after years of bigger/smaller upgrades finally got my sleeper build 99% ready (missing 1% - still thinking of going bigger :pimp:

)

THE RAT ROD:
current specs are:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600X + Arctic Liquid Freezer II 120
- MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus
- Powercolor "Red Dragon" RX 6800XT
- 2x16GB kit of Corsair Veng RGB Pro
- 2x 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD (Samsung 980 and WD SN770)
- 650W Corsair TX650M

from what i can remember the build went like this :
cpu - AMD FX4130 -> R5 2400G -> R5 5500 -> R5 5600x -> (maybe) R7 5800x3d
gpu - GTX 275 -> HD6950 -> RX580 8G -> RX5700XT -> RX6800XT -> ???
mobo - ??? (AM3+ for the FX) -> AB350M -> bad asus B550 -> good MSI B550

also had enough stuff laying around to build a 2nd pc (r5 5500 and rx 5700xt) and upgrade my dad's pc (awful FX -> bad/meh R5 2400G)

the setup changed multiple times, but the main point of the build is that the case is from some old-ass prebuild (still has an original pentium 4 sticker!)

edit: yes, the cooler rad is "mounted" like that (no mounts :v)

Yeah... graphics cards were more affordable, sometime ago. I remember paying what today would be 70 USD for a brand new 9600 GSO from Leadtek. I should have kept it... for nostalgia purposes. :rolleyes:

This hardware is currently weak and outdated, but my PC actually runs very fast for my daily use because I select very fast apps and games.
I'm going to wait for the Raptor Lake Refresh and then I'm going to buy a new CPU, I already have DDR5 and a new motherboard.

Good ol' PVC plasticizer strikes again!

Went ahead and swapped out the old PVC tubing for some rubber fuel hose since I already had some and it was the same size, not as nice looking but it does the job well. Gave all the other parts a good deep cleaning as well to get rid of any residual plasticizer sticking around.

Yes i have posted my pc before and there are really not much changed. This time however i got a new phone, so i mostly post this time with better pictures. But i must say first try with new phone (Google Pixel 7A), i am not that impressed.

Well here is my dual system in one case. Warning a bit long post cause many pictures.

Thanks. Well it does consume in more than one way. Money, electricity and so on. Sometimes hobbies become expensive.

I think you have a little space there somewhere you can pop one of those mini pc's in and you can officially have a triple CPU system.

P II 400 @ 450MHz, 160MB & GF2 MX here. Oh boy did I play Diablo II all day back in the day.
