Technically, yes. But I'm going with what will actually run it at playable frame rates.
Well, assuming you're only talking about the i7's, I doubt there's much difference between an 4790k or 5775c with XMP vs 6th and 7th i7's, it might even run better on the former ones depending on the setups. 5775c/4790k @ 4.2 + 2400/cl11 ram will probably run it better than a 7700 with 2400/cl15 ram.

720P is a perfectly acceptable resolution to play Starfield at. Framerate is more important than resolution, especially in this game.

It's not the RAM, it's the CPU and GPU. For example, a i7-3930k with 16GB of DDR3-1600 would be fine as long as the GPU was an RTX2080 or RTX3070.

Disagree on the 720p, that's well under half the pixels of 1080p, and even 50% scaling yields pretty bad textures on a lot of surfaces. I'm not saying the RAM is as significant a factor, but it DOES cache rendering textures for the CPU before they can be sent to the GPU, so it's speed factors in some too.

Heard this game has atrocious optimization on the Intel and Nvidia cpu/gpu so I decided to wait for a bit before activating it on my gamepass.

Does disabling intel e-core and hyperthreading really make this run better?

Then don't use scaling at 720P. Seriously?

Not enough to make a difference in over-all performance.

Opinions vary. Some say it does, others say it doesn't. You'll just have to try it and find out if it works for you.

What's with the attitude? Do you seriously think if the performance was good enough at 60-65% I wouldn't have just left it there. JEEZ!

Think what you want, I can see with my own eyes what settings I need to use on my rig. It's not like I have zero experience at it!

I finally am taking time off from quests and enjoying my Dream House since i chose that as one of my three traits, don't have much yet, but got some basic stuff installed. Really nice carpet/rugs laid down, some display shelves, etc. I got the display shelves filled with some stuff I found that I thought was neat like Newton's Cradle, digiframe that actually changes pictures, etc

It took me awhile to get used to it, at first it was really hard to rotate stuff, I could never get it symmetrical like I wanted the rugs to be or the storage display shelves lined up against the back wall perfectly even... I was doing it wrong though, I tried lowering the rotation speed of items, that helped some but not fully, but someone recently told me of a top down viewpoint - have yet to figure that out that, not sure how to even enable it.

Thanks mate! At least then I know the top down mode exists, so I'll figure it out somehow.

The shop told me I'd get my Starfield code 5 working days after the order for my graphics card came through. Today is working day 6. I wrote them an email yesterday asking where my code is, but they haven't replied. I'm getting annoyed. If they don't respond until 12, I'll give them a rather unpleasant call.

legally you have 15 days to return for a full refund in the UK (I think), so if they refuse around day 11 or 12 you still don't have starfield key, tell them you want a full refund and you will take your business elsewhere.

i had no issue getting my starfield key from amazon, shipped and sold by amazon card, came same day it shipped in my email actually. had to wait to get the card to activate it of course. was a pretty flawless experience though overall.

I'm sure it would have been flawless with Scan, too. I always order from them, but they sold all the 7800 XTs they had until 30 Sep. Ebuyer is usually good, too, but their customer service isn't the quickest, it seems.

If Starfield is part of the price, then maybe they could at least send me back the price of the game? Interesting thought.

The sad part is, I did my research, and the shop is listed on AMD's website as their partner for the promotion. And I would really not send the card back if possible because it's great and totally out of stock everywhere. :(

I say give it a few days. There might be some delays going on that the seller can't do anything about.

That's possible... though I can't imagine what delays there might be in sending a code through email. It should take no longer than 4 seconds.

I would just call them and ask them to double check on it, and call back every couple days depending what they answer, human memory is fickle.

I am surprised already that it's taking so long. :(

That's probably what I'll do, although the promotion is ending in two weeks. If I cancelled the whole transaction now, I could still pre-order the card from Scan.

Heard this game has atrocious optimization on the Intel and Nvidia cpu/gpu so I decided to wait for a bit before activating it on my gamepass.

Does disabling intel e-core and hyperthreading really make this run better?
Runs more than fine on my system even with dated CPU and platform in general. Runs at 100+ fps pretty much all the time with FOV 100 and a few mods that mostly improves visuals and quality of life + DLSS mod (Using DLAA tho). Mostly I am running in the 100-150 fps range on ultra settings with some stuff disabled like DoF, Motion Blur etc. Some dips below or higher happens.

Lower end hardware is struggling some, meaning 4 core CPUs (maybe some 6 cores if old) and lower tier GPUs (or mid tier from last gens). However the game is pretty CPU heavy and 8+ cores is probably best. This is also why FSR, DLSS etc don't really deliver much performance boost and DLAA/CAS seems better to me, because I don't really need more performance in this game.

Avg. fps is maybe a little low but minimum fps is pretty high so there's no actual stuttering or anything that really is a problem.

FSR looks bad in comparison to DLSS (Quality) and especially DLAA. DLAA beats CAS as well.

CAS is better to use for most AMD/GTX users than FSR2 really (unless performance is a problem but uplift is low if your CPU is struggling). CAS looks way sharper than FSR2, however not as sharp as DLAA for me with no shimmering or jaggies at all at 1440p. Going 4K, outputting to my TV, barely changes fps for me. I might be CPU bound more than people with newer platforms tho but I am still seeing 100 fps almost always and high minimum fps around 75-80 is the lowest I can record with Afterburner after a long session.

I experienced zero crashes after 30 hours with 8-10 mods installed. Zero issues with quests (compared to Skyrim with gamebreaking bug in the main quest on launch). This game feels more ready than any other Bethesda RPG before it, however feels somewhat too big and unpolished when you leave the main quests or side quests. Exploration of procedurally generation planets are really boring and barely has anything to do besides mining.

Also this game should have had FOV Slider and DLSS on release. Glad modders fixed this on day one because default FOV is horrible and FSR is mediocre at best.

And no Intel CPUs actually runs this game the best ->

7800X3D losses to most 13th Gen chips in the same bracket or performs similar to the lower end ones. 13600K beats 7800X3D in both Ultra, High and Medium preset. Which I find strange actually.

AMD GPUs have a small edge in performance - but issues with not rendering the sun - and obviously can't use DLSS/DLAA or DLDSR like RTX owners to get superior visuals. Generally performance is alright with Nvidia especially on 4000 series.

You have an i9 9900k @ 5.2 Ghz, 4000/cl15 ram and a 4090, if it didn't run fine on your pc it would be comparable to GTA IV pc port.

My CPU is using Skylake architecture from 2015/2016 and I am stuck with PCIe 3.0 and no ReBAR support :p Not exactly a top-end gaming chip but still works pretty good, especially overclocked.

7800X3D and 13700K etc are much faster in general but I decided to wait out for Zen 5 and Arrow Lake + faster DDR5 memory, before upgrading my platform next year.

For me its Mouse 3, the same button for any 'alternative camera view' like the one that allows you to view your ship from every angle in flight.
