My new gpu doesn’t fit because of the mic in , line out, line in. What do I do

I just bought the Red Devil Amd 6650 xt for my pc because hogwarts legacy was awfully laggy(25 minutes of gameplay took 2 hours and I couldn’t see cutscenes after waiting for them for 30 minutes). I came home from a night shift and thought to put it in.

It would fit if the mic in, line out and line in part wasn’t there. I spent a lot of money on this gpu and now I can’t even use it. Is there an extension for gpus? What should I do? I can’t build pcs and I would be grateful for any advice.

Yep, there is:

Many use this to better show off their gpu RGB by standing it coupled with a transparent panel case. :peace:

The IO normally should not be in the way of the gpu. Are you sure you're doing it right?
Unless it's some very weird proprietary motherboard.

I guess a riser cable (like in the post above) would solve that, but in a case where you can use it you'd never have this issue to begin with.

I will admit this was a fairly cheap pc I bought a few years ago on very, it’s a little dusty, I can see where it’s supposed to go but when I’ve tried it’s too big. I hope the picture helps.

What are you referring to the PCI adapter at the bottom?

If so you bought a card that was triple wide, and it will eat up 3x slots, so you need to use a GPU riser or ditch whatever is in there.
An alternative to the above would be to switch to using an external USB solution like a pre-amp.

If that's what you're using for your mic, just switch to using an external USB solution like a pre-amp.
I don’t use that for my mic, I do use a usb mic when I game with friends. It does say pci where the gpu would fit and lines up with.

I can't tell what is obstructing the installation then alone on description, it's not the green PCI card connected at the the bottom?
You can use a GPU riser to get around that as previously stated, edited that back in.

Wait are you saying the issue is at the top of the card / rear IO panel? The card is too tall from the backplate up?

The PCI slots usually lines up with the back plate and straight shot across to the PCI bracket. Unless you're bending the card back it will fit.

you can install the gpu, there should be nothing stopping you, being cheap motherboard is not an issue
see a video on youtube if you're not sure of what you're doing

also get another stick of RAM, when you can, so you arent loosing performance, having 2 you get dual channel and it performs much better.

The card isn’t the problem it’s where the case is for the metal casing is for the mic in line out line in adapters are. The gpu is thicker than I thought it would be so the casing on it gets stopped by the adapter(I don’t think it’s the right word but I’m gonna roll with it) I’m looking for a gpu riser now will that connect my new gpu to the motherboard?

thats a big boy but there should still be no problem to install it, asus is a good brand, they wouldnt make a motherboard that has the line/mic stopping you from slotting the gpu.
youre doing something wrong installing the card

The fan-shroud would touch that little card...
The card? The addon isn’t touched by the gpu it would be right next to it but it isnt blocking it. The back of the gpu is blocked by the metal case for the imo(i think that’s what someone said it was?)

Now... i do you invest in such GPU and buy a"cheap" 320 non performance motherboard like that... i really dont understand some users choices...
Riser to it, change case or open holes in it...lol
Over_n_out.
I bought the actual pc years ago, I didn’t have a good job and paid off the £499 within the 12 month by now pay later so I didnt know I’d have this problem 4 years down the line. I thought I’d improve what I had. I don’t know what I’m doing so I asked for help because I don’t know anybody that knows about this kind of thing.

My thought would be to use a PCIe extension cable for the small audio plate rather than an extension cable for the GPU.

Like this:

and move the audio PCI plate a couple of slots down.

View attachment 294102

That would provide enough clearance for your graphics card's cooler and fans.
Thank you that really helps

I bought the extension you shared when that comes next week I’ll move that. Hopefully that works.

Can you post a pic of your rear I/O panel? Maybe it's messed-up perspective, but something isn't right here. There's a keep-out zone around MB I/O componentry that Power Color should have respected. It looks from one of your pics that your headers and I/O plate are misaligned. If that's not the case, cvaldes has the best solution yet proposed that doesn't involve removing your graphics card's backplate.

If you bought a better motherboard with all the I/O you've needed you wouldn't have this issue now...

I don't think the MB is the problem. Also, not helping.
