Picked up Baldur's Gate 3 not typically a fan of CRPGs it's really the only genre I typically avoid and this has been no different for me so far. I'll stick with it for a bit longer but so far I find it pretty meh.

How's Diablo 4 going? I've been struggling to get into it tbh. Got no idea how far I'm into the game hey : (

No XP to gain when fighting ... "normal" fight (with standard ennemies) are boring, useless (remember : no XP) and grow tiresome ... [...] I think it misses the fun factor of the other Mario RPG.
As someone who absolutely loves PM64 and TTYD, that's why I didn't even bother considering TOK.

Pretty good but I've got buddies to play that with finally got my Tempest Roar on my druid plan on transitioning from my Pulverize build that's been pretty fun.

I'd rate season 1 a 6/10 though but even in D3 seasons got better and better my hope is since season 2 has the majority of the team working on it so it should be better. Not a fan of the season pass stuff so far though.

The developer has been pretty good about listening to feedback the recent changes in 1.1.1 have been really good after the disastrous last patch

I still feel they need to make the level 1-50 better for casual players and the solo grind less exhausting though.

Overall the game has a good foundation and developers who seem to care about player feedback so I have a lot of hope that it'll turn out pretty great in the long run D3 took years to get into a place I enjoyed it this has that beat already.

Legends of Runeterra - going for Masters rank for this season. Fun game and is FTP compared to other CCGs.

Just finished: Kingdom Rush Vengeance- fine, but not as fun as previous Kingdom Rush games.

A bit of racing in PC2, and later slow but steady in BeamNG.drive

I hope this is a more topically suitable location to ask a specific question about your recent wheel and pedal purchase. Specifically if you feel there is use for a third pedal , shifter, or hand brake in the driving games you've mentioned in this topic?

Just finished Paper Mario : The Origami King (on Switch)

A full blown new console from Nintendo would absolutely be welcome. Multifold if they split their developer output between porting older Japanese market games from previous devices and new content. Not sure if this is currently a time I'd wish to see them pursue this given their bent on Hollywood (antithesis of themselves creatively).

For not the first time it has occurred how poor of timing jumping into PC gaming away from consoles was.

To start, it's not an RPG, more an adventure game.
No XP to gain when fighting ... "normal" fight (with standard ennemies) are boring, useless (remember : no XP) and grow tiresome ...
Combats are original, you'll have to align the ennemies on a round checkered plate to get an 1,5x damage and fight with hammer, jumps, items or specials powers.
I think it misses the fun factor of the other Mario RPG.
The boss fight on the other hand are very good, with clever ideas. They're more like little strategic games.
The game is for everyone (Nintendo oblige, even more a Mario game), that's mean if you fail vs a boss, or an enigma, the second try will be easier an so on ...
Even small kids can do it.
Game could be a bit shorter (between 20 and 30 hrs).
A lot of humor especilly with Olivia (the little origami yellow girl) and her candid sense of perception.
The art of the game is splendid ... and there is even a take on Zelda : The Wind Waker : sailing an little ocean, with many small islands with enigmas to solve, and 3 temples to finish to get the Wisdom, Force and Courage item.
A good little game for holidays !
Never been able to get into the "Paper" Mario series. Such a weird concept. SuperMarioRPG(proper), sure, but Paper Mario? Why? Why paper? :kookoo:

Because it made for an experimental concept with the design and scenario. What started as experimental on the N64 was masterfully maximized on the NGC – Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door takes the concept further with every interaction, from rolling and folding Mario, to turning him into paper planes and boats, to blowing the scenario away with wind to progress.
TTYD is one of the best games I've ever played, hands down.

Playing Verses of Enchantment now.

Beautiful, aesthetically pleasing game.
It uses 160.000+ poems generated by AI for each and every word combination of the 100 game cards. The game is like a magic card game with poetry used instead of magic. The game is short, but so relaxing and unique.

I only just notice Quake 2 was re-released yesterday with enhancement & new system requirements. To my surprise this game is working on win 7 with default Vulkan API.
Wait, where?

EDIT: Nevermind. It's everywhere! Unlike the remaster of the first Quake, they have released it everywhere simultaneously.

https://www.gog.com/en/game/quake_ii_quad_damage

You buy it and you get access to the original and remastered versions. IF you already own it, you get a free upgrade! I checked Steam and the same is true there! Presuming Epic will also be the same.

Little bit of Quake 2 joy going on!!

@Bethesda
Thank You! Well done indeed!

Goat simulator?

Hunter: Call of the Wild

Blood fringed wolf is one of three boss wolves on map they are encountered. Due to a bug that prevented registering completion of his mission. I managed the rare feat of collecting two.

A separate sequential shifter and handbrake would be helpful in the rally games I've got but in Project Cars 1 & 2, and BeamNG.drive the wheel paddles and brake & throttle pedals suffice.
As for a clutch, hell-to-the-no, I prefer sequential shifting only :D Also I don't know if the clutch would have different actuation points for different cars?
And then there's the price, the H-pattern/Sequential shifter is €260, the handbrake is €130, and the clutch pedal is €30
But buying the clutch without the H-pattern shifter is :kookoo:

So TL;DR: Are the wheel with paddle shifters, and brake/throttle pedals sufficient in most games: Yes. Is it handier to have at least the separate handbrake is Rally games: Yes

Quake II remastered on Game Pass looks great! If you have QII on steam, it's a free upgrade and it was released yesterday by Bethesda and Nightdive.

Finally beat GoW 2018 last night.
While it was a good 20 hour story w/ great gameplay...the ending was just so underwhelming (yes I did the secret ending too).

I get the story, I get how the ending needed peace and all but the final boss fight was just weak. So weak.
Maybe I'm too nostalgic, but part of what made GoW so awesome was the sheer epic-ness of it all, and especially final boss fights.

Next on the Steam/PS backlog, Uncharted.

Bought BG3 on Gog and that launcher is absolute trash. Yeah I can download from the website, but that is 30+ files, because Gog apparently can't handle files larger than 4GB. Whenever I try to use Gog instead of Steam I end up regretting it.

Agree - Just ask for a refund and buy on Steam.

I fought with trying to get a mod pack installed on the GOG version of Skyrim. Even bought the Anniversary Edition upgrade because all of the troubleshooting posts pointed to that. Turns out the GOG version is different version number so it won't work.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of DRM free, but it's more of a PITA than dealing with DRM.

That costs more, because Steam doesn't do my currency and the swedish crown is not worth much these days, so Gog was the cheapest option. But yeah. Leans that way. We'll see.

Oh, that definitely makes a difference :( My biggest problem with the manual downloads from GOG is there's no one button to select all files at once. It's not too bad for games with 4 files, but the large games are difficult to make sure you get all the correct 'parts'.
