FIY ebay prices are not always accurate, plus the price range can be wild too (but you can be lucky sometimes). Nowdays I'm not sure how many guys/gals wants some cheap AM3+ stuff in the UK/USA, but at this price it's highly suspicios. You can find many decent AM3+ mobos for 15-20 pounds, but in my opinion it"s not worth your time, even with the best FX cpus the platform will be inefficient & weak. Can I ask you what is your spending limit on this project?
I will give that a miss ,he is giving links ro the prices on eBay,So why does he not sell it on there? When he is only selling it for £20?Very little actually £35.It would have to be FM2 like i said earlier on here there are a lot less FM1 on there. And what is the situation with the Heatsink Fans most of then don,t mention FM2?.And the CPU,s you mention have a are 100w, so i take a 95w Heatsink want be enough.I was under the impression all AMD Heatsink Fans fitted all AMD CPU,s from 939 but not Ryzen. Is that right?

AMD Heatsink And Fan CMDK8-7152D-A5-GP0625HWGP63 3-Pin would this fit a FM2 board? They all look the same design with the clips and lever. If that fit i would get get a board without a cpu. £6 and £10 for a CPU.The most i would pay for a Board is £18

The retention is the same from S754 to FM2, however in your place I would only use the better stock cooler with dual heat pipes.

That one i showed you in here.So it is no good for intel with those crapy plastic pins.

ASRock FM2A75M-DGS AMD A4-5400 + 4GB RAM his offering it for £23.The thing is i don,t see A4 .5400 CPU anywhere?As you can see from the cpu upgrades there is a A4 5300 but no A4 5400?

I'm considering getting a X800GTO 16 pipeline version from Powercolor for a bit less than 20 bucks. From what I've gathered online, cards labeled "16 pipelines" can still be either R480 or R423, correct? Is there any preferred core to get? Can GPUz correctly distinguish these two variants or would a disassembly be necessary to determine the version?

The R480 is an 'X850 basically', slightly revised silicon, IIRC
The R423 is a slightly smaller (die size) and hotter chip (91W maxTDP), and "an X800".

I'd 'prefer' an R480 and be tempted to flash it to an X850 XT PE. Just to +1 over 'an X800'.

Looks like there might be a non-0 chance of 'hacking' Crossfire w/ 2 R480s too, but I got no links or research to reference. Both the X850 Crossfire Edition and Other X850-R480 cards used the same die.
I'm kinda-assuming there's been someone that made cross-PCIe-only crossfire work on pre-X1950Pro cards.

Not sure on the GPU-z question, and I only have 1 x8** PCIe card, which I cannot recall which core it was.

Well both will work, however the msi have decent 3+2 phase VRMs (wich will matter for the IMC). High-end FM2+ boards can handle OC better, but every 95/100W CPU/APU will work fine if you don't force OC above 4.1Ghz, and have some airflow around your VRMs. Overall the first board is better, anandtech reviewed all the available stock coolers 7 years ago! :toast:

I am for the first one Asus one it is newer ,plus the fact the offer for it has gone ,£20 for the Asus one.I did see a FM1 Asrock which had USB 3? o_O i can,t see on there now.But after seeing Phil,s video on a FM1 board i would give it a miss.
Using the CPU you recommend to me

Athlon II X4 651K.Below the one i thinking of getting for £20 i asked if it came with the heatsink he said yes.I got back to him and asked if it came with a Aup ,his not got back to me.I see there is ram there i doubt if that comes with the unit. When you look close at a lot of the Boards on eBay ,they look so dirty.o_O

Not sure how rare this is but not too many cards would have come with custom blocks back in the day!

Matching serials with the original retail box. It comes with a little torch light but unsure if this accessory is originally packaged with the card?

She boots and got through an 03. I just held a fan over the block to replicate a HSF without pumping water through just for now.

Very cool 15 year old card!
Awesome stuff.

I remember those from the PS1 era. For that price, I'd grab it even though I use only force feedback ones myself.

Force Feedback = the wheel behaves like driving a real car. Nothing special with connecting it, mine needs just external power. Otherwise I just plug the wheel via USB and the pedals to the wheel with its own connector.

I'm 99.99% sure that yours just turns around without any feedback. Anyway, with that price it's not a bad purchase.

edit: My Driving Force GT also works with GT4 on PS2, just haven't tried it. :D

I get your point there so yours is like the real thing. :) I will give it a spin ,that,s true it has to be good at that price.:)And for the fact i can see it in person.,not like getting it on line when you don,t know what will turn up.

Yeah, good point there. Though usually when I buy something online (or second hand), I usually know what I'm getting so it's a pretty rare scenario that I'll be disappointed of my purchase

But sometimes surprises happen when buying something uncommon in both negative and positive ways etc
