All your compiled libraries were fed to a special chip we keep in the dungeon and it revealed your machine code to us and fed it to a supercomputer to generate a line by line source code we could optimize for our own benefit.

I’m not sure if I’m accidentally skipping all the tutorials, all the tutorials are broken, or if a lot of stuff just isn’t explained. I’m getting destroyed in CQC and I’m not sure why.

It's worth getting Gamepass for a month to check it out, and see how it runs for you.

Yea, cocur on the vagueness of the tutorials and bindings. Like in the ship E is exit the seat so in the middle of battle I keep getting up and out of the cockpit lol. I haven't put enough time into playing or even learning the controls yet but it is fun. If I could only find the time to get into a groove with the game...

They have lost their souls. I have played for several minutes and I haven't seen a single thing that has angered or bewildered me. Can it even be called a Bethesda game?
Hilarious, my kid was saying the same thing that it doesn't immediately suck. Is this a Bethesda game?

Given your system specs, which are very good, I would suggest trying it out if you really want to experience the game but keep your expectations realistic. IE, it's still pre-release and could get glitchy as some people have experienced. However, if it runs on your system it'll likely be fine throughout the whole experience.

If you want to wait for a version of the game which will be more refined, maybe wait for a few months for all the wrinkles to be ironed out.

They might be in your resources inventory on your personal self, they weigh 20lb.

Forgot to say I checked both my personal inventory and the ship's cargo hold. I'm worried I accidentally sold them. Do you know where I can buy some, because I'm doubting a shield generator alone will be enough.

I honestly dont know where to buy them. I usually get enough from blown up ships.

Even in Starfield I cant get away from the extend warranty scammers. Omg this game has everything.

Hey guys, I am now stuck on the Crimson Fleet quest line, for same reason, a dog fight I cannot survive. So I went back to New Atlantis, sold a bunch of stuff from my inventory and the Frontier's hold, and I have a question I can't find an answer to. Can I equip the Frontier with ANY shield generator? The guy at the Spaceport in New Atlantis has ones available that show as being mounted on much better ships, but I don't know if they'll work on mine. Same question as well for Engines or any other parts?

Another thing that worries me is I had several hull repair parts, but now I can't find them. Where can I buy some?
Yes, you can upgrade and replace your shield in the ship builder. You can only have one shield though. You can pay the attendant for repairs or find ship parts from smashed ships. Ship parts seem to be a patch up job though and not a full repair.

Science. ;) Probably figured that since the on foot AI is dumb like a sack of rice the space AI has to be, too. Quite embarrassing, even 20 years old games got better AI.

Youtube users also very impressed:
View attachment 312650

really getting sick of the negativity in this thread. no offense to you mate, but yeah going to unwatch this thread. some of the AI is questionable true, but there have been other times the AI really impressed me. Same with the face textures that one guy posted the other day and said this game looked like trash, not all faces look that way, not even the majority of them.

but yeah I will see myself out, thread unwatched, I am still having fun with this game, a lot of fun actually, so less forum time and more game time it is.

I'll just reply to you specifically anytime I have something negative to say, and there will be A LOT OF NEGATIVE THINGS. ;) But it's a bethsoft game. They're meant to be sort of crappy, but in a fun way.

Anyway I just picked up an entire stack of styrofoam cups while the robot did the fighting. Priorities. And I have two rolls of toilet paper, which I think is a first for a Bethesda game, and I quite like it.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
Game does look good, but at High (not ultra), with FSR on at 75%, I'm just at the borderline for a FPS style game (70-90 in intense firefights) ... on a system that normally sits pegged at 137 FPS framecap in other titles.

I'm stoked, the game runs great, but lik
ok now i am wondering ... what res? 4K? (must be ... given your monitor )

because 3k (aka 2880x1620p) on a R5 3600 + RX 6700 XT ... the game run and look great on ultra RRS at 100% + FSR at 70%
Starfield unlike Skyrim (specially when heavy modded) do not make me want to upgrade my current rig  (well outside the already planned 5800X3D ... and if that RX 6900 XT i see constantly dropping in price goes bellow 550 ... who know  currently at 609chf )

I aim to please:

Cute lil factoid, the typical hair cut even appears in BG3 :D
well, that's exactly why i took the trait ... ohhhh the nostalgia ... (also exactly why i gave him a baseball cap ... )

anyway, it's fun it run and i enjoy ... that's all i ask ;)

Ok so some performance numbers (2600x/16GB 2800Mhz/6950xt):

Max everything, no scaling, no FSR:
World: 47ish fps avarage, 40 fps low
Atlantis: 40-42 fps avarage, 36 fps low
GPU load topping out at 98%

Ultra preset: 75% resolution scale, 70% sharpening
Atlantis: 45fps avarage, 38fps low
GPU load topping out at 90%,

Low preset:
Atlantis: 45fps avarage, 38fps low
GPU load low, power topping out at 160W

Was going to see what happens if I bump up the RAM speed, but after that the game crashes to desktop when I load the save file, so no go. Will be interesting to see how much the Ryzen 5600 helps.

how do these people figure this shit out, it blows me away sometimes lol

The DOD spent millions on a AI robot that followed Marines into combat for months to train the AI to recognize what the elite forces did. At the end of the training the company had to put the unit to the test, the Marines would fail if it sighted them and transmitted their positions. The bot would fail if the marines could physically touch it.

The AI failed.

One group of marines simply did cartwheels for half a mile and the AI being AI was unaware that human soldiers could or would do cartwheels right up to it. Another group grabbed an empty box and used it like a turtle shell and slowly marched up to it and touched it.
