You got me back onto Forza Horizon 5 and I bought a Hoonigan Escort Cosworth which cleared all my credit. Fine looking game, loads of fun and I'm thinking of getting the Hot Wheels expansion which is great on FH3.
Very picturesque in Mexico!

Graphics do look considerably better in your screenshot than mine.

After Uncharted I might try FH5 unless some free game interrupts this.

You could use it that way... but it would be awfully hard to see the screen while you're doing it.

Right? I think some devs have figured out that we gamers want a fun adventure, but also want to feel emersed in a "fantasy" like setting so we can truly "escape" into another world and not be so quickly reminded of the real world. My take? Titanfall 2 looks great, even now. However, I would be more inclined to play Redfall, based solely on the look of the GFX. However, both look compelling.

Finished NFS Heat this week ...
Well I guess I finished the story, bad cop seems dead, new head at the police, but the game continues with news races, some cars to unlock, some missions and my teamates hints about rumors that story isn't finished yet ...
I about level 31 / 50, and the story could have been a little longer ...

Honestly I was kinda on the edge of giving this a try but I'm just not that big of a fan of the turn based combat in games like this. ' last turn based games I've enjoyed were the Heroes of might and magic games mainly the 3 when I was a school kid'

That and playing 1 gacha 'Nikke' is plenty enough currently, from the look of it this game would be a fairly time consuming game on a daily basis and that I would rather not do now.

FH5 Hot Wheels is a real scream and it's massive.

Conflicted if freshly owning both FH would be too much or up the enjoyment further. Hot Wheels looks amazing.

Only thing id say was actually worse is the user interface, been playing it for 3 weeks and it still confuses me, way to much junk in it, that for me at least dont interest me in the slightest, new clothes,footwear, emotes etc etc.

Overall its an ok game , runs great but for some reason, unlike FH4 it just doesn't grab me in the same way.

Wouldn't be surprised if FH3 on console was included in your linear depiction. Doing a breakdown of graphical changes is interesting if you look especially at car modeling. In the past level of graphical improvement was a major part of buying the next release in a franchise. My impression is ports and scalable* gameplay comprise the majority of work done where gameplay is interchangeable between releases nowadays.

At least when I was younger there was something cool about games that doesn't exist in the route they went on FH with filler prizes. Race car drivers are prepossessed of... something far removed from overpaid and overstimulated dorky programmers currently having a few years they don't overly stick out in the confusion of a music festival. At one point Sony was really good at the aspect of weaving technically interesting with allowing access to cutting edge technology in a way that cut enough corners to be truly fun.



*Sidenote: When I updated the driver on my 1060 yesterday it took FH4 almost 10 minutes to load because of a lengthy message stating the game was being optimized for my hardware. Very subtle difference in responsiveness and intuitive controller behaviors afterwards. In the last 24 hours I three starred every (remaining) paved road speed camera challenge! On the other hand I quit every single race I attempted at Pro difficulty. The learning curve completely changed putting me back almost where I was at the beginning. Cornering and throttle control are nearly mysteries again yet I think drifting is finally going to be feasible.

There is nothing to see here, move along.
On a more serious note its something I play for like 30-40 mins/day depending if theres some event/s going on like currently cause of the half anniversary.
Just casually playing it for fun as a 100% free2play since the launch day, at least they relased a PC client a few months ago so I don't have to only suffer on my budget phone that can barely push 25-30 fps during combat or mess around with weird emulators. 'I tried before, it works but it had its own issues'

I don't mind playing 1 gacha at a time, I find them enjoyable to an extent/at my own pace and strictly f2p.
This one has a surprisingly decent story for a mobile game/good soundtrack too.

But yea its not exactly a game to play with other ppl around thats for sure. 'I wonder what would happen if I tried to play this on a bus full of ppl, not that I ever play in public just a funny thought'

Other than that I'm slowly progressing through Borderlands 3 with a Fl4k, this is my last playthrough in the game. Hopefully I can finish the entire char/build this month and maybe also find some time to play High on Life before June. 'I'm trying to get some stuff done before that cause I will be busy with D4'

I agree about the silly clothing, emotes, shoes and all that nonsense. The question is, who sees all that crap when you spend most of the time driving anyway?
And don't get me started on the non-binary character choices...

been playing a run of Monster Train every night on my steam deck before bed... it is the perfect little 20-30 min burst of fun before bed. had some pretty fun moments last few nights. steam deck has changed gaming for me. (switch OLED might have on launch day, but I ended up refunding mine cause of ergonomics, at the time I didn't know they had addons for bigger hands/better ergonomics) regardless, Valve put care into steam deck, no drift issues on the joycon, all parts are easily replaceable over on ifxit, SteamOS, no bloat, just everything about it I love.

Fantastic game, I played it through last year and still fire it up every once in a while to just bask in the beauty and fun combat. I tried it for about 20-30 minutes on a Playstation once, but the MOMENT they announced it for PC? That was done (don't like the controllee that much anyway), I played it with the same frames like you at about 100-120fps at all times.

Tried it with my 4090 locked at 162Hz (max is 165Hz but I limit it a pinch with gsync)...man, that game is just utterly ridiculously lovely. It feels INCREDIBLE!

I hope you enjoy the hell out of it!

I actually enjoyed being in that world so much so.......that I didn't use fast travel even one time, and I played it for 73 hours total lol. (I think I finished the game with 69 hours in)

So in all honesty it's not a great game, as such. It's pretty shallow and once you know how combat works and have some decent gear it's not challanging at all. The story is alright. But, it took me something like 30 hours to realize the game is actually pretty bland, because it's a very nice place to be. I still haven't finished it, but I'm inching my way closer.

Yep, it struck me too, pretty quickly as well. I mean there are four or five types of collectibles that lead to getting ... loot boxes ... and quests that lead to getting ... loot boxes ... plus enemies that can drop.... loot boxes ... and beyond that its just you and the world, scanning some things here and there and... picking up loot boxes. And then the vast majority of items in them are metal shards lol. Also that shameless Witcher Sense spinoff, its even used the exact same way to guide quests, is a bit of a meh moment every time.

But I do see the charm of it regardless, its indeed the world itself that is cool to just sandbox around in, challenging encounters and a nice box of tricks to deal with them pretty much are the game, the rest feels a bit secondary to it.

I didn't care at all about the loot box things. The game got a lot better when I turned off as many things in the UI as I could.
