Actually, CDPR is spot-on. People whined & complain about little things, blew small problems out of proportions and generally made mountains out of mole-hills. It was all very pathetic.

However, we're going off-topic and I digress.
The game is so flawed that it's almost worth playing just for laughs.

Personally, I think Rise Of The Tomb Raider was the best of the recent trilogy bunch.
It's a better story than Shadow, Lara seems grittier, the combat is really cool and it looks great.

I have a few hours in it, what are these flaws? I played Fallout 4 for quite a few hours specifically because it's unfathomably terrible yet strangely entertaining.

Currently, I'm playing "how to cool my 7800X3D", as my 280 mm AIO seems to give up once power consumption on the CPU reaches 75-80 W. It can only boost to 4400-4500 MHz before reaching critical temps. I've tried repasting, remounting, I've also bought the Thermal Grizzly offset mount for AM5 CPUs, which was a waste of money... it's not a fun game, I'm running out of ideas how to beat it.

At least I've also got Jedi: Fallen Order with the processor, which I will try once the above matter is settled (and once I've also finished Kingdom Come).

Issue with AM5 is that chonker of a heatspreader, it has issues transfering heat from the cores to the cooler.

As it turned out, something's wrong with the AIO, as a random low profile cooler that I had lying around collecting dust runs miles around it.

It's one of those games where you spend half a week sweating blood trying to beat the boss before you realize you've been doing it wrong the whole time. :ohwell:

More W40K: Boltgun action

Having some DN3D flashbacks here. Remember The Abyss?

Finished A Plague Tale Requiem (...very good game) and started God of War.

I feel something's missing though....A fxxxxxg introduction.
Who the hell is Kratos? Why am I God? Who are the enemies and why are they chasing us? etc etc etc
The previous games do not exist on PCs, so they should be an introduction or something.

I had the same feeling at the start, but don't worry, your questions will be answered (at least some of them). :)

Keep playing, they'll answer some of those questions for you in the game. (one of these days I'm going to get around to playing Requiem)

I haven't finished God of War yet but I feel I'm close to the end.
And it's amazing. Although I'm not into the Scandinavian mythology, the story telling, voice acting, script, OST are at RDR2 level.
Every character script is ridiculously well written and astonishingly well played by the actors.

The gameplay felt weird at the beginning - I think it's easier to play using the Xbox controller rather than keyboard/mouse. Weird in general i'm useless playing with controllers.
The graphics are meh but ok, it's a console game after all.
In general, worth buying it and I'll keep playing so I finish some of the side quests. I won't complete it to 100% due to other games are on the list.

I've got to finish Kingdom Come: Deliverance. No rush, the game is amazing. :)

After that, I've got Jedi: Survivor with the processor for free, so may as well try it. Although, I don't quite remember how Fallen Order ended, so maybe replaying that first would be best (unless it's on YouTube).

Forgot I owned Fortune Island on FH4.

This was a fortuitous event presenting me with a much enjoyed opportunity to do unpure things with hyper cars before trudging back to the mainland in a few days to engage with the simcade element that everyone else seems to have mastered. As is I end up doing races in the wrong near stock vehicles well below the class level and barely finishing within the time limit.

I like how Fallout does enemies, most are just regular guys who are struggling to make a living just like you, but they're on the wrong side of things because they're raiders, fanatics, etc. like these two fellas who were having a lovely dinner until I had to blast into their base and 360° noscope deepfry them with a plasma gun because they were in my way to the objective and had food+water.
ScreenShot9.png

Nobody will ever know they're dead, they'll just stay there forever just like the rest of the skeletons. Let that sink in.

Well maybe that's too deep for just a pair of NPCs but it made me think how the game is actually more f*cked up than what the lore tells you.

Living in a post-apocalyptic world would f*ck everyone up, I guess. I recommend The Road for a watch.

Currently playing The Captain, a brilliant pixel art indie game. It's an original point'n'click adventure set in the future with optional turn-based space combat. The intro immediately gives off Mass Effect vibes. You'll be sharing time between managing your ship and crew, crafting upgrades and weapons, exploring numerous locations, trading, and fighting enemies:

1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

The game makes pretty much everything optional, and you can finish it by simply collecting four artifacts. Your choices will affect one of possible endings, as most encounters may have between two to five various outcomes. In fact, The Captain is designed in such a way that you can replay any previous segment with a different result. The space battles are surprisingly involved and include several types of weapons and their counters, shields and specials, as well as calculating energy expenditure while keeping an eye on hull integrity. They become very challenging when dealing with three or four alien ships with special abilities, all at the same time. You will need to think a few turns forward to win and collect the spoils. Luckily, The Captain lets you simulate every engagement to hone your tactics, and preview enemy moves.

A timer starts as you begin the whole adventure, and you probably won't be able to explore everything, defeat all enemies, or save everyone. The gameplay gets a bit repetitive, but offers enormous replayability. On subsequent playthroughs you can pick an already discovered outcome in a given situation, so that you don't have to redo every scenario.
