Oh no. There's a bad cap on the lower right. It's got the classic dome-of-doom!Pulled the old Dell Dimension 5150 out of the closet.

I didn't notice that. Hopefully it's not important. I did pull out the other old Dell last night (Inspiron 530), and installed Vista on it with the HD 4850. I can install XP on that too if I need to.Oh no. There's a bad cap on the lower right. It's got the classic dome-of-doom!

The card pictured was a fairly good budget sound card for the day. It was better than onboard sound, but not as good as SoundBlaster offerings. Kinda inbetween. It did a good job for what it was and the price paid.I got these from the market today all for £5 along with a 80GB IDE HDD.Does anyone know about the soundcard ? I guess as it is going for £6 on eBaty ot can,t be much of a card.I think getting all that for a £5 poind is a barginAll though not tested yet.
Hercules Game Surround Muse Lt PCI Sound Card 819 5058977 i can,t see a utube video on it.

I've seen one, it was a novelty and a nice one. Not greatly practical or useful though.

Not only was that a solid GPU for the midrange sector, it was a very good version of that GPU. MSI did good work back then!Worth while addition?

I’m thinking the same. I was always intrigued by MSI but hadn’t tried them until a bit later on. I’m trying to nab a 6800GT as well lol.Not only was that a solid GPU for the midrange sector, it was a very good version of that GPU. MSI did good work back then!
Are you collecting? Or will you be using them for some retro gaming?I’m trying to nab a 6800GT as well lol.

I had nightmares literally with ME, need to reformat every week or so because its so unstable. This was way back then, I either downgrade to 98SE or upgrade to 2000.WinME is easy to install. If you want some tips on making it run at it's very best, let me know when you're getting ready and I'll walk you through it.
I've heard about those horror stories. Only ever saw it once. It was a combination of misconfigured drivers and misconfigured Windows settings, both easily fixed if you were aware of the problem.I had nightmares literally with ME, need to reformat every week or so because its so unstable.

I was a teenager back then so idk whats the core problem of it, I try to restore via system restore (it was the first to have it iirc?) but its not working. You have any article/videos or something for me?I've heard about those horror stories. Only ever saw it once. It was a combination of misconfigured drivers and misconfigured Windows settings, both easily fixed if you were aware of the problem.
Ironically, that was part of the problem. WinME's System Restore was broken and needed to be disabled right after install. The Network config also needed help. Then the chipset, network and display drivers required WDM versions for stability. VXD drivers could be used for other hardware, but it was best to use the WDM's if available.I try to restore via system restore (it was the first to have it iirc?) but its not working.
