Your PC ATM

after years of bigger/smaller upgrades finally got my sleeper build 99% ready (missing 1% - still thinking of going bigger :pimp:)

THE RAT ROD:
current specs are:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600X + Arctic Liquid Freezer II 120
- MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus
- Powercolor "Red Dragon" RX 6800XT
- 2x16GB kit of Corsair Veng RGB Pro
- 2x 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (Samsung 980 and WD SN770)
- 650W Corsair TX650M

from what i can remember the build went like this :
cpu - AMD FX4130 -> R5 2400G -> R5 5500 -> R5 5600x -> (maybe) R7 5800x3d
gpu - GTX 275 -> HD6950 -> RX580 8G -> RX5700XT -> RX6800XT -> ???
mobo - ??? (AM3+ for the FX) -> AB350M -> bad asus B550 -> good MSI B550

also had enough stuff laying around to build a 2nd pc (r5 5500 and rx 5700xt) and upgrade my dad's pc (awful FX -> bad/meh R5 2400G)

the setup changed multiple times, but the main point of the build is that the case is from some old-ass prebuild (still has an original pentium 4 sticker!)

edit: yes, the cooler rad is "mounted" like that (no mounts :v)
edit 2: made an account here just to post this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But can you remember all of your graphics cards throughout the years?
GeForce 2 MX400; Radeon 9100 IGP; GeForce FX5200; GeForce 6600 DDR2; Radeon X800 GT; GeForce 7600 GT; GeForce 8600 GT; GeForce 9600 GSO (384 MB); Radeon HD 4770; GeForce GTS 450; GeForce GTX 660; GeForce GTX 960 (2 GB); GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB); GeForce 1660 Ti. :eek::twitch:
Yeah... graphics cards were more affordable, sometime ago. I remember paying what today would be 70 USD for a brand new 9600 GSO from Leadtek. I should have kept it... for nostalgia purposes. :rolleyes:

Good ol' PVC plasticizer strikes again!

20230617_142150.jpg

Went ahead and swapped out the old PVC tubing for some rubber fuel hose since I already had some and it was the same size, not as nice looking but it does the job well. Gave all the other parts a good deep cleaning as well to get rid of any residual plasticizer sticking around.

Beautiful, i know how much those chromax covers cost !! you gotta have em to complete the picture. Nice build.
Next investment will be 6+1 new 140mm fans once the Chromax versions release. 6 for the case and 1 for the D15.

Just realized those VRM coolers are in the shape of a coffin. Always a good sign that they can't be killed.

Great build !!! This PC needs to be called "the consumer" :)

Thanks. Well it does consume in more than one way. Money, electricity and so on. Sometimes hobbies become expensive.

I think you have a little space there somewhere you can pop one of those mini pc's in and you can officially have a triple CPU system.

A Raspberry Pi always fits.....

Lol. Yeah I could probably put a raspberry pi or something similar in it as well. But two is enough.

You know you wanna stick a Pi in there now :D

After the air leak test, now the ultimate test -> the fluid

I started PC gaming with playing at 1024x768 low 20-30fps so playing at 4K with med-high settings without RT (except in RE games, they dont tax too much) with FSR quality on, yeah, 6700 XT OC does the trick.

My first PC I built by my lonesome was running a 133Mhz Pentium, 128MB of EDO RAM, Soundblaster sound card, and a variety of leading edge video cards. I was happy to have ~24 fps at 640x480. :laugh:

Slot 1 Celeron 333, PC100 sdram 256mb, 40 gb hd, PC Mainboard AT with SIS6326, talk about lagfest.

P II 400 @ 450MHz, 160MB & GF2 MX here. Oh boy did I play Diablo II all day back in the day. :D

Just had enough horsepower to run Winamp in the background..
