Scored a great deal on some system memory. Should be a nice kit for next system build which I'm still mulling over decisions on CPU/MB parts selection and/or how deep down the rabbit hole I want to go on CPU/MB price/quality at the same time. It's adds up quickly.
Bit slow, don't you think?

I have not yet received it, but I have ordered it and signet a new contract with a mobile provider.

So what is going to replace my crappy old slow useless bad picture taking piece of crap Huawei P smart phone?

A brand new Google pixel 7A and it seems to have the best camera in in it price range. So if people are interested I can upload some new and hopefully much pictures of my dual system build. Let me know if interested about it.

I should get it tomorrow or Thursday this week and then screw around with it to get used to it and ajust the camera settings.

So the issue was the motherboard itself but the exact nature of it is hidden in Albion Mist.
Yeah. something unsupported or corrupted that was fixed by the BIOS flash?
It only takes one bios setting or small hardware change to make a system not POST any more.

Used to work perfectly last year.

Works perfectly fine in another motherboard. Same model.

So the issue was the motherboard itself but the exact nature of it is hidden in Albion Mist.
Whoever first said Electronics is an exact science told a big fat lie.

Got a Byskski water temperature sensor and display from Ebay. I do not recommend it, abysmal

Does new alphacool chrome fittings and soft tubing count as new tech?

Yeah that one. What is not written or you have to find out yourself is that below a certain water flow level it's an annoying ALERT flash on the screen. I swear something was wrong with my loop! But my D5 pump runs at low revs via the bios. So I had to adjust in bios, raising the idle revs to stop the annoying flashing. Can't remember the exact number, but its just unnecessary if you have a costum dual rad loop and you know what your doing.
And no, nothing is adjustable on this monitor, just shows water temp, flow level and revs per second. The last one is pure" guesstimate". Not worth the 18 USD plus shipping. Looks nice

So here is my new mobile setup for a few years. 3-4 years is the normal time i have my smartphones.

Replacing my old slow crappy and good for nothing Huawei P SMART phone with a brand new Google Pixel 7A with panzer glass protection and a holder that will furher protect the screen (Needed as i work as a car mechanic, so my phones lives a hard and dangerous life in my pocket). I mainly chose the 7A cause it should have one of the best cameras for mid range smartphones. For what i have seen on reviews, camera should be miles better than my old garbage.

Side note: To those also considering this phone, i just wanted to note that this phone does not come with a charger. So you have to provide one your Selv. Charger cable does come with it and is also used to connect to your pc.

I can only agree to that. Huawei had it´s perks to, but the camera was apselutely not one of them. Can´t wait to play with my new pixel. Waiting for it to charge up right now.

Just found out that Dell KB216 doesn't support N-key rollover. Well, some combinations work, but not Shift+W+Space. :(
But it's still very pleasant. Waiting for backlit version (hopefully). And 24" 1440p@75 Hz FreeSync from Dell... Slowpokes!

Modern phones don't come with chargers, the included cables are only USB 2.0 and slow charging rates (3A cable), as well
To use fast charging on most modern phones you need a USB-C PPS charger, and a 5A cable

S22/S23 series for example only charge at about 32W maximum, but it uses the 45W profile on the charger to achieve that at 9v
9V * 3A = 27W, so you need the 5A cable (the next step up) to get that extra few watts (which samsung calls superfast charging 2.0)

Interesting... i just did my first rollover test on my laptop. Only 2-key rollover on the numbers, whereas 4-key rollover on the letters. BUT NOT ALL LETTERS! Some keys won't take the 4th.

I imagine the reduced number key roll-over is by design; to reduce data entry error that isn't so easily noticed.

FPS games will be sad without sprint-forward-jump all smashed at the same time
Gotta get creative.
I think God of War uses that combo too. :banghead:

Decided to do a smaller upgrade since the DDR 4 prices are low enough even where I live. 'paid ~46 $ for this kit'
I've been using this 2x8 kit since my 2018 build and now I'm adding another to it + I felt that its about time in 2023 to move up to 32.

MX 6 wasn't really needed it was more like my curiosity and because my bro lost my MX 4. 'Gonna use this on both of my CPU/GPU tho I already have good temps on those but still, like I said I'm curious:oops:'

The new setup as some of you may be aware I am moving away from a desktop.
A brand new Alienware X16, specs are in my system specs. I bought it on a sale and then another additional discount through my company discount code.
Which made it similar money to other 4080 laptops.

Nothing worse than buying a case that comes with 1/4 of the fan slots filled, and they're propitary so you can't buy those same fans even at stores that sold the case to you
So many RGB fans do this, making them utterly useless when you need to buy in packs of 3 to get controllers for them, etc

Oh good 9 new fans for the 8 my case takes, with 2 that come out for the bin
Every case should have an option to be sold without fans.

EWaste 80%+ of the time.

Alienware laptops are great build quality, but there's something wrong with their thermal paste design.

Every one I've owned, plus many owners on forums, report significant improvements with a liquid metal repaste and GPU VRM/VRAM repad.

I had the 13" 1060 model with a 1440p OLED screen, great machine, but ran hot stock.

Even ASUS are starting to wake up to the potential of liquid metal in laptops, PS5 too. Does wonders with small heatsinks.

But yeah, like the MSI Ghost series which I've also owned, the motherboards are inverted which sucks.

What I liked about the Razer laptops is that the motherboards are quite well designed for maintenance and upgrades.
