Hoping one day some other studio will come up with another shooter. I think the gaming community is salty when it comes to Activision and their never-ending Moder Warfare. Been playing Call of Duty for so many years, mainly cuz just as broken these games are and full of cheaters there is nothing out there to rival. They have the servers, they have the content.

Depending on what Stalker 2 will have to offer, the above might just be Game of The Year for me. RE4 is a no-fluff video game, that plays and looks very very good. Story, action, shooting + the strong modding community will enhance your gameplay. You can't go wrong with this

Sadly, you're right ...
Some of their games are good (Cold War) and some ... (Vanguard)
At least MP is fun with your friends ... (and strangely boring alone ! :) )

Heheh... 'at least its fun with friends' has always been synonymous to me with 'its actually quite poor, but palatable if you have voice chat to laugh about it together'. Everybody kinda feels deep down that its peer pressure keeping you in the game.

I mean most things are actually fun with friends, even going through the worst events together can be just fine :)

Agreed.

If I want a fun time with friends, I invite them to the pub, we do a bbq, road trip, concert, etc together. Being "at least fun with friends" is not a merit of a good game, but an excuse of a bad one, imo.

I'm still yet to finish the main story in D4, yeah I'm being a slowpoke doing everything I find. 'started on 06.02/early access'
Just reached lvl 50 and I'm still in ACT 3. 'most ppl who just went for the main story mainly, finished the story at 40+ or so'
Not exactly the most efficient way but that be damned during my first playthrough anyway. 'there are some lvl/gear scaling problems in the story at this point tho'
D4sorc1.jpg
At least from a technical standpoint I've had zero issues so far nor server related issues. 'the longest que I had was ~1 min at the start and pretty much nothing since'
Idk when was the last time I've played this much thats for sure. 'and I'm defo feeling that..'

Too bad I just got told that I wont have the entire week off like I thought I would but I will still try to finish up things and start doing end game activities by the weekend. 'this is what I get for having an order based part time job that relies on my work..'

Dude, I have 2 characters, started since beta drop, both characters are 22 and 23/24, and still haven't ventured much out from Kyovashod. Don't worry about slow gameplay. I don't like to rush through content either.

yeah if I get diablo iv someday, i will be taking my time and enjoying side quests and everything. i don't really care about endless loot. finding a rare drop is always fun of course, but I am not going to go out of my way for it.

I mean the endless farming/making crazy end game builds is what keeps me playing these type of games in the long term but I take my first playthrough seriously and pay attention to the lore at least once.
There is a time for rushing to the end game but for me thats not for the first time, more like when I'm already familiar with the game or during seasonal play.

I've used to play such games for the first time/at launch with some friends many years ago but I stoped doing that cause they were the gotta go fast Sonic type rushing even in a brand new game which pissed me off. 'and then they got kinda offended when I left the group and started a new char in solo '

Im interested in knowing how many hrs of gameplay, like going to every single corner of the maps and stuff.
Im really skeptic to pay $70 for 35 hrs and not having anything else to do.

Hopefully it is more interesting than 3. That quickly became a snooze fest for me. I even had bought the boxed edition. I don't know about 4 and there is so much content on the Game already on Youtube. Not that the Cut scenes are not spectacular so it does have me intrigued.

I would love to give you numbers but sadly I can't cause for whatever reason they decided to remove 'played hours' from the game.
Its a lot longer than D3 that I can say for sure, I'm still yet to start on ACT 4 and I've spent a fair ammount of hours since the early access start cause I do every quest I run into. 'some are shorter more generic but some are chain quests/all of them voice acted at least'
Only problem with this is that the story doesn't seem to scale past lvl 50 and I'm already lvl 51, this is something they defo need to fix/change at some point.
The D4 forum I'm active at, some ppl who rushed the story claims to have it finished between 15-20 hours on average.

Hopefully it is more interesting than 3. That quickly became a snooze fest for me. I even had bought the boxed edition. I don't know about 4 and there is so much content on the Game already on Youtube. Not that the Cut scenes are not spectacular so it does have me intrigued.

Cut scenes are pretty good yea, if only there was an option to watch them again from the menu or something.
So far I think the story is alright for an ARPG and better than D3's tho I still think that buying an ARPG just for the story/not playing the end game is kind of not getting your money's worth tho thats just my opinion.:) 'not at full price at least'
And yea theres a lot of content and whatnot already on the net/YT, probably a much better source than what I say around here anyway.

Like a lot of you, I'm playing D4 now and everything else is on the back burner. I've waited a long long time for this game and not played/watched/seen/read anything about the betas or early access of the game.

I'm going to savor the hell (pun not intended) out of this game, so far it's been great but I'm only a few hours in. The only thing I really really REALLY hate is that there is seemingly no longer an hours played counter visible to us.

That's one of the biggest things I like to see in every game, doesn't matter what type, I wanna know how long I've played it. I wish it was on Steam so at least I'd have that time record. :(

It's interesting that so many people are capable of setting every game aside just to play a new release. I mean, I'm still in the middle of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and can't just put it on hold only because I also want to try Hogwarts Legacy or Jedi: FO. Similarly, I don't stop watching a film halfway through and start another one, unless it's utter garbage maybe. :D

Interesting new releases only make my backlog longer. I wish I had time to play more! :(

It's interesting that so many people are capable of setting every game aside just to play a new release. You will have plenty of time when retirement comes. I've been retired (at age 58) for about 2.5 years now and I have all the time in the world. My backlog since forever is getting whittled away finally. Only have several hundred more games to go and they're all good games that are definitely worth playing. I haven't bought a game for about 2 years now but that's cool. I will get there eventually.

Well in my case D4 is the first new AAA relase I'm properly playing/bought in 2023.
I grew up playing this genre/serie so this is something I was naturally interested in so I was planning this out since we knew the launch date.:)
I've finished Cyberpunk earlier this year then Guardians of Galaxy and Serious Sam 4 then I went back to play Borderlands 3 to finish up all of my chars in the game/meanwhile also played Season 28 in Diablo 3 as last run/to conclude my D3 career.
Only new-ish games I've tried were Dead Space remake demo/Resident 4 demo, other than those I'm yet to play any of the bigger new relases tho I do want to play them at some point. 'ya know the badly optimized ones at launch, at least by the time I get to play them they should be fine '

O ye and I'm playing a cultured mobile gacha on a daily basis but we don't talk about that here.:D
My backlog of games are also never ending, I keep adding more games to it than what I'm capable of playing + I'm also not a fan of playing more than 1-2 games actively cause then I just get distracted too much w/o finishing anything.

That's still another 30 years at least. :( By that time, my backlog will be so long that a lifetime wouldn't be enough to complete all of it.

That too. If I start a game without finishing another, then go back to the previous one later, I'll have zero clue where I was or what I had to do (or sometimes even what the game was about).
