How's your >10yrs old GPU doing today ?

AM2 system/AMD 945 (95watt) slighty OC'ed to 3.5 OC quad core/ GTX 470 1.25GB RAM/ 4GB RAM Geil black Dragon
Windows 7 64bit and older games: FEAR, Far Cry, STALKER etc. I don't usually check frames if I don't have issues.
still works great & bought new...

I have my GTX580 Matrix Platinum, and 980 Classified that are retired, but not tired.. maybe I will plug them in later on and play with you guys :)
Yeah please join us ! Would love to see how the 580 aged !

I'll probably do some heavy bench like RDR2, Total War Warhammer III and other to see what my gtx 470 is able to do !
I'll test a GTX 460 and 550TI to when I'm back home on Wednesday !

My MX440 after getting all new capacitors and a repaste so I can keep using it for the Svideo out to the TV

Still have an r7 260x in the Optiplex with a 4790k. Biggest issue is the 2GB vram, but 1080p medium-high is good for mostly 60fps in games like Witcher 3, Star Wars Fallen Order, and of course higher settings in lighter games.

Hey, if you have some old GPU, why not bring them out of the closet and see what the performance is today?
Out of the closet?? I gave 3 PCs away ages ago, all with HD6850s and they are all still running to this day.

Edit - I think I have an x1900 pro on the shelf somewhere though.

Glorious!!

Prob got over another half a dozen or so GPU's but haven't got the space for them in my cabinet to show them off. I'll have to start making some room for them.

You'll have to take some glamour shots with the cards in front of the boxes one of these days. That'd be epic to see them all in order of release date :peace:. I wish I kept my old cards. I had an XFX 7950GX2 with the original box and everything that I let go of about 11 years ago. Out of all my old stuff, XFX had some of the coolest box designs over the years. I wish I held onto it for fun.

I wish I had an old GPU to join the club!

The best I have is a GT 710 which isn't 10 years old, yet... and a fake GTX 550 that I don't dare plug into any of my PCs for obvious reasons.

Oof which one do I choose
Sad I just moved and the whole collection is staying at home. I don't have any old pieces at the new place but I'm planning to continue collecting these masterpieces at the new place
Love these type of threads guys! Keep posting your beautiful old stuff

Seriously I want to buy everyone's collection so I can bench for hwbot points. Some seriously nice cards in these pictures.

This thread makes me wana play with all my old GPU's. Sadly, I don't have much time these days being a business owner, married and with kids :( Got some pics for ya though : )
Don't own a business, marry or have kids in order to have time for myself, got it.

Wow! Some amazing cards and collections guys and gals! Very impressive stuff, brings back some great gaming and ocing memories. Sadly the only working oldies I've got left are my EVGA 8800gtx in my retro rig, an EVGA gtx580 w/stock block(forget the name and cant remember where I hid it) and another MSI gtx580 with a swiftech block on it. The 8800gtx is the only one ive recently used. Like 2 years ago maybe? :( I just don't have the time to play with them these days.

It's great to live vicariously through my homies at TPU tho!!!

Got my 7900 GTX out to compare to my 8800 Ultra and wow this thing is a lot slower than I thought it was for them being only a year apart.

Dirt 3: DX9 720p Ultra Low
Avg: 37FPS Min: 27FPS

AvP 2010: DX9 1080p Lowest settings (Survivor, C-Block)
<15FPS

Heaven: DX9 1080p Low Tess off
217pts / 8.6FPS

Wanted to try my X1950 XTX also but there aren't any Win 10 compatible drivers at all.

This old dude is enjoying retirement... I do have an X58/X5670 board i could throw it into sometime.

It’s amazing to think how long it’s actually been since that baby was released. Makes me feel disgusted because it feels so recent in my head LOL. I will have to scour eBay looking for cheap deals on some nostalgia cards. Hard to find with boxes though I’m sure!

Have to check wich of them are still working, but I got
Cirrus Logic GD5430
Tseng ET6000
Mach64 VT2
Geforce 3 Ti 200
Radeon 8500 LE
Radeon 9200
Radeon 9600 Pro
Geforce 7300 GT
Geforce 8800 GT
Radeon HD 4870
Radeon R7 250X
Geforce GTX 660 Ti
around, that all should be old enough for some dustoff.
Just have to check which of them still work and if I can find my old bench results. And obviously what kind of benches they can do.

Found some.
Considering everyone is always about getting the best result, I tried to get the lowest I can do with certain hardware:
Yes, that is a 8.5x increase between overclock and underclock.

Also got a really nice Aquamark on 60% oc on a low end card. The thing was a beast.
Have to test that with a stronger CPU, the test is old enough to sit in CPU limit.

I have geforce2mx with 32mb of vram in my emac. If I was able to run any benchmarking programs on it, I'd be happy to share. But even browsing the internet is a pain. I found a program that will render the flip phone version of websites, and that is kind of usable, but still slow af. Great for emulators though. Nes, snes, genesis, even psx. And it plays warcraft III!

Sadly the oldest card I can test is a gt 1030, as everything else is an old laptop card...

Well, G80 GPU (8800 Ultra is based on), is from the same year as G71 :) (only half year apart)
Same goes for Pentium Extreme Edition 965 and Core 2 Extreme QX6700.

I have a GTX 580 Classified 3GB that I've managed to seriously chop up and push pretty far. Have it delidded /w Conductonaut LM paste on a 360mm Kraken X73 AIO mounted with an equally chopped up G12 mounting kit. Replaced the stock 128kb vBIOS flash chips with 256k's to try and get UEFI boot working (no such luck as of yet, can't find a compatible GOP partition)

Was able to get the core clock up to 1067MHz and Memory running at 1200

Fairly decent Fire Strike score

I do have a few more in the Boxes...
:)

Mine are dirty right now, not in a box.. I need to clean them before there are any insertions into this box

My trusty RX 580 has finally failed after 5 years of beating, so I dusted off my old R9 280X till I get a new GPU. It too had failed about a year ago in my second rig and I ended up ordering a replacement GPU from China as they are incredibly cheap, like 20 usd. Replaced the GPU and it's back up and running again. Funnily enough the new GPU I got from China seems to be very decent. I can undervolt it as far as 1 volt (0.94v measured), and it's still stable at 1000 mhz while sipping power (around 100w). With its unimpressive stock heatsink it topped out at 1250 mhz at 1.225v stable (1.16v measured).

Performance wise it's pretty good for 12 year old silicon, it still holds up fairly well. When overclocked it's in between a 1050 ti and a 1060, although it draws a ton of power and runs very hot.

By far the biggest drawback is the lack of driver support and a relatively small 3 gb framebuffer. Some AIBs released 6 gb boards, I might do a 6 gb upgrade later on just for fun. It also needs a new heatsink, the one it currently has isn't amazing. I superglued a fan off an old 360 to replace a failed stock fan, seems to work okay :p

OMG, I have an old 9800 GT, 5870, GTX 560ti, and a GTX 670 lying around. Maybe I should take some pics of them.
