Yeah, I think he's already modded in frame generation as well.... Although the modded varient of it is usually meh.

Honestly there isn't anything about the games performance that ought to cause drama - the game runs fine on any reasonable hardware.

I mean I trust random people online random screen grabs about as much as that german site but people seem more focused on how an amd cpu does vs an intel one vs just enjoying the game

these are my settings at 1440p, am running clean install of windows 10 + latest drivers. let shaders build before doing anything, then started playing, have not seen it dip below 160 fps yet.

maybe don't stroke one off to ultra settings all the time? :D game still looks amazing with my settings.

I disagree with your logic on this one, Xbox is going to down rez it especially since most xbox gamers are on a 4k screen, and at native 1440p 27" the pixel density already makes it look great to my eyes. hell take Dragon Age Origins from 2007, looks like shit on older setups, but scaled to native 1440p 27" ppi density it looks damn good.

It also caps at 30fps which is honestly the bigger issue with the console version.... I was JK btw.....

Nothing so far on my 3080ti and 4090 systems.... 3 of my buddies are saying the same... 6700XT, 6800XT, 3080ti. The only thing we have in common is we are all on AM4. ALL stock other than some memory tuning.

no crashes at all, but is the most demanding game I have ever run on this gpu, temps are higher than any other game, including demanding titles like God of War and Shadow of Tomb Raider uncapped/ultra.

also disclaimer on my in-game settings that I posted a few posts up, I also have Steam Overlay turned off for all my games, not sure if that makes a difference or not, I just have no need for it so always leave it off.

Be interesting to see if this turns out to be true (memory bandwidth scaling).

Even if that seems true in results, it shouldnt be true and is likely still attributable to the game.

It echoes what other results implicitly say: the pipeline is clogged with nonsense; which is also why the gap between fast and slow GPUs is rather small. This suggests game logic being the main problem, which is also highly plausible given the engine. Its also very likely graphics options have been introduced that just handicap performance in a basic sense. It wouldn't be the first Creation Engine game that's trying to chew more than it can stomach.

Since V cache CPUs don't excel on this title, it is likely the game just needs to optimize its streaming of assets/logic better; after all, if this was about 'feeding the CPU' cache should show similar and much better results than fast RAM. Data doesn't fit in cache, or is too sequential of nature, despite running on DX12; it'll likely still hang on a single heavy CPU thread somewhere.

I have to agree with your assessment. Doesn't make sense why there would be such a large gap between the 12900K and 13900K. In addition, that the 7800X3D falls behind the 13900K quite a bit. I have to wonder what core assets this game engine is using that are greater than 98 MB in size that it would spill into main system memory and thus bog down performance. That alone may explain why this game runs so poorly if you constantly have this massive overhead you need to crunch through every frame.

Despite the crashes (which I assume are bugs that will be fixed in the coming week or so) I am really enjoying the game. It is basically a bigger FO 4 which is a good thing IMO. I do see elements of Skyrim in this game as well. I think the menu system could use some tweeking (too much tabbing around, etc) but overall a fun experience.

It may just scale with mem bandwidth. Here's a shot from my machine in comparison to the video below. 1080p, 50% FSR2, still on max settings otherwise, 13900k@5.8, DDR5 8000. 13900k was sucking down 200w. Doh.

When my game crashes the GPU temp is only at 74 degrees and CPU is barely utilized. Memory is less than 8 gigs on this 12 gig card. Hopefully we will get some bug/performance fixes soon. Kind of pointless to buy a game early for the Labor Day weekend if it crashes constantly.

Game crashed 2 more times. So that is 3 times in less than 4 hours of play time. I have tried lowering the rendering percentage but that doesn't help.

Edit: These are complete PC shutdowns. Not crash to desktop. Looks like I am not alone...

your PSU is really weak and the game could cause massive transients (which RDNA2 is well known for)
do you still get shutdowns when you run the GPU at 1.5Ghz or so?

If the gpu is at max usage, then the game aint freaking cpu bottlenecked... jeez some of the ppl on this site...

Is the nvidia driver currently badly optimized for this game ? Yes ! But that does in no way equal a cpu bottleneck...

You're missing the point entirely, the GPU reports maximum utilization but it is not being fully utilized, I get 99% GPU reading regardless of whether I have an FPS cap or not, the power consumption figures change but the readings do not

and like I said earlier, the game has problems with the code and is written in a way X3D doesn't help, it's actually detrimental because the cache miss rate is hilariously high

Nobody else dealing with crashes? I think it is hitting my GPU in the balls causing the PC to crash.

Zero crashes for me... game is eerily stable, despite the wonky CPU perf.

What you are saying is just plain wrong.

If you get 75 fps without a fps cap, and you set the fps cap to 60 fps, then you wont see 99% gpu usage with the fps cap...

Edit :

Fps cap

No cap

Oh sheeet, it aint at max usage with fps cap, but it is without fps cap??? what is this sorcery?!?!?!
