your hand. You can change locations, basically take the game with you. Get more comfortable, not be so boxed-in. I swear to god, there's a feeling I used to get when playing even GBC games that I've never gotten sitting in front of a monitor or a tv. It's a very different experience. I think it's just that much easier to stay immersed... fewer things to disrupt it, and so one does.

Being an ex-owner of a PSP, and current owner of a 3DS, Vita and Switch, I'm amazed at the prowess of the Steam Deck (at a pretty reasonable price tag that it carries). I just wouldn't buy one at the moment because there is only so much I can play at any given time, and my PC partnered with my Switch fills that gap.

Be thankful you can! I can't even if I wanted to, Valve doesn't sell it in Brazil

Well, I'm in São Paulo. That'd be a trip... we've officially regressed to the 1970s, resorting to contraband from Paraguay to obtain electronics... love has truly won!

Steam deck:
Finished RE3 remake. Looks and runs amazing on the deck.
Playing Grid 2019 and Grid legends. Getting RE2 remake soon.

Nintendo switch:
Nier Automata: was well 10 hours in and made bad saving choice right before a boss fight and I can't stock up on healing so had to start over.
Worth nothing that is one the best games I've played ever. Only game that I would restart after I spend 10 hours in.
Diablo 3 - Only few hours in.

PC VR:
F1 2022, Asset Corsa and Project cars.
Haven't turned on the PC in a month now but that's what I would play if I did. :D

From the list people would think that I have hours to commit to it but they be wrong, between two jobs, wife, two kids and a cat I have like 30 min before bed (when I have the energy) and sometimes bring the Switch to work play 30 min on my lunch break. But I'm a gamer at heart! :D

As much as I wasn't a big fan of the first part of the game the last few chapters were pretty crazy/fun. 'how I like my SS games basically'
SS4ch15.jpg
+Great soundtrack as usual in the serie.

I've decided to pick up Borderlands 3 again and start a FL4k since that char is the last one I don't have at max level with an end game build so I better go and fix that. 'before D4 is relased cause then I wont have the time for this..'
Already got pretty much everything for the build I'm planning to use so I just have to go trough the game for a last time and level up.

PRODEUS
Quite an enjoyable wee game with loads of secrets and action !

I've also installed that last night while I was thinking on what should I play next and I was browsing whats on Gamepass and found that game/looked like a fun retro-modern shooter so I checked it out.
Gotta say its pretty cool so I left it installed, might play it every now and then.

Love it so far, though the pace of the story moves is a bit too slow for a 2D game IMO
