Most x800's could be flashed to a better version, and even unlocking 4 more shaders or pipelines. Had a X800pro as well flashed to XT with all extra's unlocked. Few hundred points back in the days of free performance.
Mine is R430 it doesn't seem to be unlockable from CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES readings. I didn't want to overclock this card as I already blew up X800XT before because of it. Prefer it to stay stock as finding this card is hard and expensive

Lex i bought a small item on eBay it did not work,And told the seller it was faulty and wanted to senf it back,
*Dear buyer, sorry, I‘m glad to 50% refund you and u can keep the item, because the profit of the item is very small , and hope you can understand . Is that ok? Looking forward for your reply.*This is a uk seller,i could understand if it was a Chinese seller.I don,t exspect that from a UK sellerWhats the point of keeping something that does not work. o_OI told him i wanted a full refund as i am entitild as it is faulty. The profit if the itrm has nothing to do with me.The item was only £6.15 why should i lose out. :(

The XFX 7970 I got earlier got the heatsink from my dead VTX3D. Removed the VTX logo from the fans, also reused the "R9 280" backplate even tho I planned painting it white.

Just open a dispute and send it back anyway. Defective products are not the responsibility of the buyer.

Yes i know. The message sounds a bit like the the message i got from a Chinese seller that i put on here before. These knock off adappters are not worth buying i bought
three of them and only the first one worked. I just bought this one which is nearly three times the price of the knock off green ones.

StarTech.com IDE to SATA Hard Drive or Optical Drive Adapter Converter - 40-Pin PATA to 2.5" SATA HDD / SSD / ODD Converter (IDE2SAT2)That i s a better idea using the floppy to connect instaed of the Molex one on the knock off ones. You have to really press it in there and it is a hell of a job getting it out,the connecter came off but i manged to get it back on:)People have said watch the pins on the Srar Tech but if you leave the IDE cable on it and just take the IDE cable out of the Motherboard you want have that problem of getting the pins bent.:)i like the idea of the Molex extention lead.It is a very tiny unit but is a lot easyer to connect than the knock off ones.Star Tech is a good brand it is worth the extra money for it.I have just seen it has gone up by rwo pounds since i bought it yesterday on Amazon o_O

Yes, there's a separate heatsink attached with pushpins on the VRMs. It should be visible in the 3rd photo.

Here's both the VRM sink and the backplate:

Technically, the R9 280x is just a souped up 7970 (same core) so the backplate is kind of accurate enough

Welp, out of pure boredom, I set out to have my own spin at a B52-MMX CPU.
015_gen4_big.jpg

What the Genesys B52 MMX was originally? A modifed SL2W8 300MHz Pentium II, with new L2 cache chips (which surprisingly, despite being 5ns, were faster than Intel's 4.4ns chips.) and a few resistor modifications.

What I chose for my own spin:

- 1x SL2W7 P II casing
- 1x SL35E P III cart I had around
- 1x Soyo 6BA + IV mobo

20230922_224401.jpg

I will probably look for a custom name for my version as well. I was thinking something along the SR-71.

Finished the SL35E for now.

The one on the right is a SL2HC Klamath 266.

Went to the market today ,did not buy anything. There were a couple 775 motherboards with basic CPU,s E8400 E8500, if they had a Quad Core one i would have got one of them. There was some ram they did not have any markings on them saying DDR 3.4.I am after DDR4.I tried the molex extension lead i got the other day with that knock IDE to Sata adapter needless to say it did not work.I should have taken pictures of them and put them on here so someone could tell me what DDR Ram it is.

I have a really nice partner for your P4EE. New in the box all the way from December 2004/early 2005. I’ll take more pictures tomorrow during the day!

Today's hunting season proved to be pretty great.

Shame that the 6600GT is artefacting. Everything else works tho, and I can prously say the ASUS 7850 I have now has a Sapphire sibling of the same 2GB GDDR5 flavour.

The Xbox mobo is also from a OGXbox I bought today. Before pics show the bulged caps and awful chip wiring, with the after photos showing 5x Rubycon caps and a fixed Aladdin XT chip.
Awesome I have that 6600GT new in the original box!

Oh man that model number rings so many bells from back in the day LOL. That would be pretty sweet!!

I have just seen this ,it looks a very untseal case ,i have never seen a case with a big fan like that at the front of the case.o_O And all thouse red sockets what are they?*Good condition It hasn’t been used for long time and sitting in the storage , No cables etc. not tested hence the price, selling as shown on the photos. He says it is a gamming PC.£20 not sure i really want another PC.Any one got any ideas what the case is?He calls it a LG Gamming PC.I was unaware LG made Pc,so_OOf course i would be taking a chance as he does not know if it is working or not.The case looks in good shape.View attachment 314186View attachment 314185

This is the answer i got from the g
That’s a gaming pc
I’m not sure about the specs as kids played it long time ago
No cables etc just parts and repair if it works a bonus at this price.
Is it. worth taking a chance at this price?I would have thought it would have been easy enough for him to test ito_OIt can,t be that old with all those red ports which i looked up are 3,2 ones.or If he just knows it want work.It can,t be much of a GPU taking only one slot.o_OThe case looks old.

I just bought this the other day, i wanted to test my three IDE cards one of them said removable drive with nothing on it so that was a dead card:( Only one seems to work one keeps on going off but i managed to get it to stay on line to get the crystal disk test work..so good on the end.:)
IDE is a pain to confect:(
Haha oh my gosh. I wanted this case SOOOO bad for my first ever build but I remember it being out of budget so I had to settle. The huge jet engine style fan seemed so cool as a kid hahaha.
